The food here is exceptional. I had a calzone, which was wonderfully fresh, bursting with tomato flavor, and perfectly cooked. My wife enjoyed a pasta dish that was equally fresh and tomato-rich, showcasing the kitchen's commitment to quality and traditional flavors. The restaurant also did an impressive job accommodating dietary preferences, as they skillfully adjusted their menu to cater to a table with vegans and vegetarians. This level of service really highlights their flexibility and customer-focused attitude. Additionally, there was a birthday celebration at our table, and the staff brought out a cake, which was a lovely touch. “We visited Spice and Ice last night and were blown away by the quality of the food. We were also really dismayed that we were the only people in. So firstly, the restaurant itself is still super glamourous and very comfortable. But the food is the real star now. Firstly, they have included very interesting dishes on the menu such as Gobi Manchurian and Aloo Papri Chaat alongside curry house favourites. They managed to get everything right. Our favourite dish was a smoky aubergine dish called Baingan Bharta. The waiter explained how they burtnt the aubergine skin to get the flavour. We got the impression that all the food was made from scratch with this type of care. Another star dish was the Samosas, they are the Punjabi style made with thick pastry, slightly spicy and very filling. Also, the wine was a reasonable price and great quality. So the only criticism we could come up with was “no craft beer”, but that’s pretty much the same for all restaurants in Doncaster. Finally, the staff were excellent. They were knowledgeable, polite and professional. Photo of the bill included but we all thought it was excellent value for what we had. They are obviously skilled in the trade and cared about customers. We told them they need an Open Now banner out front because we thought the place had closed down. Anyway, if you are in the area, please give them a go.”

“TLDR; Consistently great food over the last decade! Visited for fathers day; it was much busier than we anticipated. We had booked a table and were seated right away. Our drinks arrived promptly, along with our food soon after. The food was excellent across the board (as it usually is). The enchiladas are big hit for me! Thanks for staying awesome!”

“Having come as a recommendation and seeing the good reviews we decided to give it a go and was so happy. The staff were very friendly (especially Sarah) who was very chatty and welcoming. There was plenty of choice and we got meals from different sections of the menu as well as the specials board and it was all great. The Steak & Ale pie was especially amazing!! We didn't have starters so we could try the desserts and they were also all so good!! We will definitely go back again and even though it's a bit more expensive, it is definitely worth it!! Can't wait to try it in summer as well with the live music and beer garden. Thank you all so much. Have been for a second visit with friends to introduce them. Service was a bit slow but it was a beautiful day and all the tables were full. The food was amazing again and we even tried the ice cream parlour next door which was so nice. Spent an hour in the beer garden which was large and I would say it's alright. Tables and chairs were all solid and better than some basic ones. Still 5 stars from me!!”

“Last night we went to the Sun Inn, at Everton near Bawtry - another ‘new’ venue for us, and only half an hours drive away. This pretty gastro-pub comes well recommended by our local area groups, and we were most impressed! Our menu choices were soft shelled crab, and Scotch egg to start. Main courses were whole plaice, sea trout, lamb burger and Caesar salad. We couldn’t resist trying the desserts and we picked cherry Bakewell Eaton mess, and cookie dough brownie! The Sun has some great menu choices, there were lots of dishes we would like to try, so a repeat visit is certainly on the cards very soon! And it’s a very sociable venue - we were soon chatting to the ladies on the table next to us!”

“Love this restaurant mainly because of the lovely people who work there. They are always so helpful and friendly. The decor of the place is wonderful, the food is very good and a reasonable price. I've visited several times, and it's definitely my favourite place to eat in Epworth now. Something to note. I take my elderly mum there for a meal and she can't climb stairs and the restaurant and toilets are upstairs! However, the staff are happy for us to eat in the bar downstairs, and the service is prompt, so this has not been an issue.”

“Fabulous restaurant! We’ve been visiting Roccos since moving to the area a few years ago and originally found it by how great it smelled! Every meal over the years has been faultless, the food always tasty and the staff always friendly and attentive. It can get busy on a weekend so it’s good to book in advance to avoid not being able to get a table.”

I had the scotch egg and the duo of beef… both absolutely brilliant from taste to presentation.
