“For me, best cafe in Rotherham town centre. I can't comment on it as a bar (never been on an evening), but it's my go-to for a Saturday morning breakfast. Independent, friendly, good food, reasonably priced. The staff have a good rapport with regulars. Decent music a lot of the time too, which makes a nice change for cafes. I recommend their full breakfasts - I'm not a small fella, and their large breakfast is too much for me! They take card payments, but cash is preferred if possible.”

“This is a fantastic place, for a meal, or for drink or two. The menu is varied, the quality of the meals is amazing, they are very tasty and a very reasonable price. My favourite is the steak pie, it is something else, full of meat, and like other choices very enjoyable. I have taken my elderly mum several times, it’s firm favourite of hers and mine. I also enjoy a good night out with friends there, the drinks menu is varied, and the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. If I could give this place more than five stars, I would, it is that good.”

“Called in here tonight on my journey back home. Straight away I was greeted with a warm friendly welcome. I ordered a thin crust meat feast pizza garlic sauce and can of tango which came to £15.40. The pizza itself was very tasty with plenty of toppings however the star of the show was the garlic mayo. I have never had such a morish sauce in my life. I would highly recommend visiting this place if your in the area.”

“Oh my God, today we visited a lovely new café that has opened in Milnrow village After seeing all the post on Facebook It did not disappoint I ordered one of the specials, which was a roast beef sop The beef was so tender I didn’t care that I had to lift lick it off my fingers if no one was looking I would’ve licked the plate. It was absolutely delicious. The cafe Is so modern with a wonderful group of girls who are pleasant and happy to serve Can’t wait to return and try another special Good luck to Kate’s kitchen”

“Fantastic local family pub. Service and food is always great. However the real stand out feature of the place is the atmosphere generated by the managers Lee and Joanne. They have a super team of staff who are always bright, cheerful and helpful. We have used the pub for a formal family function and just to pop in for a drink and have never been disappointed. My dad is currently suffering with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s and is wheelchair bound. Lee and Joanne always make us feel welcome and make a real fuss of my dad. Other than his bungalow the Hay Nook is his favourite place to be.”

“visited again 12:00 on saturday, after two years. the meals ordered were delicious. the chilli beef was medium spicy. the lamb rump was tender, the slow roasted beef was good. meals were in generous portions. they were value for money. remember look for special menu broads A late lunch 3:30pm today, have a delicious and good generous portion of ox tail & mesh potato meal. if you enjoy ox tails, you should try this dish when it is still on a special menu”

“Review based on one visit. Honestly, I was blow away. The chap behind the bar and the lady organising front of house and kitchen were great. We had never been before. I called ahead, it's Sunday, asked if we could get a table booked and they said it was fine. We arrived soon after and the table was being set up, amazing customer service. They had an amazing quality highchair for our 1 year old too which made the meal time run smoothly. The kids wouldn't have eaten anything off the kids menu (we dont eat meat and they dont particularly eat fishfingers, fussy I know), so we split and adult Cod meal between them and they were fine with that. Food wise, top quality and homecooked, fresh. The cod was absolutly delicious, even better than the sea side. Was some great nostalgia from my childhood to visit a small local pub with good grub. Prices were fair. Good range of soft and alcoholic drinks. The only negative point, would be the lack of baby changing area. Or at least we couldn't find one. But to be honest, we just nipped out and changed our son in the car. No harm. Was great Sunday afteroon. Highly recommended.”
