“I have traveled extensively throughout the UK, and I can easily state that I had THE BEST steak and ale pie here! It was delicious and had little bits of potato in it as well. The pie crust was perfect! Highly recommended stopping here for the pies!”

“Exceptional Wedding Venue! Worth every penny. Our guests were blown away by the venue - it’s like having your own private magical forest for the weekend. The staff were great and really open to allowing us to use the space how we wanted. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.”

“My daughter got married here recently and it was an absolutely amazing day. She married outside in the beautiful gardens which was so lovely. The food was absolutely delicious and the venue room looked fantastic. The evening food of pie and peas was delicious. The staff were lovely and very attentive to all our needs. We stayed the night the rooms very nice they were clean and the beds very comfortable and to round our stay off a great breakfast too.”

“Fantastic "local" pub, nice rooms, excellent beers and a really decent pint of Guinness. Staff and locals very friendly and welcoming. Nice beer garden with plenty of seating. No frills, quirky, full of conversation......... definitely my sort of pub.”

“We were recommended to visit here for a meal so decided to give it a go . Boy we weren’t disappointed.we were greeted with a very friendly welcome, we had a drink before being seated and looked after and our order was swiftly taken by a very nice young lady. We both had the roast beef Sunday dinner, it arrived very well presented with plenty of fresh veg and excellent tasty beef and all the trimmings. We had a really nice time here all the locals were all chatty and it had a lovely atmosphere all in all we had a great time and hope to return soon. I would definitely recommend this beautiful place.”

“We will likely come again and recommend to others. The site has a lot of people like us who live in Sheffield either testing equipment or in my case just wanted to book a last minute adventure with minimum travel. Kids loved it, making some holiday friends. Showers warm and clean but the type you have to keep pushing to turn on again. Toilets clean with loo roll. They described it as busy but never had to wait for any facilities. Pot washing had clothes and washing up liquid which was amazing as I hadn't packed them. Clean water tap worked well. Paying was slightly awkward, you go to the farm house and lots of 'beware of the dog' made me nervous, what if I wasn't meant to go there. Fair price £7 per adult and £3.50 per child.”

“Despite arriving towards the end of service the carvery was absolutely excellent. The veg was lovely and the meat was phenomenal. Friendly staff and drinks and food for under £15 each, really no complaints at all.”

“We stayed at the Apollo Inn whilst attending a wedding at a nearby venue. The staff were all very attentive & friendly, the service was above and beyond. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was phenomenal!”

“Purpose built YHA hostel with en suite bathrooms. Perfectly located on the edge of Sherwood Forest and walking distance to a few good pubs.”

“Hidden little gem. Room that we had was clean modern and fresh with a good smart TV and even thermostat control for heating. Check in was easy through the link to collect the keys. Tea and coffee, extra comfortable bed and pillows. Really nice place I have stopped in many many rooms and this is up there with the best of them for comfort and safety. Also has its own private secure car park.”

“Lovely place to stay! Super nice staff, clean, comfy and you have a great view out the window. Also a full english breakfast is included and you can get either by bus or by taxi cheap and quick into town. Would definitely recommend!”

“Very clean and cosy room, very comfy bed, owner greeted us on arrival, 100% professional and extremely welcoming. Definitely staying here again. Hotel is on the main road but not too noisy as quality windows installed. Free WiFi, USB ports on sockets, amazing shower. My partner and I have stayed in big chain hotels previously and although they were marginally cheaper (on average between £2-£15) the quality and comfort of the Kellett Hotel surpasses them all.”

“Lovely clean room with comfortable bed and a great shower. The bonus of a mini fridge, kettle and toaster made the stay even better. Communication from the host was great and everything about checking in was straight forward. Lovely building and great view of the castle. Highly recommend!”

“We have always enjoyed our visits to this lovely house in a peaceful setting close to local amenities and the countryside. It is tastefully decorated and well maintained with everything required for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The kitchen is very well equipped, the 5 bedrooms, out door space and lawn make it ideal for intimate family gatherings or celebrations or for a relaxing break with friends. It is easy to find, hand over is simple and both the Owner and the manager of the property couldn't be more helpful or considerate.”

“We have just got back home from a stay at in Ranmoor garden suite. The apartment could not be faulted at all - it was very clean, modern and spacious and stylish. As soon as we walked in we felt really at home. There was a basket of complimentary croissants, bread, fruit and cereal which was a really nice touch and enjoyed at breakfast this morning! Also complimentary tea/coffee and milk. You can really tell the owner has a great eye for detail as the decor was just simply stunning - it has made me want go redecorate my own bedroom! Absolutely beautiful apartment- could not recommend staying here enough. Just a short walk away from a pub and shops too.”

“We stayed at The Castle for my partner’s birthday weekend while visiting Speedwell Cavern, and it was great from start to finish. After booking, I enquired about their birthday packages, and they were quick to respond, confirming they offer them at no extra cost. When we arrived, the room was decorated with balloons, a banner, and a birthday card. It was such a nice touch. Our room also had a lovely view of the castle, which was an added bonus. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. Sophie and Molly were especially polite and accommodating, always making sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, and everything went smoothly from check-in to check-out. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back.”

“I don't normally write reviews but I felt I should on this occasion. We booked a three night break for our 40th Wedding anniversary first time at Thoresby Hall and a Warner break. We knew there were re refurbishments and the Spa was closed but decided to go ahead. Totally relaxed in the peace and serenity of the grounds and slept so well. The Manor House Suite was beautiful never had a bit of luxury like that. We ate very well and enjoyed The Blu Room which is stunning. I realise it's all about opinions and this is our honest findings. I also believe if they had closed the hotel completely while refurbishment that people's jobs would have been affected and the hotel provides work for a lot of local people. Thank you for a lovely experience hope we're lucky enough to re visit in the future.”

“Absolutely fantastic greeting from the staff on arrival - Kevin was amazing and talked us through some nice walks in the area to . Room wasn't quite ready as we were a little early so he managed to find us one that was ready - rooms very clean tidy and comfortable would recommend anyone coming to the area to stay here .”
