“If you're looking for an enjoyable evening out, look no further. Don't be put off by the word 'amateur' as it does have negative connotations, however the actors and crew are extremely talented and all love what they do. Fantastic choice of shows put on throughout the year.”
“Lovely museum. Really makes you consider something we all take for granted, the humble brick and the history surrounding it's production and the lives of the people that made it. We came on a none steam day and the museum was quiet. Signage is very informative and easy for children to access. The cafe does good food for a fair price. We had some nice bacon baps. They have an old arcade section with fun old games which are good fun. The children's trail allows them to have one free go on the machines and my two managed to win some sweets which made them very happy. This is an absolute museum is a must for anyone interested in the industrial revolution and/or engineering.”
“The park is truly exceptional, offering a plethora of activities that cater to all interests, provided the weather cooperates. Whether it's exploring the farm, cycling, swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, or simply taking a leisurely walk—there's something here for everyone. Pet owners will appreciate the dog-friendly paths, and families can enjoy a perfect day out with their children. The landscape is breathtaking, especially where the woods meet the river, creating a stunning backdrop for any activity. You can easily spend a couple of hours exploring without covering the same ground twice. The park includes a beach specifically for paddle boarding and kayaking. I've uploaded the pricing details and booking information in my pictures for convenience. The paths are well-maintained, making it a pleasure to walk, and you can even treat yourself to an ice cream halfway through your stroll. Additionally, there's ample parking available along the main road, adding to the convenience."”
“Haven't been in for ages, last time was not long after it had opened. Friendly staff. Had the I think deluxe hot chocolate that comes with a cake. I chose a biscoff cupcake. Both the drink and cake were amazing.”
“First class concert venue. Excellent acoustics and lovely friendly staff.”
“We camped / bike packed there. It is HUGE 64 acres and with facilities dotted all over its mix of woodland and open fields. The track in was private and takes you quite a way off the road and is secure with 2 gates. We felt safe (and so did our bikes). Overall, The staff were helpful and happy despite our random requests! Loved it. There is a blurred deer in the shot out of the tent :). Nice morning sight!”
“I attend a class here fortnightly, the cafe has a nice selection of hot and cold drinks, with a small selection of pre packaged snacks. The staff are friendly. Ample parking”
“Went to a birthday party here. Was a great place. Plenty of room and tea making facilities”
“Lovely place have events plays music. But a nice place walk sit on bench etc”
“A lovely, all aged, outdoor play area. There is a younger kids section with swings, slide, hut and climbing area. This then leads on nicely to some outdoor music areas, large sea saw and a giant swing for up to 5 children. There is a small area with benches for a picnic or somewhere to sit and have a coffee from the coffee kiosk outside Holly hill leisure centre. Leading on from the seat area is the older kids play area which consists of a massive climbing frame which a large slide for them to get there thrills. There is a tyre swing, older kids swings and a sit on zip line for the kids to enjoy. There is also an outside gym just behind the park and a self contained basket/football concrete pitch. Overall a well thought out design for all age ranges to enjoy. You can park in the big car park just of off the Holly hill leisure centre.”
“Enjoyed a lovely latte in the new cafe. Youth club was loads of fun for the kids. They all had a fab time. Buzzing place full of smiles and music.”
“Great been there lors great place to hire or go for avents”
“Great little community centre, has a soft play area that is great for tiny ones and toddlers alike. They also have an area for the kids to whizz around on little cars, and an ample outside play area with great climbing frames etc. Lovely place to host a kid's party!”
“Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. My son absolutely loves coming here to participate in both Code Ninjas and Science Club. Would recommend this to any child who has an interest in computers and science.”
“Such a lovely time at the New Forest Show. A great family day out, good food, great activities and shows, local produce and local artwork. Helped by lovely sunny weather.”
“Massive shout out to Paul in the boot fitting department. I've been a long term customer of Snowtrax (both taking my kids there for fun activities and also buying boots and ski gear). Paul's patience and experience are exemplary and I wouldn't go anywhere else, just because of him! My visit today was another great experience and I felt compelled to write a review. Thanks Paul!”
“Went to the xmas show Tinker very enjoyable plus the grand kids loved it”
“Used the “River Launch” for another day on Hamble River. Fairthorne’s river launch gives you access to the most beautiful parts of Hamble river. If you turn left after launching you can go all the way to the waterfall (Sluice gate) at Botley Mill. It’s a lovely paddle with plenty of wildlife as you navigate the winding river up to Botley, passing under the road bridge with the bell you can ring at “The hidden tap” on the Flour mill wall and then opening up to the waterfall which lets the freshwater from the upper Hamble meet the salt water from the lower tidal river. Turn right and stay right and it’s another wonderful paddle all the way to “The Horse and Jockey” pub in Curbridge. Alternatively turn right after launching then take a left and the Hamble River will take you all the way to the Solent. Plenty of picnic spots in the way. Just got to remember it’s tidal ! Many people have been caught out by the lack of water coming back after a long paddle. Fairthornes river launch opening and closing times differ each day to match the tides. Those opening hours let you know how long you have on the water. There is a kiosk selling snacks and drinks but sadly there’s no toilets.”
“Really good beer fest, but there also put lots of other stuff. which this year I plan to see”
“I visited here for a Birthday party. Main hall is very sizable with a kitchen, toilets and little stage. All rooms were tidy although a little hot. Plenty of parking and a play park and field outside.”
“Very happy with hiring this Hall, despite initial worries of not being able to get there to pay deposit as it is only open from 10-12 every weekdays ( which doesn't even cover a lunchtime for anyone to pop in) and phoning to confirm we still wanted it and getting no answer we did get a call back to confirm everything. The hall was opened up in plenty of time and all we needed including chairs and tables and use of kitchen. Would definitely use this Hall again.”
“Great local community centre - we hired for a friend's leaving party and had everything we needed. Excellent facilities and reasonably priced.”
“A fabulous village hall with multiple high quality spaces. Clean, tidy and airy; an ideal venue for my chorus, Winchester A Cappella, to rehearse in every week.”
“Tahlia was nothing short of amazing for our wedding party! Amazing skills! Matched the glitter designs perfectly to the guests outfits and was so lovely and fun throughout. Made the process from start to finish simple and made great suggestions. Highly recommend!”
“This place is perfect haven to grab a few minutes of respite while your little one plays in a totally safe and fun environment. We spent an hour here and it was really nice, the little one loved it and we enjoyed being there with her. There’s food options available and it really retains the cafe feel, and the variety of toys and a small space means you can see your child the entire time (and step in if they get a bit snatchy!). I can see why it’s so popular.”

“Our daughters journey from babies to toddlers is everything we could wish for at Abbotswood. The staff are caring, passionate and have such a fantastic bond with our little one. They are always working to find new ways to engage and develop the children through play and activities and have the most incredible setting. We love the focus on being outdoors and allowing them to explore and use their imagination in a safe and loving environment. Thank you all Abbotswood staff for your hard work! ❤️”
“Amazing and kind staff. Our 18-month-old had a few tears at the beginning but now loves to go to the nursery. Everyone is so friendly, we get updates and pictures most of the time. Very happy with this choice! And they are also very flexible, which is so helpful with work times. Thank you!”
