βThis place really lives up to its name! Had a fantastic breakfast followed by waffles and a milkshake... everything tasted amazing and served by lovely friendly staff. Everything was reasonably priced and affordable. We'll definitely be coming again. Can't wait to try the specials next time! Would highly recommendβ
βThe accomodation was excellent. We had a converted outbuilding to ourselves with a choice of bedrooms, a small kitchen, lounge and conservatory. A friendly welcome from Eileen together with a couple of generous slices of cake was a perfect start to the stay at the farm. There was plenty of toiletries, tea, coffee, milk etc and the kitchen was well appointed with immaculate and modern appliances. The owners have got a Labrador puppy named Harper who was absolutely adorable. We would have loved to stay longer and will definitely return to this idyllic and peaceful location with stunning views of the countryside. There are plenty of places to eat and drink in the area. We ended up having a curry in a restaurant called "New royal balti" in Audley which was superb. Being non licensed we took a bottle of wine there from the Tesco store a few doors away.β
βOur friends held their Wedding here and it was lovely. The staff were excellent and the food was awesome. we were lucky to have one of the hottest days of the year, so spent most time in the Garden which was also beautiful. Great day and what a fantastic wedding cake!β
βLovely place to eat and the food is fantastic and reasonably priced. I had fish and chips this time because it looked so good when a friend had it last time - I wasn't disappointed. Fish was fresh, batter was crisp and perfect and the portion was massive! Last time I had Scotch egg starter - the best I have ever tasted. Will keep this pub on my list for sure!β
βThis delightful hotel set in stunning countryside provide lovely comfortable rooms. The whole atmosphere of the place is peaceful and "countryfied" well suited to its rural setting. The restaurant has a goiod choice of food and both our choices were delicious and good value for money. Great real ale too served in the cosy bar area. First class.β
βAttended Capelloβs for a meal out with a large group of work colleagues. The staff were really friendly and helpful and got all our food out quickly and correctly. All the meals were lovely and everyone really enjoyed the meal. There was great options for the gluten free and vegetarian members of the group. The atmosphere is lovely! Will definitely be returning.β
βGreat theatre and The Utimate Classic Rock Show one of the best we have seen . Great mightβ
βWe held my friends baby shower at hettys today and they kindly let us have the upstairs room and served us high tea. It was such a beautiful room and we felt very special. The food was amazing and the scones were out of this world.β
βVery delicious, authentic Thai food set in a beautiful pub-like setting (if you're looking for pub food, that would be at the Talbot pub next door). The food appealed to both first timers and fans of Thai food. Service was exceptional, and they were dog-friendly. Couldn't have asked for a better dining experience.β
βBeautiful Traditional Pub under new management. Lovely food great athmosphere Defo worth a visit.Dog Friendly added bonus.β
βThis was my second time here. I really enjoyed it. The decor is industrial with a red brick vaulted ceiling. It looked lovely with the Christmas decorations up. The food is really good. I had a goat's cheese, walnut and pear sandwich on seeded brown bread with coleslaw and fries as extras (shared). Excellent sized portions - and the fries were exceptional!! Very crispy outside, soft inside and very hot. The only negatives are inadequate parking at busy times and the noise level in the restaurant. There are no soft furnishings which makes for a very loud atmosphere. Screeching Christmas partygoers didn't help. I will go back, but not in the weeks leading up to Christmas.β
βA beautiful little Place right in the heart of Leek. Easy booking and check in process. We was given codes for entry/access to our accommodation when tea rooms are closed. Plenty of parking locally, reasonably cheap and free after 15.30 on Saturday and free all day Sunday. We found our room very clean and was provided everything for a lovely stay. Bed was comfortable, towels good quality and complimentary showering miniatures. Only slight issue was the TV signal wasn't great, channels not watchable but not a big issue. Staff were all helpful and welcoming in the cosy tea room. We ordered breakfast which was very nice and was pleasantly surprised when told it was in with the cost of the room as we was unaware, nice bonus. Overall we had a lovely pleasant stay and will definitely return. We have since found out they have dog friendly rooms so will be back with our little one.β

βWe had our first visit to CafΓ© on the Square yesterday as saw that they were dog friendly. Upon walking in we asked for a table and were immediately accommodated, we chose to sit outside in the spring sunshine which was lovely. The service was impeccable and the food was beautiful, we had club sandwiches and homemade cake to follow with tea and coffee. The tea was also loose leaf and came in a lovely filter pot. Will definitely be visiting again to work our way through the rest of the menu!β
βI have visited Higher Ground on numerous occasions and love the decor, atmosphere and delicious food. Staff are always polite and attentive. I often visit with my children and mum who has mobility issues and staff go out of their way to accommodate us on a table that is accessible for her. The food is always delicious, and it is clear that they use the best locally sourced products. I usually go for brunch but recently tried the Shawarma wrap that was amazing. Would definitely recommend.β
