βWe called back again tonight this place is amazing great staff the place was buzzing, even though they were full we didnβt have to wait for our food. If I could award them ten stars, how can you improve on perfection, but they did it again visit for yourselves. Thank you for a wonderful evening Wow this place is fantastic well worth a visit. It isn't very often a Restaurant ticks all the boxes but this one does Great food Pleasant and very friendly staff. And best of all value for money. Good disabled access entry from the main street out of the car into the building. Please make the staff aware of your needs when booking your table. The Crown carpark is at the rear, a quick 2 min walk over the road well sign posted and it's only a Β£1 after six Thank You for a great evening and we will be going back.β
βA large group of us had a wonderful meal at the Dog and Doublet, while staying at a local Airb&b. We were treated excellently, by friendly, helpful and very attentive staff. Our food was delicious and came quickly, high quality and worth the money. Definitely recommended.β
βBit pricey but worth it. Bacon wasn't what I'd call proper streaky but I'm picky. All in all it was great food, well presented and served fairly quickly.β
βAt last! A proper pub with proper beer, where you can have a proper conversation without intrusive TV screens and not given over to diners rather than drinkers. The Shrewsbury Arms has been completely and tastefully redecorated, with William Morris pattern wallpapers throughout. We (two couples) went on a Wednesday evening where a generous selection of cheese, pate and salami + biscuits was available - all free! There were plenty of customers there, although like many 'wet' pubs I can imagine it could be pretty quiet at times. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back. PS: Did I mention that the beer was excellent? I can recommend Pig On The Wall... Edit: Typoβ
βIt was such a lovely experience, my wife and I were visiting for the weekend and I was feeling a little under the weather so honestly wasn't feeling up for going, but didn't want to let her down. The staff, the cleanliness, the atmosphere and the locals were so welcoming and friendly. We had food which was great and well priced and the whole pub was so great with our dog Bucky. It really lifted my spirits and whenever we come back down to Buxton we'll be popping in every time, really lovely pub. The staff are a huge credit, nothing was too much, always big smiles. Really great pub.β
βWe had the fantastic opportunity to perform our LED shows at the Telford International Centre, and it was truly a brilliant experience. The venue is outstanding β spacious, modern, and professionally managed. The atmosphere was energetic and inspiring, and everything ran seamlessly from start to finish. We felt warmly welcomed and fully supported by the on-site team. Itβs an ideal location for high-quality events, and we would be absolutely thrilled to return. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at the TIC β weβre looking forward to coming back soon!β¨ THE BLACKOUTSβ
βLovely place for kids to play! Feels safe and can let your children be children without the worry of them getting out of the play area. Would definitely recommend. Safe are helpful and very friendly.β

βA fantastic little village hall. Went for my Grandsons 1st birthday party. They did the buffet for us which was really good and lots of food and choices. Guy behind the bar was lovely and friendly. Think his name was Kevin. Decent beer selection. I think it would be great for all occasions to celebrate.β
βExcellent local boozer, ale is spot on and plenty of sport on the TVs. Landlady very friendly. Just be careful when reviewing this excellent pub with great atmosphere there's someone I like to call him Judas is piggyback onto reviews and saying untruthful facts has he's never been in the pub.β
βBeyond brilliant service, was offered cheese oatcakes even though they were closed, oatcake really nice would highly recommendβ
βBooked a table very last minute, our first time visiting and the food was amazing. Service from J and Alfie was brilliantβ¦ such a thoughtful touch to offer a birthday brownie. Very welcoming and look forward to bringing our family next time.β

βWe rented Rosehill for a multigen family weekend with 11 adults and 9 children and cannot recommend it highly enough. The grounds are beautiful, there is ample to keep children (and adults!) entertained, and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The hosts were friendly and easy to communicate with. We hired a private chef -Roots and Wings -for a Saturday adult dinner, also highly recommended. Overall, perfect for our needs.β
βLesley is friendly and a great cook. The bacon and egg baps we had were delicious.β
βI have always loved El Fourno since Mario and Cristina have opened. Fantastic pizza last night, amazing chicken goujons ! Iβd recommend the whole menu, fantastic place for food with a family atmosphereβ
βWent here for a family reunion, the pub was great something for everyone, play area with bouncy castle for young ones, pool table for teenagers. Great outside seating really deceiving from the front. Would definitely go again, maybe in a smaller group lol. We ate in stages which wasn't great but rhere were 18 of us so understand. Parking is along rhe Road or just opposite.β
βCame to the flowerpot a few weeks ago, great food, great vibes, lovely staff served by courtney, mya and manager holly. Will be back soon! Only note is that music could be a little better and updated.β

βWhere do we start? Thank you, thankyou Zoe and the team for hosting our daughters wedding 27.6.25. Nothing was too much trouble.. everyone was so friendly, the pub was decorated to perfection in a relaxed country floral theme. The flowers decorating the venue were stunning. The food was plentiful, utterly delicious and presented beautifully. There were so many little personal touches that completed the day .The dj kept everyone on the dance floor and again nothing was too much trouble. The Windmill is a real gem..thankyou xxβ
βReally good food and the service was excellent. The host was really friendly and polite. Good value for money. Will definitely be going again.β
βWe came on a date night and it was a great experience. I had heard that the place had changed hands and I thought it reasonable to give it a go. I'm so glad that I did. The food was lovely, no issues there and brilliant portions (and more than happy for you to take leftovers home!). However, the star of the show was the service. The gent was lovely, attentive without being overbearing, but also willing to pop in suggestions when asked. The best service that I've had in a long while.β
βCame in on the 29/09/25 around 13:30. Ordered a drink and a buffalo burger. Honestly best hot and spicey burger I've had in a long time. Had the same burger in other spoons and have been very disappointed. Who every was in the kitchen. They understand hot to make a burger listed on the menu as hot, HOT!β
