“Fabulous little micropub just off the main road in Buxton. Good selection of ciders and beers that are well kept by the efficient and friendly staff. Brilliant atmosphere, cosy and friendly. Very dog friendly. If you like beer & dogs, you need to try this place ! Sadly I'm allergic to dogs so can never stay for more than about half an hour before I need some fresh air. Always pop in though when in Buxton !!”

“Clan was out and about in this area and stopped here for food. Vegetarian and vegan options were amazing so the orders began. The service was wonderful. We were seen to our table and the one child with us was given a kids menu that they could draw and colour in to keep them entertained. It was pretty busy so I expected some delays in the food yet it arrived quickly. The food was amazing. In fact it was so good I ordered more and that arrived just as promptly. The lady servicing us was so helpful and would advise on food and drinks. Desserts were lovely too and everyone left with full bellies as there was something for everyone and all due credit to the kitchen team, it came out pretty fast and was delicious. Will definitely be back here when I'm in the area again. Enjoy.”

“We stayed in our canper van in the beautifully laid out car park. Paying to park overnight gave us a voucher for 10% off our restaurant order which was brilliant. The food and the beer were really good, the indoor eating area was cosy and the staff were lovely. We'll definitely be back.”

“My Wife and I called in this morning. We ordered a small breakfast and a regular breakfast. We were greeted by two lovely ladies who were very pleasant and sociable. The service was prompt and efficient. The breakfasts were cooked to perfection and the quality of the produce was amazing, Thank you ladies for a very pleasant visit. we will recommend your lovely cafe to our friends and family and look to seeing you again. “Visited Buxton for the new year and visited The Swan new years eve. Not disappointed at all. Great locals and bar staff we're fantastic. Thatchers went down very well with myself and my son. The band we're great and very entertaining, sorry but can't remember their name. Please add if anyone knows so they get a mention as a thank you. Next time we're in Buxton we'll definitely be calling in. Thanks to the landlord and landlady for a Fantastic evening.”

“If your passing on your way to or back from town whilst staying at Premier Inn. This is a great tradition pub, with darts, pool, sports. A big welcome from landlord with friendly locals. A pub full of character & characters, not a bland plastic space. Excellent pint of Wainwright's. Thank you for your hospitality.”

“Wonderful welcome. Very large comfortable bedrooms and superb food! A fabulous place that we will return to regularly. The landlady and landlord and fabulous team make sure every guest is happy. Whether visiting for a drink, food or overnight stay you will not be disappointed. The food portions are huge but save room for the lovely homemade desserts too!!”

“The rooms around the back are cosy-sized but very comfortable. I stayed on a drizzly Wednesday night so there was no one sat outside the back of the pub and it was very quiet - can't say how quiet it would be on a Saturday night. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. They had my cooked breakfast ready when I came down in the morning as they knew I needed to leave early, and they locked my bike in a secure room and had it out ready in the morning without me having to ask. Just be aware that if you come by train, it's at the top of the hill!”

“Visited here for a spa day to celebrate my birthday. The spa is very small so we only booked for a 4 hour session, worrying we might get bored. However, the time absolutely flew by and we wished we had longer! We had the mill wheel back massage, which was excellent. We also booked in for afternoon tea, which was delicious and very generous portions. Would definitely recommend.”

“Excellent new store big spacious. Easy to get round. Very well laid out easy open freezers . Disabled and elderly friendly. Toilet disabled friendly . The store is very well stocked with good range of products .Cheaper than Waitrose Sainsbury Tesco. Also has weekly special products can be anything everything . They include kitchen bathroom tools garden pots chairs . School things personal products good range. You can easily do full shop in store . Aldi products are as good as any other make . Just bit cheaper. The only problem is getting there if you don't have car . Some buses pass store .”

“We stopped here for lunch on a whim - really glad we did so as it is a gem. Good service and atmosphere, clean and just a really nice place to stop at. The icing on the cake for me was the fact the menu had many gluten free choices, one of which was a pie. Such a rare treat to find gf pie on a menu anywhere. It was delicious. My husband had the ordinary pie and was likewise impressed. Unfortunately for us we found this Inn on our last day in the area, so we weren't able to return, but I'd willingly recommend it to others.”

“It was such a lovely experience, my wife and I were visiting for the weekend and I was feeling a little under the weather so honestly wasn't feeling up for going, but didn't want to let her down. The staff, the cleanliness, the atmosphere and the locals were so welcoming and friendly. We had food which was great and well priced and the whole pub was so great with our dog Bucky. It really lifted my spirits and whenever we come back down to Buxton we'll be popping in every time, really lovely pub. The staff are a huge credit, nothing was too much, always big smiles. “The food at the Lucky House is prepared well, cooked well and you can eat it with confidence. I've tried a variety of dishes and each has been tasty; not too greasy, not too salty, nor too sweet. The family are nice people and prices are very fair. When you phone through an order it's repeated back to you, you get a price, time, order number and a reminder that it's cash only. I always collect. 5 stars.”

The lady who served me who i think may have been a manager was brilliant, she was on the ball with serving me and putting my order through, and i could tell she was working hard because didn't stop rushing around. The food came out in super quick time. Toilets were clean. I would definitely return to this whetherspoons.”
