“Great pub. Lovely regulars and lovely staff. Good choice of beers wether you drink light or dark, fizzy or fruity. They always have an option for tea or coffee and non alcoholic drinks and snack too.”

“Fantastic Pub the new Landlady has brought it back to life by working with the community to put on events they are looking for as well as great entertainment. The pub is now a community hub with lots going on and everyone looks out for each other by working with the community and respecting their needs Claire has really started to make a big difference locally and it is definitely 1000% better than I have ever seen it.”

“Came in for a drink on Friday night had a live clubland singer on was absolutely fantastic it’s loads better with the new landlord totally different atmosphere now the bar staff are friendly and efficient it’s clean and fresh you can see and feel the changes very different to the last time I went in I will be visiting again”

“We had booked for a table on our walk, and we got there a bit early before opening, but tables outside to sit on. It started to fill pretty quickly, all the food we ordered was delicious and cooked perfectly no complaints from any of us and we were a group of 5. Even some drinks came quirky. Would definitely go again.”

“Came lastnight for a meal, it's the first time I've ever been and not had a carvery and the food was lovely. My partner and mother in-law said the burgers were lovely. My nachos were delicious, the waiting on staff was brilliant aswell, if I had cash I would have tipped her as she did her best on her own. Thanks for feeding my family with some lovely food :D”

“Great pub with great staff and the locals are extremely friendly karaoke on a Sunday with Ben is a great afternoon/night. Quiz night on Wednesday night is a great midweek break. Jo Baker the landlady is doing a great job and now they have had a refurbishment the drink deals and cocktails make it a very reasonably priced night out”

“This grotty local boozer has had a spectacularly marvellous refurbishment and is now fabulous. New landlord & staff makes this most definitely a 'good to' pub complete with cask Ales and a decent spread of lagers. Pub's a good 'un!”

“Had a lovely visit here recently. Drinks were great and the prices were good. They also have a new manager Leah, she is an absolute star. Nothing was too much trouble and her attitude was great. Definitely passionate about her pub. All of the staff that we met were so friendly too. They also have lots of events planned for Easter so would definitely recommend a visit!”

Welcoming to all crowds! A decent, well kept beer and newly refurbished. It has great little beer garden out the back thats lovely in the summer.”

“Best place on campus to grab food. Tasty and quick food that's pretty reasonably priced (although the prices have jumped up a bit this year, putting them more expensive than spoons for the first time). Absolutely adore their cocktails and highly recommend (though I'm totally heartbroken they've taken two of our favourites off the menu). Still, great atmosphere, lovely staff, comfy seating. A great spot.”

“Just had Lunch. My partner had a pork roast and I had a southern fried chicken burger. Both meals were delicious, one of the best burgers I've had. We both also had red velvet cake sundaes which were fantastic! The staff were brilliant, service was very good. The Pub is also dog friendly.”

The bar staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, engaging in delightful conversation that added a personal touch to our visit. The food was excellent – we tried the sharing platters and were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions and great value. The pub’s Christmas decorations were beautifully done, creating a warm and festive atmosphere that made our experience even more enjoyable. This is easily one of the best Greene King locations we’ve visited locally, and we’ll definitely be returning!”

“We didn't stay in hotel so cannot star the rooms. The food was lovely I had classic hunters chicken (chicken new yorker) and it is the best one I have had so far, the hot drinks were refills, staff friendly, would definitely go there again.”

“Served by James C extremely well looked after. My little boy has allergies and the attention he took making sure all possible safety measures were in place was very impressive. Time spent conversing and paying attention to my son and even let him put pictures up within the restaurant which made his day. Food excellent as always and great hot selection. Beautiful since the refurb we come regularly and always enjoy our breakfast FIVE EXCELLENT SHINY STARS”
