“Had a bhuna which was outstanding. Biryani which was an actual biryani not just coloured rice. Garlic cheese naan very cheesy and soft. Pakoras best I’ve ever had with a delicious homemade raita. Shami kebab clearly handmade and covered in tikka onions, 10/10. Without a doubt the best curry I’ve ever eaten and I’m probably into a couple of thousand curries at this point. Absolute best takeaway I’ve ever eaten cheers Latif.”

“Genuinely impressed! We chose this restaurant solely based on the authenticity of the menu online, and the “boast” of a long wine list. Oh, that wine list is fabulous! (But so was everything else!) “I booked Jordy’s Pizza for a 60th birthday party that I held at my house. Jonjo set up and served from the back garden - set up and set down was very smooth, the service was excellent and the pizza was amazing! Jonjo was so friendly and responded to my emails very quickly which made the whole process stress free and straightforward. I’d highly recommend booking Jordy’s Pizza for a house/garden party!”

“We had a take away yesterday evening and really enjoyed it. The quarter of crispy duck was a very generous portion. Really crispy skin and succulent meat. We also liked the salt & chilli ribs starter and two main courses with king prawns & chicken. All were good sized portions and very tasty. The lady who served us was lovely. We are staying nearby as pet sitters and would definitely visit again if we return to this area.”

“Went today 1/10/25 for carvery lunch. Not been the Plough for a couple of years. The bar staff friendly. The carvery selection was excellent and nice and hot. Also I noticed the server of carvery was checking the meats with a thermometer and writing it down. The waitress Emma was very friendly. We will recommend the Plough and most certainly be returning again.”

“We had Sunday lunch today for 7 people. Everyone had a different Sunday Roast that was on offer. All were very nicely presented on hot plates. I had the pork belly that was very tender & tasty. Some of us had turkey that was very moist & plentiful. The beef was very nice & was cooked to your liking, the lamb was tender. The selection of vegetables hot & nicely cooked We also had some extras, pigs in blankets, red cabbage & cauliflower cheese all really nice. The service was very good, friendly & helpful. Was a very relaxing afternoon with friend's. Would highly recommend the Peacock for a lovely meal in nice relaxing surroundings. Will be going back for sure. Thank you for your service & a lovely time.”

“We've just spent 5 nights in the Byley suite at this lovely hotel. I can't fault it in any way. It's very clean and comfortable. The staff are all friendly and attentive. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. The grounds and outside spaces are attractive and well maintained and there's plenty of parking available.”

“I ordered pizza tonight and I want to say what an absolutely lovely lady I spoke to on the phone. There was a slight hiccup with the order and I was contacted and after a genuine apology it was soon rectified. From what I can gather it was the ladies first day, and considering that her customer service skills are wonderful she is a lovely asset to the shop.”

“I came here to try out this place as it was on the newspaper and it was a big public chippy which was apparently one of the best, I travelled from quite far to try out the food here and I can truly say it didn't hit my expectations but it was still decent. It's a pretty good chippy even if it isn't the best one I've seen. I'd recommend this place on especially how hard working the staff are and how clean and spotless this place is! When you come here you can tell you're getting nothing but a high end quality product even if doesn't taste the best. The white interior design truly makes this chippy standout along with it having a seating area which most chippys don't have! Getting to see the person peeling the potatoes through a glass window is also very appealing.”

“Table for 1 on a Thursday - but the service was excellent. Food was fantastic too, one of the best Indian restaurants I have eaten at. Food tasted fresh and well prepared, presented amazingly. Spice levels in the menu were accurate too. Staff working here all seemed happy and recommended dishes that I haven't heard of and could describe them very well. Drink selection good too and draught cobra tasted good and matched well with food. Glancing into the kitchen and was refreshing to see a clean kitchen with organised sections too. If I'm ever back in the area I will be going back here!”

“2025 Works Christmas meal with 39 of us planned well in advance. We were pleasantly impressed with welcoming staff and tasty food, the meals were hot and generous portions. Even with the large group to manage the staff kept smiling while matching meals with the right names. Each course came pretty swiftly so everyone had food at similar timings. A separate server sorted everyone with drinks throughout. On the whole a solid experience. We learnt later the meals weren't a seasonal menu - but a weekly roast which you could have the same on another visit, which i may come back with the family to be fair. “Stayed here for a week for a business trip. The rooms were excellent as were the staff. On the last night we experienced a power cut which was out of the hotels control. They moved us to a different hotel which was made very easy by the hotel manager. The staff were brilliant and handled the whole situation. It would have been understandable with so many people to deal with if someone lost their rag. But everyone remained calm. Fantastic staff. Would very highly recommend”
