“I've had fish and chips from here 3 times in the last 6 months. And all I can say is.. you have to go there.. The portions and the size of the fish is impressive. Along with the staff who are friendly and helpful. This place is a must.. A few car parking spaces out the front along with space in next doors community centre. Next door is a cash machine.”

“A friend suggested the Market Tavern for a breakfast so I went with said friend to give it a go. What can I say but one of the best breakfasts I've had for a while. The service from the staff was excellent and the food came out pipping hot! 2 large breakfast, 2 latte and 2 OJ for around £30, you can't go wrong. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!”

“I'm addicted to the breakfast rolls , they are massive & full of bacon , egg, sausage , hash brown & mushrooms haven't tried the other food yet but I'm going to . Left the atmosphere stars empty because we have foid delivered & don't eat in the cafe itself .Delivery is really quick , so quick the last time my kettle had only just boiled for my cuppa to go with breakfast roll”

“We booked in Advance its open 6.00pm promptly just take note the menu on the outside of the property it’s not up to date some of the items you unable to have was told last night it is 5 years outdated! Nice friendly staff nice starters I had king prawn my partner had pate both had sirloin stake I wanted mine medium & my partner well done & we emphasised that when it came out it had blood in its & for her it was off putting they quickly took it back but my fear that all the chips & the vegetables would gets cold but to fair play fresh chips & its was cooked correctly second time lens was nice”

“Called in for food and it didn't disappoint the staff are very friendly we were greeted by two lovely ladies who were very welcoming we were shown to our table by one of them and our drinks oas taken quickly and were brought to us within minutes, she took our food orders and we can honestly say the food was hot the portion sizes are good and just full of flavour, we had a young cheerful waitress who was polite and made our time here very relaxed we didn't have to ask for anything as she checked in with us regularly, will definitely recommend the fountain to family and friends.”

“Stopped here with friends for a light lunch yesterday, and although I was a bit disappointed there were no sandwiches on the menu, I had the pancakes with fried egg, bacon and maple syrup, which was delicious. Our waiter - Jack M, I think it said on the receipt - was also brilliant, so helpful and friendly too. Please pass on our thanks for a job well done.”

“It's not often I can give somewhere top marks but today was a day when I could. My very first time here after numerous recommendations and I wasn't dissapointed. We arrived promptly for our booking and were quickly seated. Our server today was Steve, a polite and attentive young man. Very knowledgeable of the menu and anything regarding our eating experience. I ordered off the lunchtime menu, to start i ordered the Sticky Chipotle Chicken and to say I was blown away is an understatement. The chicken was perfectly moist and tender, the Chipotle flavour was on the money and the chilli jam on the side was a perfect accompaniment. For mains I ordered the filet Mingon and i added the beef dripping sauce. now to put things bluntly I'd say I was being served a michellin star dish. The temperature of the meat was perfect the accompaniments were well balanced and complimented the dish exquisitely. The sauce was something I've never experienced, the levels of flavour and depth gave me pure joy. Finally for dessert I opted for a selection of ice creams and I wasn't dissapointed there either. And I can't finish without a big thank you to our chef today Danny. With skills like that I imagine awards are not unfamiliar to you. All in all a fantastic experience. I will be back sometime, hopefully to try the Wagu.”

From the moment we stepped in, the service was exceptional—warm, friendly, and genuinely hospitable. The atmosphere was buzzing yet relaxed, and their dog-friendly policy made us feel even more welcome. The beer garden by the river is the perfect place to unwind and take it all in. We were lucky to visit during the final week of their current menu. For starters, we had the vegan fishcake served with garlic mayo and tomato salsa—unbelievably realistic and delicious—alongside perfectly seasoned meatless meatballs on toasted focaccia. Our mains - The stuffed butternut squash came with creamy lentils and new potatoes, while the plant-based Tuscan chicken was a showstopper. The sauce was so divine we couldn’t resist ordering extra bread just to savour every last drop. To finish, we enjoyed a vegan crème brûlée that was both impressive and indulgent—a flawless end to an incredible meal. We left full, happy, and already planning our return to explore their new menu. If you're looking for phenomenal plant-based food in a welcoming setting, The Brit is absolutely worth the visit. Bonus points for the wagging tails they welcome too!”

“Great service... warm greeting on entering, friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout. The pizza was great, freshly made with a great balance of toppings. The onion rings were a bit disappointing as they seemed to be out of the freezer and deep fried, with a mushy onion filling... but there were plenty of them in the serving, and the dip accompaniment was tasty. It was only a small part of the overall meal, and everything else was 1st class. The cheesecake was very nice, and definitely recommended. We'll definitely be returning.”

“I have been interested in cooling at this place for many years. Whenever I have driven past the car park was always full and when I stopped to talk to somebody they said the food is excellent so I knew it was a place I had to try. The prawn cocktail was very nice and the roll that came with it was so so cute. The Sunday dinner itself was really tasty. They was plenty of veg and lots of meat. The vegetarian mushroom Wellington was really tasty and although looked small was so so filling. I will definitely be going back it was delicious.”

“We went in tonight for the first time tonight. The food was absolutely incredible and the service amazing. The wine was truly wonderful. The chef even made me a vegetarian dish that wasn't on the menu. My partner loved his lamb shank. We were too hungry and tired to take photos, but the food was Instagram worthy. We had to find somewhere to book last minute to celebrate my sons graduation as the original place we had booked had to close due to a member of staff testing positive for covid. I called and explained the situation and the staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful. They managed to fit us in and in and I'm so glad they did. The food was absolutely incredible and nothing was to much trouble for the staff. I will be recommending this fantastic restaurant to everyone. Cannot wait to go back”
