“This museum hosts a number of great relics. Between the last remaining LCT to the Grizzly Sherman and the Crocodile Churchill tank ready to go in her well deck to a unusual tank recovery vehicle Sherman and a DUWK this museum packs a lot of punch for its size. A great start for a commemorative WWII tour for the battle sites across Europe.”

“Popped in here today with a friend for a late afternoon coffee and we sat outside in the sunshine on fresh new tables. The cafe has apparently been under new management for a few months now and what a difference- the staff were friendly and pleasant, the cake choice looked delicious and our scones with jam and cream were a lovely treat. Coffee great too. We will be back!”

“Rhys has been amazing with my remortgage application. It’s been a really swift process hassle free. Rhys has kept me updated through out and has been extremely prompt with completing documentation and sending documents over to myself. Rhys has responded to any queries regardless of it being outside of working hours. Rhys made this process much easier and less hassle then my initial mortgage application with an alternative company and I felt like I was much more informed about this application thanks to Rhys. 5 star service. Rhys was great with helping me with recommendations for solicitors and surveyors. An all round great service.”

“A group of us ate here at the weekend in celebration of my birthday. It was the most fantastic experience! The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere but still maintains a high level of professionalism. Two of us had the vegetarian menu whilst the other two had the standard menu and all of us were blown away by the quality and the individuality of each course. My particular favourite was the tomatoes with whipped ricotta (best tomatoes I've ever eaten); other gems included the Old Winchester tartlet, the confit aubergine, and the rosemary fudge. The wine pairings were well thought out and in my view good value for money. What really topped off a superb evening was the exceptional service we received from start to finish - the staff are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and true asset to this restaurant.”

The host gave a lovely welcoming and helped us out with little clues when we got a little stuck. Managed to escape in 56 mins and can’t wait to try the other rooms they’re developing. Would recommend to anyone in York to visit as its a great activity.”

“Hands down my favourite coffee shop in Bristol. Incredible coffee (in particular the cold brew), with always lovely service. The atmosphere is inviting and unique. It's nice having a coffee shop that cares about their coffee, while also being inviting and having options for non-coffee people. I love to bring friends and family here, it's very special to me.”

    Abeno

    ★★★★☆ 4.7
    Open

“Abeno is an outstanding Japanese restaurant that specialises in the Kansai variant (also called “Osaka style”) of okonomiyaki. Given the glowing appraisals it has received from other Maps reviewers, my partner and I decided to book ourselves in for a special occasion. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and ushered into the restaurant’s cosy interior. Our server took the time to explain the range of okonomiyaki available and the nuances that distinguish one style from another. Each table was attended to by a dedicated staff who - part guide, part chef - skilfully prepares the dish before their patrons’ eyes on the teppan grill. The result is a service experience that feels both personal and interactive, fostering a sense of intimacy and care that few establishments in London manage to achieve. After we devoured our Okonomiyaki of choice - the Tokyo and Osaka variant - we concluded our meal with their award-winning matcha ice cream. While the service at Abeno borders on exceptional, the food itself was, to our palates, somewhat more understated. To be clear, there is nothing substandard about Abeno’s offerings - far from it - but having had the privilege of sampling okonomiyaki across Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, I found the flavours here comparatively restrained. Setting aside the price, which runs nearly three times what one might expect to pay in parts of Asia, the pancakes lacked the robust, punchy seasoning that gives the dish its signature character. The Tokyo okonomiyaki in particular felt a touch under-seasoned, and the same might be said of their much-lauded matcha ice cream. While I appreciated the delicate tea notes and subtle sweetness, the texture fell short of the velvety smoothness one associates with Japanese dairy desserts. That said, to focus solely on these shortcomings would be to overlook what makes Abeno such a delight. The sheer attentiveness of the staff, the warmth of the atmosphere, and the simple joy of watching your meal come to life on the grill combine to create an experience that transcends mere taste. There is a sense of theatre and authenticity to the process - one that feels lovingly faithful to the spirit of Kansai cooking. All in all, Abeno remains an experience worth seeking out, not only for its well-executed okonomiyaki but for the generosity of its hospitality and the care with which each detail is considered. It may not transport you entirely to Osaka, but it offers a thoughtful and charming homage to its essence - right in the heart of London.”

“I have been using Dickensons since I bought my first house more than 35 years ago. I have since moved around a bit and they have acted for me on a further 5 occasions. The last one being this week where my house sale went through without any glitches. I can honestly say I have never encountered any problems with them. The staff are great, polite, informative and nothing seems too much trouble. The offices are a bit tired but don't let that put you off. The rates are more than reasonable and they talk you through everything. They are a professional lot and I wouldn't use anyone else. Keep up the good work.”

The fact that it's a boat makes it unique and the location is fantastic. The upper deck has a nice lounge area and there is free hot chocolate and other things in the back. Keats House

“John Keats regard is one of the best Poets in English literature. His short lived life is a poem on its own. His house is minimalistic and sober, not much wealth on display just pen and paper to bring words and thoughts alive which is far more valuable and thus wealth on its own. “I may die old of age to be forgotten by those who loved me and those who interacted with me. My laughter , my hugs , my kisses all washed away like tear drops throughout the years. Tear drops that did not fill a sea nor a lake, just a small fountain for that I am grateful””

“I highly recommend this place for families with young children! It’s amazing how much fun you can have inside a historic house. Each room had toys and displays that caught my three-year-old twin boys’ attention, and they spent the whole day there! It was raining, so they could play indoors as much as they wanted, which was perfect. It’s even better that National Trust members can visit for free. There are still places we haven’t seen yet, so I’d love to come back someday.”

“Absolutely loved our meal at Bandook! The chicken and lamb biryani were full of flavour – tender meat and fragrant rice. Would be great to have a spice-level option for the lamb. The samosa chaat was delicious but could use two samosas instead of one, especially for sharing. The fish and chicken wings were both standout – crispy, juicy, and packed with flavour. Washed it all down with a super refreshing nimboo pani. Friendly service and great atmosphere. A couple of small tweaks and it would be perfect. Highly recommend the restaurant. It is a bit on the pricy side which you'd expect for the area!”
