“Not a bad lil bar, we've visited a couple of times, one of the few places you can get inch's cider which is a favourite with us. We've eaten here before and it's good quality food, actually better than I was expecting but not quite the restaurant quality it's priced at. Good selection of drinks, priced similar to The Sunbeam and George Wallis, with the food, the outdoor area and sports on I can't help but think this place would be jam packed if they priced closer to Billy Wright or The Old Still. The outdoor area is really lovely, tucked away as it is the surrounding buildings dampen the traffic noise and the trees add shade and also help give the impression you're not in the middle of town. The plastic wicker chairs are really comfortable the whole area was clean and tidy, a really nice place to relax and sink a couple of cold ones after shopping before heading home.”

“My friend had her baby shower here over the weekend. The owners are wonderful and warm people, you can tell they genuinely care about their customers. We had an afternoon tea, the quality of the handmade food is excellent, especially the cakes! Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon. Although it’s around 50 minutes from me I’ll definitely be back.”

“After finally being allowed from Boris to eat out, I got a chance to pop in and try some tasty Indian food. Once ordered, drinks, popadoms and a selection of sauces were brought to our table. Followed by our hot food ordered which looked amazing, extremely tasteful, plentiful and totally delicious. Staff were so friendly, will most definitely be visiting again to try out some more of the menu, the alcohol drinks at the bar looked very appealing, definitely for a night out soon.”

“Mid week lunch for two with a two for one offer. Service was good with more than acceptable waiting time. Standard of food was excellent and freshly cooked to order. Would recommend.”

“Didn't have a booking but was seated straight away by friendly staff. Drinks were ordered and arrived quickly, lovely holdens pink gin and pint of glow. Our food was fresh hot and very lovely, lasagna with garlic bread & salad and large fish & chips. Don't usually have room for pudding but there was black forest sponge on the menu so had that, it was huge and delicious, gutted I had to leave a bit, and my hubby had a mini dessert platter. Food was delicious, restaurant was very clean and spacious and all the staff were friendly. Will look forward to another visit soon.”

“We recently booked a room with Stephen at the Whimsey, for a family gathering after our mother's funeral service, with the buriel just around the corner at Willenhall Lawn Cemetery. Stephen was so understanding to our situation and spoke with us a few times prior to check exactly what we would like. The Whimsey supplied all the catering which consisted of soup & sandwiches, curry & rice, also tea & coffee, at a very reasonable price. We had the whole pub to ourselves from 1-3pm, until he opened, however we could stay as long as we liked. We would like to thank Stephen and all at the Whimsey for making this day so special. We totally recommend this venue for any family events”

“We visited here on a recommendation and glad we did. Service and food were both excellent and good value for money. Don't let the exterior and decor put you off and the ambient music could be improved from UK pop to some more fitting India music. But I would let the food speak for itself. They don't have a licence to sell alcohol so you can if you wish take your own. On our visit on a Saturday early evening we didn't need a booking but as the evening progressed it got busier. With many regular diners and family groups. All in all a very enjoyable meal. Thanks guys.”

Really great find, just outside Cannock on the A5. Awesome parking (lots of disabled parks and parks for people with kids). Very friendly staff, great menu, very clean and welcoming. More like a restaurant than a pub (in a good way) but has a really well stocked bar, which I'm sure you could enjoy sitting up there with a cocktail or two. Dog friendly, in a sectioned area (which is great for those of us with dogs and also for those not wanting to dine around dogs). Toilets were clean and presentable. The food was very good, we had the chicken supreme, the corn fritters and a steak. All were really excellent. The service is efficient and professional, we had Steph & Suzie looking after us. We will definitely be back!”

Landlord welcomed us, reminding us that a welcome smile and chat is still available in pubs in this area Hope you try tgere veggue ootiins. I am not a veggie but it seemed a waste not to try domething differrnt. Just guve it ago and enjoy a relaxing evening or weekend treat.
