“Hooters isn't what I expected, in a good way. The food is absolutely outstanding! The best American food in Nottingham and the chicken is to die for. Far from being a seedy place where creepy blokes leer at vulnerable women, I've found Hooters to be quite the opposite. Young families sit around tables, sharing food together and it's a decent casual date location, with plenty of couples eating together. The menu is really good. It's lots of the same stuff in different combos, but this has two great benefits. First of all, with less ingredients you generally get better quality food and that's true here. Secondly, it's made a lot quicker than it otherwise would be as the chefs have more experience with each item than they would at a restaurant with many different items. I recommend the Cajun wings and the Parmesan garlic shrimp, with a side of tots. The coleslaw is a nice side to add. Beer options is probably the worst part of the menu. It's boring and really misses Blue Moon, with nothing similar since they removed it from the menu. I love it, I'll be going again with my fiance, or my work mates, or before the hockey. It's so good I've made it my standard go to food option in the city. Check it out.”
“Fantastic venue for all ages Me and my friends felt very safe here and the staff are brilliant. The landlord Richard is a great guy and keeps a very good pub and goes beyond to make the place the best in town.”
“The food was great with good portion sizes. My daughter and I visited on a Sunday afternoon and had the escovitch fish, prawns, cabbage, sweetcorn, carrots, plantain with rice and peas. Trevor and all of his staff were very welcoming, friendly and provided excellent customer service. We will definitely be returning to eat and 'party' at one of the themed events. Thank you for an enjoyable time.”
“Really pleasant little cafe, caters for recent vegetarians (such as myself!), had a full breakfast and hardly noticed there was no meat. Friendly staff, nice decor, reasonable prices.”
“This was a wonderful find and I have been back on a number of occasions. The food is amazing and the staff and atmosphere is brilliant. The sad note to this is that it is closing soon and we will be missing yet another excellent pub due to lack of custom. I’ll be very sad to see the end of yet another amazing establishment.”
“Amazing gem, so lucky to live close by. Customer service is impeccable and friendly, can-do attitude is so warm and lovely. All the staff are trained well - not a badly made coffee ever, and the service is always personable and tailored to you as an individual. We are blessed to have Portobello in our neighbourhood. It is a fun, relaxed vibe and the music is always top notch! I love the soft reggaeton play into the street, it brightens the day when doing mundane grocery tasks.”
“had such a lovely time tonight! joanna was the loveliest waitress ever, so welcoming and comforting! the food was amazing (the mozzarella sticks are always devine!) and the drinks were tasty!”
“A lovely family Sunday lunch was enjoyed by all. A large Sunday roast beef for me with Yorkshire Pudding, roast potatoes, kale, parsnip, carrot & stuffing. Friendly, quick & efficient service. We'll be back!”
“Well this really is a very special pub to visit. Its an absolute gem of a pub carved into the sand stone of Nottingham Castle. Its possibly the oldest pub in England but wasbis for sure is the warm welcome from the staff who are very friendly and knowledgeable of the ales and beers on offer. Lots of great seating inside and out and super fine ales. The beer choice really is very good. I look forward to coming back again soon.”
“We had the best, unexpected night at the Blues Dawg, called in just passing, the atmosphere was fantastic, the owner/manager brilliant, staff so friendly, relaxed good fun night, great live music to sing a long to, it made my wife's birthday, thank you. We will definitely be back.”
“Excellent food and service. Waiters attentive but not in your face. There was a big birthday party meal going on but staffing to accommodate”
“The Crimson Tree is a beautiful café with a unique, vintage atmosphere that feels warm and inviting. The service was excellent, and the staff were very welcoming. We had the Mediterranean breakfast, Brioche French toast, and a hot chocolate. Everything was delicious! I especially loved the flavors, though I do wish the potatoes and falafel in the Mediterranean dish were baked instead of boiled. Overall, a great experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back!”
“Great service Great venue Food was nice Roast dinner about £20 Burger and chips about £17 Good quality food”
“First time visiting and it won’t be the last! Food was piping hot and so tasty. Young girl serving us was super and its such a shame there wasn’t an option to add TIP to the card payment as we didn’t have cash on us. We know for next time! Thank you all. The Lamb was soooo nice!”
“This was one of the best Sunday roasts that we’ve eaten in recent memory - delicious food and great service. We loved the cosy atmosphere and the contemporary decor - the team were friendly and service was good. Will be returning for sure!”
“First time here and I was really impressed! The roast chicken dinner was the best I’ve ever had – the chicken was succulent, tasty, and perfectly cooked. Everything was homemade, with the stuffing being especially good, and the gravy was rich and full of flavor. The waitress was very pleasant and the service was quick. I’ll definitely be coming back!”
“Ordered from the brunch menu. Cumberland sausage cob, and halloumi and roast pepper toasted sandwich. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Good service and pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely go back.”
“Its great. A real pub. A must-try-it pub.”
“Held my late Mum's wake here. Quite a small affair, so we chose to have an area of the bar. The staff were so helpful from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble and all delivered with a smile. The food was excellent and commented upon by all. Big thank you to all the staff for making it a lovely end to the day.”
“Lovely stop off on a nice local walk for a bit of tapas and a couple of pints. Great atmosphere in what is one of Stapleford’s nicer watering holes.”
“Despite being really busy they managed to seat us at a comfortable table. They advised was going to be 30 mins which we were happy at, and it was pretty much bang on 30 mins when it arrived and it was well worth the wait. The staff were very pleasant and food was spot on. First time since it had the make over but we will back again! Thank you so much.”
“Stayed one night, in Grantham for a funeral. Staff were excellent, had a meal in the evening which was very nice. Lovely spacious room with loads of storage, ironing board and iron, good hairdryer.big bath towels. I left something behind and Mel the receptionist rang me and it was soon sorted. If we are ever up in Grantham again no hesitation in staying at the the Angel and Royal.”
“Stopped off for a quick bite on the way past on a detour off a chocker M1; very warm welcome and very tasty fresh pizza. Lots of four legged friends as well so ours was very welcome too. Would stop again.”
“Popped in for a Beer. It had only just opened, so it was very quiet! Nice welcome from the bar person, great pint! Thank you!”
“Excellent lunch at Six. Lovely sunny day watching the sun fade into the west. Fine cocktails, friendly service, wonderful food. And some amazing views. Well worth a visit.”
“It was our first time in The Nelson, for a Sunday lunch, and we were really impressed with everything. The service was friendly and prompt, the food delicious and plentiful and the Landlord beer and Guiness excellent. One huge advantage of the pub is its located just a couple of minutes walk to a path alongside the Trent. Just ideal for a pre or post meal walk.”
“Came with a friend for dinner, she has been a few times and said it was good. She was not wrong, the food was delicious, staff were very friendly and also gave good advice, and the atmosphere was very welcoming too. Would definitely visit again next time I'm around! I ordered the steak burger, my friend ordered the chicken burger - we cut them both in half and shared them to try both. Delicious! I had the cheese board for dessert which was really nice too. Would recommend to anyone!”
“Looked and felt just like a completely normal pub but all of the food was vegan! This is exactly the sort of place I love. The food was incredible, I went for the tofish tacos and as it was Friday I got this plus a pint for £12. Relatively quiet at 6pm on a Friday, plenty of tables to choose from and not too noisy that we could chat easily”
“Came all the way from Manchester to eat here again. Pizza is flavorful, chips are crunchy, doner meat is juicy, prices are great(10 quid for the doner calzone) and it's right by the train station. Very friendly staff, low wait times. Would recommend.”
