“We stayed here for 2 nights for a friends wedding, the very kind receptionist upgraded our room and the room was absolutely lovely. Jacuzzi bath, very spacious, the bed was so comfy. We had dinner when we first arrived and it was one of the best meals we have had, food was excellent, service was superb. The atmosphere and decor was fabulous. Such a lovely place to stay or to just have a meal out. Thankyou for a lovely stay!”
“Went to see the pantomime of Cinderella it was fantastic, great show loads of participation great sound, music and lighting. Well done to everyone involved! Oh and the seats had a great view”
“Superb meal served by Ronnie. We had the Sunday set menu: Calamari Chipotle chicken with chilli sauce 8oz ribeye steak 9oz rump steak Unfortunately didn't have lemon tart in stock so had the Raspberry Torte which was superb Sticky toffee. Pudding. Although it was only mentioned in conversation that we came here today as part of a birthday celebration. Ronnie went above and beyond to bring out a special birthday brownie treat. Highly appreciated. Loved the food and the atmosphere and the service was spot on.”
“Atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. To be honest I have eaten in indian restaurants since 1986 and the himalayan curry madras is the best curry I have ever had. Beautiful.”
“The Black Country Arms is a well established pub in Walsall. The pub is situated at the top of Walsall town, near the medieval church, unlike other pubs in Walsall there is actually parking outside which is a bonus. The inside of the pub is very spacious and has a unique layout. There is a wide selection of drinks at the pub to choose from so you will easily find something to enjoy. Getting served is a friendly and speedy encounter, if you wanted to engage in conversation the bar staff are more than happy to do so, they are a good bunch. If you haven’t visited before it is a must, good chance you will visit again.”
“We attended for a family Christmas meal today. The food and drink were really tasty! But what made it so fantastic was all the staff were so friendly and helpful especially the lovely lady with short brown hair! Thank you!”
“Such a great concert venue we had to return. This time to see Gold to Rio and an overnight stay at the hotel. Book a room and get 1 concert ticket included…. Nice bonus.”
“This fantastic pub and it's great punters is an absolute must for anyone who loves a real ale. You will not be disappointed. Advise you get there at opening time.”
“A fantastic cosy and welcoming atmosphere with a great variety of beers, ales, ciders and spirits to choose from. Ample seating inside and out in the garden. Kids were welcome until 8pm. There was live music from a very talented local singer songwriter and both staff and customers were extremely friendly. Will definitely visit again soon!”
“A nice cosy pub in the heart of Wednesfield bringing you a great selection of real Ales largers and ciders. The vine also consists of a selection of spirits if the pints don't take your fancy. The staff where friendly and knowledgeable of there selection as to be exspected from a black country ales pub. Bar snacks are available in the form of cobs ,pork pies, black pudding and a selection of crisps and scratchings.”
“Marie was very friendly and lovely. Always asking if we were okay and happy to help. The special Tuna Steak was beautiful and so was the bread and butter pudding!”
“Friendly independent free house serving real ales and cider. Cobs, pork pies and scotch eggs (homemade) available with usual selection of snacks. Pizzas available on Thursday Well worth a visit if you're in Walsall.”
“My wife and I made our first visit to 'The Stump' ( Mount Pleasant) since the 1980's . After a recommendation on Facebook we decided to call in for a late night drink after playing Bridge. The Mount Pleasant is open until 23:00 and serves until 22:45 . We had checked on the Real Ale Finder site that the Mount Pleasant regularly updates and found that they had an interesting Abbeydale Hazelnut and Coffee Stout on. They regularly change 9 of the real ales that they have on offer and a chalk board lists the beers and prices . The Mount Pleasant has a long ( thin) layout with a car park ( also long and thin on its right hand side ) . We accessed the pub via a rear door from the car park . A covered smoking deck is at the back then the single door access ( with a single step) leafs into a corridor that runs the length of the pub with single doorways to enter the front and rear bar rooms . The pub was warm and friendly with a group of people at another table enjoying snack type food . We had a half of the Abbeydale Stout and were pleasantly surprised by the price of only £3.90 for a pint of this 5.2% strength Stout. We enjoyed it so much we squeezed in another half before closing time . The service was friendly and when I mentioned that the last time we visited the Mount Pleasant was in the 1980's the landlady jokingly replied that she was not even born then. It is not surprising that The Mount Pleasant is in the 2025 Camra Good Beer Guide . We both enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend The Stump as a 'must visit ' if you are in the area .”
“An excellent restaurant! The prices are very reasonable and the choices from the menu are amazing, they have gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options, so there is definitely something for everyone. We had the four courses and thought the food was perfect. There's lots of choice for drinks too, non-alcoholic, wines, beers, spirits and cocktails. The restaurant has a very friendly and warm atmosphere, so this is a great place for a date, meal with a friend or to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.”
“Is this the best pub in Wolvo for real ale drinkers. Think 9 pumps on one had gone. Luckilly these update Real Ale Finder, albeit may be 4 days out was glad to see what could be described as packed almost solid pre 10pm. First off Attic Brewing Midnight followed by a real gem Magpie Brewing Ten For Bliss awesome. Its a place i would be happy to go up town on my own and venture in. Staff seem great along with the clientel it attracts, whats not to like plus they dont take the p on prices. This will be a regular in future 5 mile away over the local GK pub 150 yards away.”
“My interest was piqued when I saw few reservations were available a month in advance. As soon as the food arrived, it all made sense. The portions are fantastic and the starters are almost mains. It's rare for me not to finish a meal but I had chips and almost half a pizza left over for lunch! Staff were all great and heartening to see the business doing well.”
“Proper real ale pub right by Wolverhampton station. Holdens 110th Anniversary weekend meant £3 pints and superb pork and stuffing baps too. Well worth planning a long connection if you're passing through!”
“We visited today for our Christmas get together and we’re so impressed with this place. Kelly served us from start to finish and she’s a breath of fresh air. An absolute credit to your team. Food was delicious and service on point. We will definitely be back thank you again Kelly and the chefs!”
“Small cosy Ale bar. A BCA bar with a great selection and clean Ale. A must go visit for all Ale enthusiasts.”
“The food at Tapri is fabulously flavoursome! I’ve been to many curry restaurants, but none have the depth of flavour and perfect blend of spices that Tapri does. The staff always give us such a warm welcome and really take care of us every time we visit. If you haven’t been yet and you’re craving a tasty feast, you must try it. I honestly can’t recommend it enough!”
“Absolutely amazing food staff were so nice very welcoming and friendly it was the first time we have been and will definitely be going back for more fantastic atmosphere lovely place thank you had a brilliant time ❤❤❤❤”
“Food is absolutely amazing. Massive portions for reasonable price. Polish traditional cuisine executed in a way everybody will find something.”
“Great old pub. Bitter is wonderful. £2.70 ales on Monday as at Nov 24. Pork pies and cobs no longer served due to Brewery concerns over allergens, but Spar next door.”
