“Well now, what do we have here? A little slice of Italy has swaggered into Ballymena, donned its fanciest apron, poured itself a cocktail, and promptly stolen my heart. Gatto’s, you seductive little minx, where have you been all my life? Let’s start with the opening act: the Carne Platter — a carnivorous symphony of sizzling, seasoned magnificence that hit the table like a meat-based fanfare. Chargrilled, marinated, and unapologetically meaty, it set the tone for what would be an evening of gluttonous delight. Each bite was a hug from Nonna, if Nonna had a penchant for fire-grilled finesse and a cheeky wink. Then came the main event: the Pollo Alla Veronese — a dish that deserves to be serenaded by a gondolier while fireworks explode tastefully in the background. Tender chicken, cloaked in a rich, dreamy sauce, with flavour notes so intricate they could compose an opera. Every bite was a flirtation with perfection. My taste buds? Positively scandalised and begging for more. Around the table, my fellow diners were deep in gastronomic romance with their own dishes. Pizzas that were crisp yet chewy with toppings as bold as an Italian soap opera. And those sirloin steaks cooked so well they nearly applied for citizenship. Searing on the outside, blushing pink within — the sort of steak that makes you want to write poetry and take up woodcarving. To wash it all down? A few cocktails that danced their way across the palate, charming and boozy in all the right ways. A few pints of Madri added that continental edge — and gave the illusion we were somewhere warmer than Ballymena, at least until someone opened the door. And the bill? Surprisingly reasonable. The kind of total that makes you double check it, nod slowly, and feel vaguely smug about the whole affair. Gatto’s isn’t just great food — it’s a culinary cuddle with a handshake from value-for-money. This was my first visit, and I can confirm with absolute certainty: it won't be my last. Bravo, Gatto's. Bravissimo.”

“Ursula is so accommodating, friendly and i couldn't be thankful enough for how much she cares about customers. Due to diet restrictions there's nowhere in Crumlin we can get a take away and Ursula has ensured that the food we order is safe for my partner to eat. Danni is also a star and extremely friendly and helpful. Could not recommend enough!”

“Friendly, efficient and a 5 STAR service from beginning to end. I ordered a Gas Patio Heater on a Thursday evening via their website and it was delivered the Next Day - Excellent. There was a manufacturers fault with one 'strut' which was retorted via email from their website and they responded the same day - Excellent.., They then took only 2 Days to get a replacement part to me. Have to give 5 STARS!!!”

“This community farm is on the edge of the motorway beside the bog meadows, it’s a credit to the people of the area of st James who started it and keep it running, it has all types of farm animals on it and birds , in the spring months it sells flower baskets and vegetables, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and it is a great way to stretch your legs and see farm animals at the same time, would recommend this community farm to anyone it’s well worth a visit”

“Crawfordsburn is a great place for whatever kind of day out you have in mind. Inland country park walks, coastal path walk (Helen's bay to Bangor), grassy areas for games, the beach, a nice café, and the ice-cream van! We were there for a church bbq and were able to make use of the activity/scout centre, which has a great covered area for any unsuspecting showers. Lots of picnic tables and toilet facilities. Ample parking in the main carpark and toilets are also available at the café.”

“I took the train to Bangor and then walked from Bangor to Hollywood along the coastal path. Some sections of this path are paved, and some other sections remain as footpaths. The areas close to the Bangor and Hollywood are maintained as promenades. It’s a fairly easy walk with occasional slopes, but there are plenty of benches to sit and rest a little. The section from Bangor to Helen’s bay is busy, and the section from Helen’s bay is quiet until the Cultra area. It is a calm and peaceful walking path, with people walking dogs and jogging/exercising. It’s generally very quiet except for the noise of waves breaking. Salt air.”

“I first visited in 1971 as a child. Since then I’ve visited the museum over 20 times. I always see and learn something new. The staff and volunteers are welcoming and knowledgeable. We pick a nice day and walk the full park, thoroughly enjoying the peace and quiet especially in the rural sections. A special place.”

“Fantastic walk up into hills above East Belfast. Great views across the city and a beautiful glen with waterfall and light dappling through deciduous trees. Even a 12 to 14 hundred year old hill fort at the top (not in great repair but still worth seeing). Be warned- the climb is steep including high steps. Also some steps and fences really need maintenance work done to them - stout shoes are essential if there's been any rain recently (ok all the time - this is Belfast!) and this isn't for anyone with limited mobility.”

“A very relaxed and enjoyable meander. For that little bit of fresh air, Cairn Wood was a great option today. Every dog walker we encountered was well mannered and in control of their dog; excellent to see that! We did notice a few dog land mines however; this was a well kept public walk for sure. Several options of which trail you might choose to follow, all marked up well at each junction. The coffee served at Batch (in the car park) served up a decent, and perfectly hot, cup of coffee! The tray bake options are all pretty decent!!”

“First visited this restaurant about a year ago and have been a number of times since despite it being quite a distance from where we live. We visited again tonight and once again it was excellent. Booked table online, which is very handy. Waiting staff are very friendly and efficient. Drinks arrived quickly and glasses were sparkling clean. I had the Nasi Lemak which was really delicious served with coconut rice. My partner had beef curry which he said was one of the best he's had. Really worth a visit and we'll definitely be back soon.”

“We came here with a small child, there were ramps available for wheelchair users and the service was very good and considerate when we were ordering. Once we ordered the food it came fast, the portions were big. Although one of the curry bowls had a few visible chips at the rim. The pineapple rice was expected to have a noticeable pineapple taste but we couldnt taste much. Everything we had was very nice although some of the flavours were a little exotic for out taste. I would recommend this resteraunt and I may go soon here in the future to try more dishes.”
