“Hidden away, this gem of a rock bar is definitely one to visit. The bar area is fairly small, but they have an area upstairs that houses bands. Didn't have time to go up and have a watch, but sounded good. Drinks were cheap and the music was good. Next time I'm in the area will definitely be visiting again.”

“Really liked this place. Came here on a Wednesday evening with booking a table beforehand. I would suggest you'd do the same as it was full for a Wednesday (always a good sign). We ordered drinks, two small plates and two large plates and it came out of the kitchen really quickly (we were eating main meal in the next 20-25 minutes). After that we decided to have a dessert and with that it took one whole hour to order, get the desserts, finish and pay. So the service was a bit slow in the end but nothing to complain about as they were really nice and friendly. I loved the food, fairly priced and loved the fresh ingredients. One thing that bothered me was the lamb's lettuce on everything. Could be at least flavored, or maybe not there at all? I loved the atmosphere of the place, pretty decor, nice music...somebody really thought this through. Overall a great experience and would definitely visit again.”

“absolutely zero complaints, first time i had been and received delicious food and will be going again! there is a huge range of food and drinks, plenty to choose from. ordered online and had the *cheese and 2 onion rings* and added plenty of toppings. really really recommend it, if was absolutely delicious and the food was ready before the time I had selected to pick up, so it was a very smooth experience. the cheesy chips where just as delicious along with the milkshake!”

The food was amazing - he had the chicken teriyaki ramen and I had the Unagi Don rice bowl and both were delicious. “Had a lovely evening at pizza express being served by the lovely Paulina! She was bubbly and attentive, helping us sort out issues with the app and so we were able to utilize the deals available. “Thank you Hove Place for a wonderful Christmas lunch! Here goes a gushing review… Today my partner and I had booked in for Christmas Day lunch and it didn’t disappoint. We thought the £145 price per person was a bit steep (especially as there was a £6 supplement on the steak), but we’ve eaten in there before so we were confident it wouldn’t disappoint, and it didn’t! Firstly, we were greeted warmly by all of the staff, I thought they might be a little jaded after the first lunch sitting, but they were all full of energy and festive cheer. We enjoyed every single course; I loved my venison starter and the Christmas pudding dessert. We both agreed that the turkey was the best we’ve both ever eaten. Neither of us are huge turkey fans and I only eat it once a year at Christmas and generally regret it. We were served one thick slice of turkey each, in a stack with stuffing and a Yorkshire pudding, so we both anticipated to experience a mouthful of dry meat. How wrong we were; it was succulent and moist (yes I said that word). The food came out a good pace and the service from the lovely Courtney, our waitress, was great. The ambience of the pub is perfect for Christmas so we’re definitely going back again.”

“Atmosphere was a bit quiet as there was a huge storm outside so it was less busy than usual. It's normally lively and enjoyable though. Food was exceptionally good, as it always is here. Great value, especially with the annual members card. Fantastic variety, catering for veggies and vegans too, yay! Would love a bit more vegan protein that isn't fake meat, but hey, I'm not complaining, just gently suggesting! Staff are always friendly, capable, available and competent. All in all a reliably fantastic restaurant with great prices, wonderful food, super service and a friendly vibe. Highly recommended!”

“My sister and I made a pilgrimage here from the U.S., as our 3rd great grandparents ran the pub about 200 years ago. We happened in on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the Sunday roast along with l excellent service. Everything was delicious and top notch. “Nice experience. My friend and I we really did enjoyed our meals here in this rainy December day. Very nice staff. The food is really tasty. We've got chicken and chinese mushrooms soup, chicken noodles soup, fried egg rice with sweat and sour pork, fried egg rice with sweat and sour chicken, and extra chicken fried noodles ...absolutely yummy! Perfect dish, perfect taste. Dessert: toffee apple and toffee banana.”

“Came here this afternoon woth my partner and was greated at the door by the manager who showed us to our table, we were promptly served by mitch who acted professionally and welcoming. The pizzas were delicious, large with a good ammount of toppings, the doughballs were hot and fluffy and the halloumi bites were well seasoned. The passion fruit cocktails were lovely and sweet with a good kick to them. For gluten free dining i cant recommend this place enough, the staff took great care and all gluten free food had stickers making them clearly marked. 10/10”

“I would recommend the Empire Grill to anyone. The food is always delivered hot and the staff are really friendly. Their home made chicken fillet burger is the best I've had. I order from them fairly often and I have never had a problem with them.”
