I give the food a 4/5 as I didn’t really enjoy the seaweed custard as it didn’t taste of anything, just like a plain cold custard. This was the only disappointing dish on the menu and I appreciate the skill of the dish, even though the flavour was lacking. The best dish for us was the dessert as it was unbelievable and ticked every box! We also loved the Cod, full of flavour!”

When I came across this delightful cafe at Monckton Combe, I had a lovely wedge of coffee and walnut cake, with a cup of my favourite chai latte tea, which was equally good The whole stretch of my walk along the canal was absolutely fantastic seeing all the narrow boats or barges, whichever is the correct definition The railway line to Bath is adjacent to the canal Being largely rural, always ensure that you are physically capable. “We stopped in for a bite to eat while visiting Castle Combe, and have to say we had a fantastic time! The staff were really friendly, and so helpful. “I can’t recommend The Nursery highly enough. My daughter started there at 15 months and to say that there were tears and anxiety for mum and baby is an understatement. The Nursery looked after us and cared for us both so well and continue to do so. There is a real focus on relationship building and understanding the children’s individual personalities which has been so valuable for us. I’m sure my daughter prefers her days at nursery to home now and happily waves me off. The quality of provision and the range of activities that is on offer is amazing and the focus on exploring the outdoors whatever the weather is great too.
