“Stopped in this morning for a coffee and enjoyed the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Staff welcomed me in and made sure to take details for Track and Trace straight away. I can highly recommend this place for some delicious coffee!”

“Honestly a hidden gem for families with children. Plenty of toys to keep them occupied and a very generous menu that caters to their allergies and all at a great price! All the adults had coffee, sandwich, and cake and it was all delicious! The staff were also super friendly and patient. Can't recommend enough!”

“My favourite stop between Bristol and Bath. Absolutely beautiful and a lovely attraction to add to your journey. Cheap prices and a fantastic range of different meals I am stunned at what they can provide! A wonderful place to stop if you're cycling past on the Bristol / Bath Cycle Path. There is also a fantastic charity called wheelers that runs next to the waiting rooms that helps people with accessibility needs enjoy the wonders of cycling, I would highly recommend!”

“REALLY polite service. Me and my friend ate here for breakfast- we bought fluffy pancakes (one plate each), an ice latte and a Diet Coke. The drinks were perfect with a decent amount and we each got 2 pancakes on our plate- there is a variety of options for toppings on the pancakes- I got berry compote and my friend got the Cadbury's chocolate spread and banana- Each had a large amount of topping and it was warm and freshly cooked. Would definitely come back again!”

“This pub was welcoming, and a relaxing place to have lunch. The menu had a good selection of typical pub dishes. Simple, rather than sophisticated, my steak sandwich was delicious, my wife enjoyed her quiche. Portions were generous. Pretty good value too.”

“The Sunday Roast was our first and we loved it! The service was friendly and attentive. The mix of flavors was outstanding - braised cabbage, potatoes and roast beef all surpassed expectations. The restaurant felt homey and comfortable.”

“Came for a drink and a snack around 16:00, so the place was pretty much empty. Bartender was extremely nice and confirmed the kitchen was open! Got ciders and our first ever fish and chips (in England). Delicious! Delicious, and no judgment from staff for sharing (we're light eaters). Great pub near the Roman baths, definitely recommend.”

“Stumbled across this traditional, proper, English pub and what a refreshing change to a more modern boozer. A wide range of spirits, especially the rum selection. The barman was of a rare breed, where he looked after his customer's needs and was an ear for anyone with troubles or tales to tell. The owner/landlord was a character you rarely see nowadays. Buy him a shot and make a friend. The music, classic British. The decor classic British. With pictures of spitfires, British forces and Nigel Farage what more can you ask for. Oh, and beer is great. Try the black rat for cider lovers. Hope to stumble across it again soon. Cheers for the beers.”

“We visited on the off chance and were surprised at how helpful and friendly the staff were. We returned the following week and discovered the same. We were helped setting up Wi-Fi to plan a future journey while having a drink. If you want a quiet evening drink definitely a pub to visit.”

“Cleo and Meg were friendly, helpful and gave me lots of info and advice. With their help I successfully purchased an LED to replace an old fluorescent tube, and, as they advised, it was very easy for me to fit. And they happily disposed of the old tube for me too! Am very pleased, thank you!”

“Smart, slick and the coffee was pretty good and at a sensible price. The cakes looked good but I didn't try them. Ever since Liz Truss was in power coffee has gone up, chocolate too, I can't think why. But at £2.40 that's good compared to some places at £3.45.”

It’s the little things - name placard on door, beautifully presented gifts on the bed, warm welcomes from every single staff member, gorgeous grounds and perfect cocktails and a lovely breakfast made this stay absolutely incredible. Walk everywhere (ok … downhill - but then just Uber up!) I felt bathed in luxury the entire time I was there. Large, well appointed rooms. Luxurious bed and bedding! And, very serene. Go live your own Bridgerton moment! You deserve it.”
