“Fantastic concept for a wonderful afternoon getting crafty. Great food, lovely service, and gorgeous surroundings! The prettiest cafe on North St! Crafts, coffee and cake - what’s not to love?”
“Great place to stop, incredible breakfasts and coffee ☕️”
“This is my favourite coffee shop. The hot chocolate is the best in Thornbury. So good that I am trying to get it stocked in my place of work! Grace and T are such a lovely team working in a Sat. Always friendly, smiley and happy to help!”
“Wonderful community cafe with delicious food, at incredibly reasonable prices... Usually about 4 dishes to choose from, plus cake, teas, coffees etc. Fab "pay it forward" scheme also. It is inside the Easton Family Centre, which has rooms available to hire and lots of community activities going on. A gem!”
“Everything about this place works. Arrived as a group of five cyclists on a Sunday and was greeted with beaming smiles from the two girls working there. The coffee tasted great, the cakes were well priced and tasty and with the bikes in the rack, we relaxed in the sun outside long enough to squeeze in another coffee. Definitely coming back.”
“You know a cafe is good when there is a queue! Fortunately we only waited 10 minutes to be seated. The food was delicious, service was speedy and the price was very competitive. The pistachio latte was incredible, as was all the food. Can highly recommend.”
“Very busy and lucky to get a table for three. Lovely decor and nice crockery. Didn't have cake but they looked fabulous. Toilets nice and clean with soaps and air fresheners which are sold in the Soap shop. Great toiletry/gift shop reasonably priced goods.”
“Jaw to the floor fantastic. First time here after a fancy meal out and so glad we spent less than a tenner on a waffle rather than having a dessert at our original place. We shared a kinder bueno waffle between two of us and it came with a whole chocolate bar, kinder sauce, ice cream, as well as soft serve and chocolate flakes. 10/10 would recommend. Really shocked by the other reviews, this will become a new favourite for me ”
“Delicious food and beverage lovingly prepared and served. Highly recommended.”
“You can rent the place for big or medium parties :). They offer drinks that you guests can buy and you can bring your food to. they have a backyard that you can use :)”
“Loving the new Galleries cafe revamp in Freshford! Amazing that its now open longer hours and at weekends. Perfect tea stop after a country walk! We had great service from our lovely waitress Lucy, a scrummy selection of salads, quiches, sandwiches and delicious cakes, and great coffee too, all in the most beautiful location. Idyllic!”
“Very nice cafe. Really nice breakfast. We will definitely come here again. Clean and tidy place throughout.”
“I was cycling along the Bristol Road when I hit a stone and my bike fell into the road. The owner of the cafe ran straight over with a first aid kit and offered to help. I was shaken up but didn't feel I needed medical attention so she invited us into the cafe to recover. She very kindly made myself and my partner a cup of tea and was very friendly. I had visited the cafe years ago and could see that it had been refurbished to a very high standard and was clean and inviting. After drinking our tea and having a lovely chat with the owner, we went to pay and she would not accept. This was incredibly heart warming and such a lovely gesture. Thank you so much! I would highly recommend Zubs for cleanliness, great food and a warm and friendly atmosphere!”
“OMG what a day! Me and my partner had a cheese tour as my birthday present. God do they know alot about Cheese. We were so blown away by the proces it was so interesting day. Were going back as food in Cafe was amazing.”
“So grateful to Natalie and her team for letting us hold our joint 60th birthday party at Café on the Hill on a Saturday night for approx 40 people. All our non local guests were saying what an amazing venue it is and how lucky we are to have it on our doorstep. The locals already knew that. At night it’s lit up inside with hundreds of fairy lights, very pretty and we were allowed to put up our own party decorations and do our own food. Natalie was very helpful organising a licence extension, staff to man the bar (a big thank you to Hannah and Glen, the cocktail maker) and a gorgeous carrot cake from her cake supplier for our birthday cake. She also had various options for food before we decided to do our own. The garden room out the back was the ideal spot for our silent disco. A great night was had by all, thank you Natalie, Glen and Hannah.”
“Beautiful setting in the remaining standing part of the old castle. Fairly short menu - mainly toasties and sandwiches - alongside cakes, crisps and hot and cold drinks. Decent outside seating area to enjoy during warmer weather. Shared a bacon sandwich with the small child - impressive amount of bacon, and toasted local bread. Toilet was a little grim but otherwise all good.”
“A little gem in front of college green serving an excellent coffee. The coffee here tastes different and refreshing. It's a small independent outlet run by lovely welcoming people. They also have excellent food options with snacks and lunches including a full vegan menu. The interior is beautiful and done tastefully, there is bigger space downstairs which can accommodate more people. Do visit this place to have an excellent coffee when you are in the heart of the city and in middle of all the action, it's quite a refreshing break.”
“We visited the Bistro after a quick shop around 4.30ish today. I just want to say the lads behind the Bistro counter downstairs were so kind and welcoming, best customer service we have received in a long time. My daughter spilt her drink and was a bit tearful with embarrassment however one of the lovely guys helped clear it up for us and made her feel at ease. Sorry I didnt get your name but you were fab!”
“We went to Cafe Rouge in the evening for an early dinner. They have an interesting menu with ample veg/non veg and vegan options. The staff is very courteous. We paid around 40£ for 2 adults and a kid.”
“I don't understand all the negative reviews. This cafe is a very pleasant experience. We were served by Clara who was excellent. After sitting down, she brought our coffee and food quickly with a warm smile, wished us a good day and checked if we needed anything else. Coffee is great. Atmosphere is busy but buzzy. I will definitely be returning.”
“A really lovely place to eat. However, on Sunday they ran out of cooked food by about 3:00 p.m. Which I suppose is okay but I really wanted my fish and chips..... On the other hand, the cakes are magnificent!”
“Wow! What an amazing camp, from aerial tricks to dance routines and arts and crafts the day is filled with so much to do. My daughter loved every second and can’t wait to go back. Jodie and her team made the day so much fun and kept us updated throughout the day with videos and photos. A brilliant camp and highly recommended to anyone who wants to try something different, we will definitely be returning!!”
“Great experience here with George. Got the cut exactly as I wanted, good chat and good background music. Highly recommended.”
“Local favourite venue. Excellent coffee, great food, slightly expensive. We paid £25 for two flat whites, a wrap and pulled pork with chips. Biker's hang out, mostly older guys, not too noisy. Recently expanded and much bigger than was. Lots of outdoor seating when it's nice. About 20 car parking spaces. OK weekdays but likely to be full at weekends. Enjoy!”
“Fantastic food, good service. The chef was saying about making corned beef hash and bubble and squeak (with a mushroom, tomato and poached egg topping). I was very happy and can't wait to go back.”
“A cosy coffee house that serves up absolutely gorgeous coffee! With options of what coffee rbase you want, to give the flavour you exactly want in your drink. It’s a lovely setting with inviting and welcoming staff who are extremely personable as well as skilled at making coffee! If you’re ever in Bristol, this lovely Pro Palestinian place deserves your custom. Enjoy a freshly made coffee in the old town, enjoying life walk on by.”
“Exceptional coffee beans, my favourite independent coffee roasting house, also excellent at posting out a wide variety of very interesting coffees.”
“Went to get food and had the pup with us, asked if it was ok for her to come in, which they ladies said yes. Got a lovely baguette and the most amazing nutella brownie. Will defo be going back!”
“Popped in here for lunch today rather spontaneously, and I’m glad I did. Lovely, welcoming staff, and authentic Thai food with a real home-cooked, comforting feel. Definitely a hidden gem worth visiting!”
