“Popped in here for lunch today rather spontaneously, and I’m glad I did. Lovely, welcoming staff, and authentic Thai food with a real home-cooked, comforting feel. Definitely a hidden gem worth visiting!”
“So happy with my hair, came in for a colour and blow dry. Noy talked me through the colour and explained what she was going to be doing and made sure we were on the exact same page before starting. The colour is beautiful and exactly what I asked for and left with a gorgeous blow dry too, so happy! Such a great experience and can’t wait to come back.”
“Invited to a small 70th birthday party. Absolutely great buffet and super cake. Super big 'thank you' to the staff for decorating the cafe too”
“Manager was super helpful and we would go often to perfecto based in the hospitality 10/10 coffee hub”
“Went to get food and had the pup with us, asked if it was ok for her to come in, which they ladies said yes. Got a lovely baguette and the most amazing nutella brownie. Will defo be going back!”
“I had a wonderful Sunday lunch here with my sister, and we were thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious with outstanding quality. Highly recommended!”
“Really great venue, such a unique space. Huge room with dramatic sky light. Nowhere else like it in Bath. Coffee & juices excellent. Enjoyed my bacon bap with great hash browns. Young staff but very much on the ball. Recommended.”
“Came here the day of the street fair with my kids. Food was good and the staff were very good. Especially Polly, she was very patient with my kids and was really helpful and friendly.”
“As a group of 6 cyclist we stopped at Jackdaws for lunch on our way through Malmesbury. We sat outside so were able to have our bikes close to us. We received a very warm welcome and there was a good choice of food. The service was quick and the food fresh and tasty. A lovely place to stop.”
“Had a coffee and breakfast box today. The food was very tasty and great quality. The staff are always friendly, helpful and polite. Lovely place to go and have your morning coffee.”
“I have been coming here with my partner for a few months quite regularly now, it is consistently fantastic. The food is delicious, especially the sausage roll and fritata. The service is always excellent too, and very friendly!! Atmosphere is a 10/10. And the fig, pistachio and lime cake has to be one of the most amazing cakes i have ever tasted. Coffee 10/10. Safe to say Fed is my number one favourite cafe at the moment. Thank you Fed!”
“Went for Saturday lunch. Quite a wide choice of food with a different price for each plate size. I had a medium goat curry on the bone with rice for £10. The food was excellent with an authentic Caribbean taste. Highly recommended.”
“Sooo good! Great coffee and amazing biscoffee slice. Friendly staff.”
“Wild Thing is a super fun, vibrant shop packed with way more goodies than you’ll find online. Think sequins, sparkles, faux fur, and festival magic on every rail. It’s like stepping into a dressing-up dreamland. If you love bold, playful fashion, this place is a must-visit. You’ll leave smiling—and probably covered in glitter.”
“Very good efficient, friendly service. Good provision of vegan produce - the soy latte was smooth and the vegan carrot cake even better. Very good VFM & definitely visiting again!”
“The college is the best place ever and the staff are amazing and the students are funny to be with”
“My fave place for a morning hot chocolate and pastry. The food here is always outstanding. Their ham and cheese croissant is incredible. Had steak and frites a while back and still thinking about it! Highly recommend!”
“I've been visiting this shop for a while now as their Brazilian espresso is spot on. Have bought various bits and pieces in here and the staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. They'll quickly sort out your coffee needs and are also friendly if you feel like saying "hi". The location is 'effin handy too...”
“Good food, Friendly service and a clean tidy place to eat.”
“What a lovely cafe. Although they have an outdoor seating area, the inside is absolutely gorgeous: surrounded by plants and good quality gifts, it feels a little like sitting in an orangery. We had a block booking. The staff worked really hard to cater for us all (including alot of vegetarians) and the service was great. Dogs are welcome, water provided and there's even a jar of dog biscuits available to buy individually. As for the humans, the food was really nice, the tea, hot and plentiful. Definitely going back.”
“I went here because I wanted to get myself a drink and sit down. Got myself a smoothie which was pretty good but the ice cream was excellent. The portion size is quite large I think and definitely worth the money, it also tasted great. Really good”
“We came for their Tuesday tapas deal. The food was delicious and it was great to be able to get all day brunch, Eggs Benedict for dinner was a game changer! Even after that and 2 rounds of tapas we were tempted to get a third round (we gave in!), and the food obviously did not disappoint! The staff were friendly, would definitely come again!”
“Drinks were okay, staff were friendly and polite, it cost you £1.50 for a cup that you can reuse”
“Popped in while our dog was having a groom! Very lovely cafe. Very friendly staff but wasn’t quite greeted upon entering. Lovely selection of food. Amazing looking croissants! Great music from the likes of Arctic Monkeys to Alt J. Would definitely come here rather than going to the stereotypical high street coffee shops!”
“Friendly staff, and nice upstairs cosy seating area to escape to. Plenty of seating space mid morning. Iced americano, blended, was delicious and perfect for a hot day.”
“This wonderful place is 100% recommend. We felt like at home since the first minute, the customer service was 10\10 and the food delicious. I will definitely come back. Thank you very much.”
“Service was ok, not super friendly. Drinks were good and big though, and the atmosphere was fine, we sat in the back and there was a lot of stuff that should have been in storage, instead of piled up in the back.”
“Posting reviews is not a habit for me but, just occasionally, it seems necessary. I have just seen a negative comment about Dexter's here, which deserves to be highlighted because it is really so wrong. Dexter's is a fine coffee shop, with a dedicated owner, loyal staff, and many regular and satisfied customers like me. The negative comment is really destructive. The writer, shining her London coffee credentials in truly pompous fashion, weighs in on the owner, the quality of the coffee, the uniqueness of her terrible experience compared to the normal welcome she experiences elsewhere, and ends by telling us all to avoid at all costs. So, first to correct the narrative. Dexter's, in five years of trading in this part of Bath, has brought a community to life. It is a meeting point and a place for conversation, a place where good things in life are celebrated, and not so good things are comforted. The coffee is sourced from a reputable local roastery, Extract and the owner knows precisely what her clientele need, which is really good coffee and light snacks, delivered consistently in a great atmosphere. But she is balancing a complex community; the shop is welcoming to owners and dogs, walkers and cyclists, people working and meeting. To keep all of us happy, and her business running, she has to be a manager and a diplomat. She does it brilliantly. Sometimes, people do push things a bit. Cyclists, like me, might lay a bike across the window; or someone may bring their lunch from somewhere else and spread it out for an hour whilst working and drinking one coffee. All without asking. Luckily such things are rare, and nearly always no offence was ever intended, but it is necessary to point out a problem, put it right and carry on. But of course there is always a reviewer out there who, if crossed, feels the power to write a review which slams not one thing, but everything about an establishment. And in doing so, the reviewer shows herself to be a righteously indignant huffer and puffer. Dexter's is great, so is the coffee and the company. Do not avoid. Unless that is, you are one of those negative reviewers who delights in trying to destroy small and valuable businesses. By all means please, you, stay away. See you at Dexter's everyone else!!”
“They serve a must-try classic hot chocolate. The right balance of chocolate and milk. Not overly sweet nor too milky. It’s perfect after a walk in the chilly weather around lovely Bath. Tried their white ganache stuffed cookie, it was good but probably too sweet for my taste. Still a 5/5 classic hot chocolate for me.”
“First visit today, it was very good. Very clean, friendly staff, fun disco area. We had a great time.”
