“We had a breakfast, delicious, coffee good. Excellent value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful. Met a lady who was meeting her friends, she's been going there for 20 years!! We will definitely go there next visit to Loughborough. The owner was really friendly and asked about our visit, really pleasant people.”
“The best and friendliest cafe/tearoom I know of. Good food, fantastic staff and great location. Unbeatable.”
“We hired The Little Kitchen for our works Christmas night out, and Donna and her team never fail to impress. They are so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely can’t do enough for you. We had the turkey Christmas dinner, which was absolutely delicious — a proper home-cooked meal with plenty of veg options. The red cabbage was especially amazing! There were two dessert choices, and I went for the chocolate one, which was so nice. They even let us bring along our own silly team games, which was perfect for our very competitive group. This was our second year returning, and we honestly wouldn’t find anywhere better for quality food and such a warm, friendly atmosphere. Thank you once again”
“We went to the stables BBQ & Beats event and had the BEST time. Started with live singers. Followed by a DJ playing Ibiza classics. We had the BBQ bottomless brunch and the food was fantastic. Brill service. Delicious cakes. Lovely courtyard setting. A real pleasure to visit !”
“The food here was stunning. Chose 3 options from the £4.95 menu including the mac n cheese and the loaded fries and we weren't disappointed by any. All 3 were superb.. really tasty and filling. Will definitely be returning and recommending ... A perfect 1st visit.. 5*”
“Invited in rather unfortunate circumstances as an after funeral get together. However, such an amazing venue, full of character. Fantastic staff, (two ladies did all the catering for the finger buffet) as well as tending the bar in the function room. A proper club for good honest working folk.”
“Stopped here to grab some breakfast and it was a lovely experience. The cafe was well decorated and cozy. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Good selection of breakfast options from various toasts to waffles. The coffee was top notch as well and the food tasted as good as it looks. Would recommend trying the waffles with bacon. Will definitely visit again when possible. Free street parking available up to an hour.”
“My friend and I went for a late lunch, the staff were lovely, it was very clean and the cafe had a lovely atmosphere. We both opted for jacket potatoes and were eyeing up the wonderful cake selection. On this occasion we didn't cave into the sweet tooth but we both plan on a return visit so that we can try them out. I highly recommend this little gem.”
“Here, seen it's a cyclist cafe so it"s a 5 straight away. Going to be full breakfast with Coffee, eyed up the cake already. You know when the food is good, this place is, cheers girls.”
“I hired kava for a private function - (Baby shower) the venue was perfect and I had free rein of organising it how I wanted to. The staff were amazing from start to finish very helpful couldn't do enough for us very accommodating and the food was 5 star.”
“Very nice quiet little cafe. We went to take my grandma for her birthday. Service was friendly, the drinks all hot and tasted great. We had a selection of waffles and brownies which were excellent.”

“Amazing facility. Fantastic futsal court with excellent seating and a great playing surface. Good little cafe which does a decent coffee too.”
“Went to the cinema yesterday to watch wicked on leaving was greated by a lovely staff member Evie asked if we enjoyed the film and did we want to have our photo taken. Lovely young lady.”
“My daughter and I had afternoon tea on Tuesday at the Bottle Kiln (to celebrate my birthday), it was absolutely delicious, and there was so much food!! The service was amazing, particular shout out to lovely Zara and Alice who served our table and made our experience extra special.”
“Just wanted to say a big thank you for a fantastic experience at Croots Farm yesterday. I took my wife and our two children (aged 4 and 6) to see Carl and the animals — and wow, we weren’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be absolutely brilliant. Carl was amazing — so gentle and patient with our kids, who are both slightly autistic. He made them feel completely at ease, and they were totally engaged the whole time. It was heartwarming to see how much they enjoyed it. We finished off with a delicious hot chocolate and some cake in the café, which was the perfect end to a lovely afternoon. The kids have already asked if we can come back again on Wednesday — and we absolutely will! Thanks again for such a memorable visit.”
“Come here regularly and never fails to disappointment. Always nice and clean and a good environment to relax. Anna always provides top service with a smile and Katie is always on the go, getting things done! Good bunch of friendly workers here. 5☆”
“Just been for meal at this little treasure of a restaurant. Service was beyond friendly, lovely ambience, food was out of this world. Being vegetarian for 40 years I do get bored of the same menu BUT they had a few amazing different options which I went for the beetroot and lentil bourguignon which tasted outstanding. My husband had for the pork belly and also agreed the food was beyond delicious. Very Highly recommended.”
“I dropped in to have a coffee, but on entering, smelling the food and having a sense of calm about the place, I decided to get a menu and have some breakfast. The menu is small but concise and doesn't attempt to be an "everything to everyone" type of eatery. I had the veggie breakfast and it was delicious. Hash browns were fluffy yet crisp on the outside and the whole meal went down nicely. Table service was good although I wasn't too sure whether you pay at the table or at the counter. Food is cooked from fresh and you can tell when it comes out. My only slight negative was I didn't like the butter/spread used on the toast but this is a very minor point. Would definitely visit again and would recommend to all to have a visit. Breakfast and coffee for under a tenner.”
“Take my Dad here for breakfast on a Sunday . Food is always great and freshly prepared and never have to wait too long even when it’s busy. The staff are so friendly and helpful . They are a credit to the business .we visit on a regular basis even though Dad lives in Nottingham.”
“lovely food and great service. Some a good time eating here. Bear in mind Friday can be noisy.”
“I stayed in Derby for a week and tried a few different places for breakfast. I found the book cafe to be the best. Excellent quality food. Particularly enjoyed the scrambled eggs which were light and flurry. Every item on the plate was of good quality. The location of the cafe is very central and the quirky ambience adds to the experience. Only slightly marked down service as there was no table service, only order at the bar was available but that said the staff were nice and friendly. I’d gladly return to the book cafe in the future and recommend to others”
“Had a beautiful afternoon tea, fantastic service, lovely cakes and sandwiches.. would recommend. Thank you so much.”
“Took my dad in his wheelchair for something to eat. Plenty of space available to negotiate other tables and once moved a chair out of the way. I was able to push him right up to the table so this made things much easier for him. As the food is all cooked fresh there was an expected delay between ordering and eating, which was no longer than expected and it's well worth the wait. The food was lovely and very filling”
“An excellent experience with afternoon tea as a treat for my wife. Had to book as very popular. Food was amazing and nice to see a propper pot of tea. Very friendly and helpful staff. Small car park over the road with 6 spaces.”
“The food was lovely, a perfect portion size, really good quality food and very tasty! It is lovely and welcoming and a bonus of being dog friendly along with getting a Pup cup for our pooch. Atmosphere was so relaxing, I could have stayed in there all day due to how cosy it was. Lovely cafe to visit after our dog walking sessions. It will certainly become a regular for us!”
“Great decor, quirky fittings, some great photos and posters. Did not eat, so cannot comment on the food. Bubbly bar girls. Good view of passing world outside. Nice Hells Lager, but for some reason it took 10 minutes to serve 2 pints to our table, with no other customers..”
“I have known of Milly May's for some time but only in the last few weeks have I ever been there. Well, I wasn't disappointed!. A fabulous warm welcome from the staff, who are all lovely, vibrant, caring and friendly. I ordered a hot drink and a bacon sandwich and they got brought to my table within a very short time. I have to say, it was one of the nicest bacon sandwiches I have had. The bacon cooked perfectly and the bread, so soft and fresh. The Latte was lovely hot and tasty, so much I ordered another. I have, and will certainly visit again for several reasons, friendliness, comfort, cosyness, cleanliness and great food and drink. Thank you ladies, sure to become a regular ❤️❤️❤️”
