“Wonderful Experience at The Cottage Day Nursery! (Uttoxeter Rd, Mickleover, Derby DE3 9AX) Our child attended The Cottage Day Nursery from September 2023 to August 2024, and we couldn’t be happier with the progress they made. They had delayed speech, but the staff provided excellent support, and we saw significant improvement in language skills over the year. The staff are warm, attentive, and truly care about each child’s development. The nursery is well-managed, with fantastic facilities that keep the children engaged and learning through play. The meals provided are healthy and varied, which was a great plus for us. Overall, the nursery offers excellent value for money. “I can not recommend this nursery enough, My two girls started at 5 months old and I was so so nervous about leaving them why they were so little, but the staff put me as ease and made me feel so comfortable in leaving the girls in their care. Now the girls absolutely thrive off nursery and love going in everyday to the exciting activities available. When my girls don’t go to nursery they really miss it. Which really puts my mind at ease that they are having the best time while I work.”

“My daughter has been going to the Carlton Nursery for about 15 months. I have to admit I was on the brink of moving her ... then I met Emily ... and then Jo. What a difference they have made! The staff are brilliant with both the children, and with me as a parent. They’re supportive and nothing is ever too much trouble. I don’t have to worry about being called out of work because they’re too short staffed or there’s something they can’t handle. She has a milk allergy that they’re prepared and equipped to support. This was very severe when she was younger and a real source of anxiety, so finding a nursery that I could trust was very important to me. The nursery itself has had a face lift. The staff are friendly and engaging. My daughter is always coming home with things she’s made or drawn; she literally runs in in a morning and reluctantly comes home in the evening! She has a real bond with a number of the staff, which gives me the confidence that she is getting the care and attention she needs. I honestly can’t recommend this nursery enough.”

“Just held my son's 4th birthday party here. The kids loved the bouncy castle and soft play there was lots for them to have fun with! The staff were great and I really do recommend it, you get a lot of party for your money”

“Superb care and educated beyond school intake levels for all, especially for SENCo provision. My nephew attended La Petite Academy for 3 years; and since with their help, has come on leaps and bounds. Being an experienced primary teacher I have to certainly recommend. I watched my nephew not only grow academically but also as a confident young boy. Key workers and management were so helpful with the plan given to my brother for support and even as he moved up to primary gave advice and assistance with the transition which I know can often be traumatic.”

“One of the hardest times ive faced as a perent was going back to work for the first time after having my children (Stanley and Margot) they light up my life and in all honesty like many mums I'd rather be with them than at work but needs must. We chose to send (Stanley first) to Whitehouse two years ago after a recommendation from a friend and I now consider them part of our life's. We talk about their staff around our dinner table like friends... They are incredible with the kids and do everything with kindness, joy and fun in mind. They share ideas with me that I can try at home and if I'm struggling with any type of behaviour or sleep issues, they guve me advise and ideas to try and help. Nothing is to much trouble and I'm very lucky to hand by children over to people who care amd have their best interests at heart. I believe in giving children experiences to enrich their life's and offer variety and Whitehouse enhances that every week with my children. A big warm hearted thank you from me x”

“I’ve been dancing there for over a year and I have loved every minute of it. The teachers have made me more confident in my dance ability and have made me more open to try new styles of dance. I joined with having a little to know with some areas of dance and have gained confidence in those areas. I recommend this dance school as it provides support and allows the students to feel like they belong there.”

“I was so nervous sending my little girl to Nursery but ever since being here she’s made me and her dad so proud and we have all of the girls there to thank for that. My little girl has learnt new songs, count to 20 and her ABCs by the age of 3 years old and it’s all down to this amazing Nursery. They have encouraged her to eat different foods which was a worry to me and always let me no what she has and hasn’t ate when i pick her up which is a good help. The girls are amazing and are very aproachable to me and my daughter! I’d recommend this Nursery to anybody!!!”

“Our daughter started attending The Cottage in Mickleover at 16 months old and she has grown so much in terms of her confidence, her social development and with her learning. For two years, she learned so many things, gained new friends and has developed into a sweet, kind and fun little girl and a huge part of that is down to Jodie and the team at The Cottage. A fantastic group of staff who are so caring, attentive and provided a safe, happy environment for our daughter. We can only say a HUGE thank you for everything you have done!”

“I can't recommend White House Nursery highly enough. My little one has come on leaps and bounds. We have a confident, well mannered and beautiful little girl. She speaks positively about all the staff and has made really good friends. She enjoys going and looks forward to it. As a parent the staff keep us informed on what she's doing daily, and also important to us the Nursery has a cook on site and all food is cooked fresh each day. I will definitely use them for child number 2.”

“I was slightly dubious about sending my tech-mad daughter for a week at half term as she has never been that interested in sports but my worries were totally unfounded. My daughter had such a great time she insisted that she was to come back at Easter for both weeks! I am extremely impressed with the dedication and patience of the staff especially Tom and Dan who have managed to give my daughter experience of many different activities and given her the confidence to participate in activities that she isn't sure about. She loves the archery, colour run and zorb activities the best. I wish I had know about the holiday clubs before, they are amazing value and the option to drop off and collect outside of 9-5 is worth its weight in gold!! Fabulous work guys, keep it up.”
