“First time here since moving to the area and heard they are relocating, which after the meal we had we're thinking of relocating with them! Pizza is fantastic proper Italian pizza with great sauce base and toppings, chips are the best chips I've ever had from a takeaway (can't usually expect much but they were crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, well seasoned). We were knackered from the move but the family are lovely and gave us a free loaf of sourdough and garlic butter for breakfast which, considering we have nothing was so lovely and much appreciated. Definitely be back, just wish they weren't leaving so soon!”

“I visited the restaurant on Saturday afternoon with my family, and as the only vegan in the group, my options were initially very limited. However, when I mentioned this to our server, Courtney, she went above and beyond. She spoke with the chef and came back with several options they could prepare specially for me, which I thought was incredibly kind. The chef made a delicious arrabbiata along with garlic bread made with olive oil instead of butter - simple but delicious. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was brilliant. As a vegan, I don’t always expect restaurants to accommodate me, so I was delighted by how thoughtful they were in offering alternatives. I would highly recommend this restaurant for both the food and the wonderful service.”

“The staff went above and beyond, assisted me with decorations and had a vegan diet with no coriander and a group of 13 adults, they did amazing, the food was amazing, drinks. “We stumbled with The Hungry Gannet while my kids were having swimming lesson. What a fantastic place, so polite, smiling and helpful team members. The owner's hospitality is above and beyond. We have Chargrilled chicken with Chips and Grilled veg baguette, with cappuccino and tea. Food is absolutely die for, so fresh. First time I have seen so good place where difficult to fund any fault. Their selection of icecream we couldn't enjoy but worth a try in summer time. Keep rocking team The Hungry Gannet, you deserve all the awards should you wish to enter. My all votes to you.”

Restaurant was extremely busy on Saturday late afternoon being a couple of weeks before Xmas the staff are impeccable at their jobs were totally under pressure and handled the situation with ease food and service was excellent thank you and look forward to our visit next time.”

“Best pizza ever!. I can only eat a Leo's pizza. It's made as per your request. I have, an extra thin base, tiny bit of cheese. The base is made freshly every day, the quality is superb. The owner is a lovely man and the staff are always busy and provide an excellent service. Best pizzeria ever!.”

“Was in for dinner with family on Saturday 29th November. Absolutely loved my visit, food was delicious and service was bang on. We were all served promptly and efficiently by a lady who was an absolute delight (Sure her name was Julie/Julia) She made our visit. Engaged with all my family and she was very attentive.”

“It was not my first visit, and it won't be my last. Good choice of food options, and they cater well to a gluten-free diet. Our food was delicious, and the portions were generous and they have a nice selection of wines and spirits. I would highly recommend you give this venue a try. Staff are friendly, helpful, and professional.”

“We got late Groupon deal (and babysitter)for the good ladies birthday. £34 for a sharing platter 2 including bread, cheese, meats and olives. This was followed by a shared potato gratas and 5 choices from the tapas menu. As is standard some of the items have a supplementary charge. We went for the King prawns in garlic and chilli, chicken and chorizo in a tomato sauce, pan serrano(garlic bread topped with manchego cheese and serrano ham), chicken burger sliders and a breaded cheese with a tomato sauce. The dishes came with a tomato sauce and garlic aioili dip. As you expect with Spanish tapas the good was hearty and tasty. We didn't leave a morsel on the table. This isn't a dog at the portion size (which was more than generous) it is just a testament to how good it was. We finished with chocolate fudge cake that we had to force down which was probably my least favourite course. This could have been down to being stuffed like a pig before the first spoonful so I wouldn't read too much into that. To drink we had a jug of sangria to share. Sweet and fruity. Scoffed the lot. Enough said. We will definitely be back again. Outstanding value. Lovely food. Brilliant service. Wonderful transport links (if like us you like a little tipple with your Friday night meal). You you are literally up the stairs and across the road from the bus and train station. Should be noted that the Groupon deal was for £34 which is a bargain in itself. As it had been a long time since I last used my Groupon I got an extra 50 percent off the deal. I will never spend under 20 pounds for that amount of quality grub again in my life. Been smiling all weekend. 1st time. Definitely not the last.”

“A very decent wee find place indeed and one that I've simply drove past and ignored many times over the years. As for the food, I really cant complain, prices were decent, service was superb and if anything, the food was exceptionally hot, as in temperature. If I had to be negative about anything, it would be only a niggle and that would be that the chips were not the best, totally edible just not up to my expectations. This will definitely be a regular haunt of mine from now on, top drawer.”
