“What a delight to eat at this beautiful restaurant. My husband and I turned up without reservations today after a tough morning following a bereavement to try and take our minds off our sadness. The restaurant owner pulled out all the stops to find us a table, and his kind and friendly manner instantly lifted our spirits. The food was the best we have ever eaten, the staff were so attentive and clearly very happy in their work, and the other customers were obviously in their happy places too. Incredible dining experience in a truly welcoming place full of joy, and heart, and hope. Thank you so much x”

“Another one on the list that I've wanted to visit for a long time having heard only good things about the place. One word needed to describe the place - exceptional. Staff are super friendly, tasteful decoration complimented with a soundtrack to suit. Food was delicious, so much choice and plenty of vegetarian options available. All dishes were well presented. Attention to detail, from staff that evidently have passion for what they serve. Cannot recommend this place enough. I will definitely be back soon.”

“Payed a wee visit to here tonight it's been over 10yrs since I was there and I must say the food and service was first class beautiful fresh food served with a smile the portion sizes were amazing we opted for the £16.50 ... 2 course we had bq ribs and mini spring roll they were so tasty no fat on ribs like u get in some places we got chicken chow mein it was amazing thin noodles though but we loved them got chicken breast of curry fried rice once again delicious portion of chips nice and cruncy overall a beautiful meal and lots of it will definitely be back again soon thank you for your great service”

“We stumbled with The Hungry Gannet while my kids were having swimming lesson. What a fantastic place, so polite, smiling and helpful team members. The owner's hospitality is above and beyond. We have Chargrilled chicken with Chips and Grilled veg baguette, with cappuccino and tea. Food is absolutely die for, so fresh. First time I have seen so good place where difficult to fund any fault. Their selection of icecream we couldn't enjoy but worth a try in summer time. Keep rocking team The Hungry Gannet, you deserve all the awards should you wish to enter. My all votes to you.”

“We got late Groupon deal (and babysitter)for the good ladies birthday. £34 for a sharing platter 2 including bread, cheese, meats and olives. This was followed by a shared potato gratas and 5 choices from the tapas menu. As is standard some of the items have a supplementary charge. We went for the King prawns in garlic and chilli, chicken and chorizo in a tomato sauce, pan serrano(garlic bread topped with manchego cheese and serrano ham), chicken burger sliders and a breaded cheese with a tomato sauce. The dishes came with a tomato sauce and garlic aioili dip. As you expect with Spanish tapas the good was hearty and tasty. We didn't leave a morsel on the table. This isn't a dog at the portion size (which was more than generous) it is just a testament to how good it was. We finished with chocolate fudge cake that we had to force down which was probably my least favourite course. This could have been down to being stuffed like a pig before the first spoonful so I wouldn't read too much into that. To drink we had a jug of sangria to share. Sweet and fruity. Scoffed the lot. Enough said. We will definitely be back again. Outstanding value. Lovely food. Brilliant service. Wonderful transport links (if like us you like a little tipple with your Friday night meal). You you are literally up the stairs and across the road from the bus and train station. Should be noted that the Groupon deal was for £34 which is a bargain in itself. As it had been a long time since I last used my Groupon I got an extra 50 percent off the deal. I will never spend under 20 pounds for that amount of quality grub again in my life. Been smiling all weekend. 1st time. Definitely not the last.”

“A very decent wee find place indeed and one that I've simply drove past and ignored many times over the years. As for the food, I really cant complain, prices were decent, service was superb and if anything, the food was exceptionally hot, as in temperature. If I had to be negative about anything, it would be only a niggle and that would be that the chips were not the best, totally edible just not up to my expectations. This will definitely be a regular haunt of mine from now on, top drawer.”

“The best and friendliest staff you’ll ever come across popped in for homemade soup Wich was out of this world tastes like mums homemade soup so that was a bonus a must try is the jumbo sausage rolls I mean who would go back to Greggs not my first visit and certainly won’t be my last either”

“3rd Visit. All Visits have been great. Girl behind the bar is polite and takes good care of you. I never have to wait around for another drink. Food is good, well presented and very reasonably priced. The owner (I think) is also pleasant, nice lady to chat with. Dog friendly. They have little handmade dog biscuit's where the proceedings go to a good cause. Great establishment !!”

Food was just superb, highlights were hash browns being crunchy packets of fluffy potato, & the black pudding was top restaurant quality cooked to perfection. Best breakfast I’ve had in a very very long time, and not by a small margin. I’ll definitely be coming back, just to check it’s not a one-off! 11/10 - would recommend”

“This place has been given a fantastic make over. Great service and very reasonable prices. I had the beef burger with haggis and my husband and friend had the chicken burger and the chicken fajitas, all very tasty and fresh. £6 for a strawberry daiquiri is roughly the same as Glasgow prices but they were delicious. Will definitely need to go back and fully recommend.”

“Went in for the 2 courses for £10 lunch menu and wasn’t expecting much but our doubts were absolutely blown out of the water. The food was amazing and so too was the service. Wife said the macaroni cheese was great and I honestly couldn’t fault the soup or the club sandwich. Star of the show was those salt and chilli chips. Absolute top tier. The server was great and friendly. We’ll definitely be back.”

Manager is one of the nicest people do not be put off by the 12 midnight shut as it is more than Worth it. Manager was very helpful and is just a regular family man like you or I. Food was top quality all fresh which is all you can ask for and the prices of there dalmore beats the average boozer by £2 a nip. Do not worry about portion size it is definitely adequate. Bedrooms are small but I got a single so don't think you and the Mrs can fit a single room. Other than this everything else was perfect. Loved my stay thanks again for making it feel like home for my 3 day stay!!”
