“Absolutely lovely stay. Beautiful furnishings throughout the house (we had a peek in other vacant rooms), the owner was lovely and responded quickly to a request made after my booking, and an excellent sleep. Will be looking forward to another night's stay.”
“After reading previous reviews and worrying about previous comments, I can honestly say our experience was far more relaxed and positive. Lovely location in a very quiet village. The weekend was fairly quiet even with nearly all the pitches taken. It wasn't rowdy, which if I'm honest I was expecting this from the comments, everyone seemed respectful on our stay. The pub food was amazing value for money and tasted really nice. If your looking for activities you will have to travel away from the campsite to the local towns, we travelled to Goole to the shops and free museum, good for young children. I think if your looking for a site just to relax, this would be the one and if you like to have a drink in the evening and a game of pool they have a small cosey pub on site. Showers are very nice and clean and to be honest the £1 per 2 minutes on the machine actually helps keep the queues down at the showers, not once did I need to queue and I showered every morning. It was a bank holiday weekend at the end of April, The Manager was present a lot over the weekend doing general maintenance on the site which definitely shows well as it seemed well kept when we stayed. I honestly wouldn't let the reviews put you off. It's worth at least experiencing once! If you have young children it may be best to bring more activities along with you as my daughter got a little bored but only because other campers went out for the day and she was alone, there is a small children's park for the kids though. I'd say that's the only thing missing is some daytime entertainment at the pub to bring everyone together. However the manager has his reasons for not opening during the day which is understandable. It may be a nice idea to open a small grocery shop on site? Not sure if this has been thought about but would be handy to be able to buy a few bits on site instead of driving out but again probably the cost that would be involved may put the owner off doing so. Again totally understandable. My mum came to stay in the little rooms with ensuites that have availability, which was nice and cosy. So if you have friends who won't camp, it's ideal for them to book a room instead! All in all it was a pleasant stay. We would definitely come back in the near future if we want a relaxing break. Also the pitch we camped on was very well sheltered and the manager said he usually puts tents in this area. On other sites we usually feel the wind on the tent slot but this site we barely felt the tent moving in higher winds because it's very well sheltered! Big bonus and good for first time campers who don't want to be put off.”
“Lovely little rooms, small but well appointed and 5mins walk to the beach. The hosts are really friendly, there’s parking, it’s quiet, and the breakfast is really generous - so much to choose from; especially loved the fresh eggs laid by the hens that lived there, and tons of other choices from crumpets to granola.”
“We got married here on Halloween and it was the most beautiful day I've ever had. The staff were amazing. They were so kind and helpful and supportive. Everybody that we spoke to were just amazing. I cannot fault anybody or anything. It was perfect.”
“We loved it. The Landlady was very friendly and allowed us to check in early as we were going to a wedding. The room was well equipped with traditional fittings you would expect in a period building. Our room was very spacious with tea and coffee facilities and porridge if you fancy a light bite in the morning. The other staff were also friendly and helpful and one of the main things was the cleanliness. It is located on the main street so a good spot for sampling the local market town facilities. Pubs, cafes restaurants and craft shops. I would highly recommend the Londesborough for a trip to Market Weighton and can easily be used as a hub for discovering the surrounding villages and countryside. A big thank you for a great stay!”
“A nice little place for the kids/grandkids. They loved it and security is great.”
“Really nice overnight stay in this small, yet modern village hotel. Didn't eat at night and breakfast was basic, but fine. Drinks very cheap in the bar. Under £4.50 for a pint these days is unheard of!”
“Very good little hotel and pub food in the pub was very good”
“I will be honest with you, if I was looking for a relaxing spa day or two I wouldn't emediately look to Scunthorpe as my location destination of choice. But here we landed. This place is off of a main road and then off of a minor road and you then turn off of that to arrive at Sawcliffe Manor, we stayed in the rose cottage. Its beautiful and full of quaint English farm house charm. Everything is clean and fully equipped to be home from home, that is if your house has a Aga creating the cosiest of kitchens. Then we get to use the spa, this is pure luxury wonderful products to cleanse and refresh every part of you. We had a 10 month old baby with us, he loved all the water play and swinging seats as well as the baby massage lotions. We took loads of photos of all three of us smiling from ear to ear but as we are a foster family so can't share photos on any social platforms. This was a lovely place to spend a day or two”
“Excellence isnt my normal review but this place is outstanding for food”
“A delicious meal in a friendly pub the staff were all very helpful and efficient a great pub to go to. The meal had large portions and homemade chips yum (practically unheard-of this days) I had to steal them of my son.”
“Located near the Minestry and a 5 minute walk to the High Street. Rooms and facilities were very clean. Lovely old house which gives a nice feel to it.”
“Amazing company, sent 3 guys to do the work after severe water damage, I had new ceiling boards, new carpet/lino, headers and footers of kitchen cupboards, new floor in bathroom and hallway outside bathroom. A very professional job done and all completed to a excellent standard. Would highly recommend.”
“Just had a couple of nights at primrose cottage and must say it was absolutely amazing. Well equipped with everything and more than you could think of including a lovely welcome basket. The cottage was immaculate inside and out”
“EASTDALE B&B is one of the best places we have stayed. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Our room at the top of the house was very quiet with comfortable beds and lovely outlooks over gardens and countryside. The breakfast was great and we could watch the birdlife as we ate. Liz and Paul were very helpful and we had some very pleasant conversations over breakfast. Thanks very much for a lovely stay( despite our car breaking down) Mary and Colin from Morecambe”
“Superb B&B. Courtyard parking, converted outbuilding rooms very comfy and warm. Lovely owners. Pet friendly. Easy drive out to Bridlington etc. Quiet and relaxing.”
“A real gem of a B&B. Delightful Georgian property just 2 minutes walk from town centre. Breakfast is spot on full Yorkshire. Will definitely come back. The host's Walter and Nuala are very friendly and accommodating”
“The Manor House is a beautiful relaxing place to stay. So roomy and everything anyone could need has been thought of. Couldn’t have had a better time there. Would highly recommend! The fish shop in the village is excellent! The grounds are also fab and secure for children with the trampoline an added bonus.”
“Fabulous apartment ideally situated in the centre of Beverley. Fabulous decor throughout snd with everything needed for a short stay for two people. I would highly recommend this and would stay there again”
“A lovely place to stay. Very friendly couple. Room was spacious, very clean & well presented with a.personal touch. Unfortunately I was away too early for breakfast but I feel sure it would be exemplary! Plenty of parking room for larger vehicles. Far better than any roadside lodges! Highly recommended ☆☆☆☆☆”
“Lovely campsite. Now adults only. You park the car in the car park and can use wheelbarrows to take your equipment to the field. One toilet and one hot, powerful shower. Small site so no queues. Small wooded area to relax in with seating areas. Firepits on the field. Some noise from main road but not a problem. Run by Vanessa and John a lovely couple who take pride in their campsite, smallholding and land.”
“Great central location for Hornsea. Room is modern and really clean with great tea/ coffee choices and homemade biscuits. Rob and Georgina were very welcoming and helpful.”
“This was excellent place to go we stayed for a week with the kids they loved the hot tub and the garden to play the owners could not of done any more to help up with anything we needed if was absolutely fantastic we all can’t wait to go back again.”
“How do I describe this place? The location is perfect. The rooms Exceptional. The hospitality is the bests I have had from a small bnb its even better that some of the hotels I have stayed in can't fault it at all”
“First visit to Alkborough, and what a Fantastic place to go Birding, visited two of the Hides, and from Tower Hide, we spotted a Bittern, in flight and a Roe Deer. Access is good. Would thoroughly recommend.”
“This is a fabulous, spacious site, particularly ideal for dog owners given that there is a huge field adjacent and also a disused railway path for walks. The site has both grass only and electric hook up. The field is perfectly flat. The amenities are rustic, but perfectly clean. Shower has an honesty box and was lovely and hot with no time limiter. The site promotes recycling and has great facilities for the same. There are no play facilities for children, but there is plenty of open space for games and nature walks.”
“Great little site just a short walk into Beverly”
