“I find it hard to believe how anyone who loves Chinese food could slate this place (maybe because its one of the only authentic Chinese take away left in Hull) I have been using Oriental Star regularly for years and never had one problem, food is authentic and always fresh, delivery is always prompt, best in Hull IMO”

You can tell they use fresh, quality ingredients because every bite was chef’s kiss. Service was spot on—fast, friendly, and efficient. Portions were generous, and the packaging was neat, no spills or mess. If you haven’t tried Milano’s yet, do yourself a favor and order now. You won’t regret it!”

“Papa Mo's has been my go-to pizza takeaway for a while now and I honestly can't recommend them enough. Every time I order, the food is hot, fresh, and delivered super quickly. The quality is always consistent, and the pizzas are packed with flavour and generous toppings. What really sets them apart though is the customer service. The team is always so friendly and polite, and it really feels like they value their regular customers. On the rare occasion there’s been a small issue, like a missing item or something not quite right, they’ve handled it so well. No fuss at all, just genuine apologies and even offering free items to make up for it. It’s the kind of service that makes you want to keep coming back. You don’t get that kind of care from every place. They've always been wonderful to me and it’s clear they take pride in what they do. It’s more than just a takeaway spot – it feels like a local gem run by people who really care. Definitely one of the best in the area.”

“Was passing through & bought a large mix donner with chips. It was handsdown the best mix donner I have had in a long time!! The chips were cooked on order & the salad & sauces really complemented the combination & it was reasonably priced at £8.50 which was the large portion. Will definitely come here again when im next in Hull.”

“I am coeliac and this is my fave takeaway atm. I've probably had from here at least a good 10 times. I usually get the chicken chow mein, but I've also had the chicken fried rice and the chicken and sweetcorn soup, so far every meal has been hot and delicious. The food comes in a timely manner (sometimes a bit longer on a weekend, but during the week it can be super quick), it comes in a good sized tub that's always filled to the brim, and is always piping hot. It's absolutely delicious. Personally I think the chicken seems a bit cheap (by flavour and esp texture) but that's probably quite normal at Chinese's 'cos they gotta cover costs, but it's still nice and the meal over all is 10/10. They always read my note and adjust my meal how I like it (less onions, more mushrooms) and it tastes sooo good. And I didn't even know I liked seaweed! Lol. But the chow mein comes with some and it's beaut! Definitely recommend Peking House :)”

“After reading mixed reviews I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food. I ordered the set meal for one, and it was easily one of the best I've had in a long time. I requested the chicken with peppers in black bean sauce to be made spicy, and it was perfectly done. The portion was generous for just £10—so much so that I couldn’t finish it all! The service was excellent, the takeaway was spotless, and the prices were very reasonable. I’ll definitely be returning!”

“Many say the good here is bad, or the service isn't that great, but whenever ive finished my long shift at work at least once a week, and my pop my head in that shop their faces are my favourite to see at that time. They're great for a chat, make the food very quickly when you're ordering inside and try their hardest to satisfy being kind and humorous to everybody. While I agree the food is at least average, in some cases better then average, you can tell they've put care into their order and you always leave with a big smile”
