“If you visit Rosa, you must try the chicken rice — it’s incredibly delicious and tastes just like home in Thailand! The dipping sauce is perfect, the appetizers are great, and the noodles are amazing too. Every dish is full of authentic flavor. The restaurant has a cozy, lovely atmosphere with friendly service. Definitely worth a visit — highly recommended!”

“We have driven past the Robin Hood so many times over the years and just hadn't realised what we've been missing! Inside, it has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and an authentic character which so many pubs have lost. The tick list includes: Good choice of real ales; dog friendly; real fire; friendly and enthusiastic staff; excellent quality food; broad choice menu; great value; homely decorations for the Christmas season. We were lucky to be there for the Early Bird Christmas Menu... 3 home cooked courses with all the trimmings. All courses well cooked, very tasty and great quality. We will be back... we didn't need to book this time as it was a wet and windy Wednesday lunchtime, but I think we'll book our next visit to avoid disappointment.”

“Amazing food. Nice little bread entrees. Starters were lovely. Nice pate, mozzarella triangles. The ribs were insane. The lasagna was too hot to eat so took it home and was lovely. Chicken liver and calzone all amazing. Price for 5 drinks(one bottle of wine) 5 starters and mains 175. Can't wait to go back!”

“Delicious home cooked Polish food! The pork stew was really flavourful, with tender meat. The potato dumplings was the right texture and pairs really well with the sauce and stew. The sour rye soup was absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend!”

“My wife and I spent yesterday at the Barbican for the snooker. After the afternoon session, we decided to see what was available nearby. We didn't have a reservation, but we were quickly shown to a table. Food is excellent well prepared and presented beautifully. High praise to the owner and staff. Very welcoming little restaurant 2 minute walk from the Barbican. To sum up in one word, Bellissima”

“I visited Cafe No 8 before Covid and really loved the food. They shorten their operation hours after Covid and we finally made it for Sunday lunch today. We had a starter, mains and dessert. The food was just as good as I remembered. Service was good too. This place just celebrated their 20 years' anniversary in York which tells you that they got to be good to last that long given the ultra competitive food scene here. The food was of top quality, refined and cooked with care. We had beef and pork tenderloin and they were so tender. The potatoes were roasted perfectly. And we had a selection of vegetables (Broccolini, Parsnip, Carrots, Spring Onions etc) not over cooked like many places. And I was so glad to try the Dark Belgian Chocolate Truffle with Black Sesame Ice Cream. I love black sesame ice cream but is a rarity to find them in York. I wish I could buy a tub of their black sesame ice cream and bring it home. If you are looking for a place with a relaxed atmosphere, serving non-pretentious and delicious food, I recommend Cafe No 8 Bistro.”

“This restaurant is amazing and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The owner paco and his wife are so friendly and they make u feel like you are part of the family. Pacos food is cooked from fresh and there is a variety of dishes including sea food dishes. The prices are also very very reasonable and you get a big plate with very good food portions and it tasted absolutely yummy and out of this world. The restaurant is very clean and tidy too Really I give 10 put of 10 for Pacos. If your ever passing by please give this restaurant a try you won't be disappointed”

“Came here for a lunchtime meal with a group from work. The food was amazing - even simple starters / sides tasted so good. The mains were also really well prepared and all tasted delicious and full of flavour. The staff are efficient and friendly. I definitely want to go back again and sample some more dishes from the menu.”

“What a fabulous little venue. Came here for a quiet lunch with colleagues and knew it was going to be good when the pensioners started to arrive. I mean that complimentary because senior citizens have eaten everywhere and choose the best places to eat. The food was spot on. Decor and ambience was perfect. Seating was very comfy. “I recently hired the first floor of the restaurant for my 50th Party. In the lead up to it, the staff were amazing in particular Rich and Jakub in allowing me to view it numerous times. I chose a hot buffet and we had various options but they needed tweaking for dietary requirements, this was no problem at all, and menus were re-visited. The week leading up to the party, there was another viewing and the staff worked around my work schedule and stayed late, moved tables, humoured me and ensured I was happy. When the evening came, the room looked beautiful, the food was gorgeous and the drinks were flowing. Nothing was too much trouble. All my guests raved about the food and the atmosphere. It was relaxed, but special, really an evening to remember and I thoroughly enjoyed myself without having to orchestrate a thing on the night. They even kept the bar open later than arranged and were good natured when we finally called our ubers. Same again next birthday?!! Thank you Heaney and Mill, we'll be back”

“This is our go to place. Food is great and the staff are fantastic. Our visit today was for my daughter’s birthday and after a tasty meal they brought her a cake with sparkler on top. This was done by the staff without us asking and we thought it was a loverly gesture. We would recommend a visit and we are definitely returning. Thank you to everyone at craven kitchen.”
