“Walking passed the area doesn’t seem eye-catching like other typical restaurants, what caught me and my partners eye was the plantains poster on the outside of the odeon market. It’s typically I would say your hidden gem food places to eat. From stumbling upon that sign we both had a feeling this might be something good. Yes, the restaurant appearances doesn’t have that feel like other typical high street restaurants or food chain restaurants have. But what it does have is comfort, friendliness, great food not only fresh food. The menu does have English food that’s catered to their current lovely customers, but amongst it they have their great Latin cuisine and beverage that they make in house. The price isn’t that expensive we paid for everything around £21 including a cappuccino and everything you seen in the photos. I have to say it’s a bargain for great food. Must try the Chicha Morada drink honestly light and refreshing, definitely will be seeing me back here for that drink. Freddie who was there was so friendly and great to talk to not only very knowledgeable about the history of the cuisine as he’s from there but it brings nostalgia to the whole place. He’s honestly a really great person who checks in on all his customers, who wouldn’t want to come here.”

“Stumbled across this little Mexican today, was greeted warmly by the owners (Father and daughter). The menu was explained really clearly and the server was lovely and chatty. The food was so good, the beef was unbelievable. We will definitely come back again”

“This is probably my 25th visit to John's House and an annual pilgrimage I make each summer (as I do not live in the UK). Loved it, as always, a delight to see Pedro and his wine pairings shine brightly, classically, and with personality. Loved the food, with a nice mix of classic JH dishes and some new twists. LOVED the hogget dish, that hit a new high for me. I might have eaten 5-6 breads to mop up the sauces. Charming interaction with Gracie - she's one to watch in hospitality as she just has 'it' and thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks for another great night, see you again 3 weeks! Matt”

“What a wonderfully warm and welcoming atmosphere! Last night, I was looking for somewhere to take my Mum and Aunt to have a chilled catch up over a small bite to eat. Google presented Audrey's! I always thought it was a wild cocktail bar but to my surprise, during the day, it's a beautiful coffee shop with the most chilled vibes. We ordered soup of the day (vegan) and Cauliflower (buffalo wing style) with jerk seasoned fries. The food was just so delicious, wholesome and warming which is what we needed coming in from the cold. If I worked in Leicester City Centre, I'd be booking this place for lunch! Either for a work colleague's birthday or just a chilled out bite to eat before hitting the afternoon grind. £25 total spend on 3 people is an absolute bargain for the quality of food and ambience of the place. Will definitely be visiting again really soon! It's a shame I can't add videos to this review because the photos just doesn't do this place justice!”

“Top food in Loughborough! Food was faultless. The Rucola pizza was lovely and can’t wait to try more from here! Small bites were great too, came with dips and full of flavour. Reasonably priced, and lovely staff. Quite a small restaurant so can get crowded however a lovely atmosphere when quiet.”

“Had an amazing afternoon tea with a friend. Our first time in Rearsby and loved the 300 year old pack bridge and our little walk after a fantastic tea. Served on the most beautiful vintage china, with vintage linen and cutlery. That in itself was so special, but what stood out was how fresh the sandwiches were, how melt in the mouth the cakes were and how delicious the overall tea was. The staff were so friendly and helpful and sitting in the room felt very intimate and cosy. I found this place online as one of the best afternoon teas in Leicestershire and it does not disappoint. Really perfect, thank you. I shall be bringing the husband back with me and cannot wait to visit again. Thank you.”

“Visited this place for Brunch today with my mum. We ordered a Masala Tea &Latte. Special Steak Prego and Special Chicken Prego were delicious the buns were super soft! Berlin donut & an Egg custard baked tart were so tasty. We really enjoyed everything we ordered. Customer service was great too. Very friendly environment. Would definitely visit again...”

“Tried many restaurants in Leicester but this has the MOST authentic Indo-Chinese flavour. Even Chaat was amazing. The shop also customizes all the recipes as extra mild for kids, so no chilly and kids happy. I was amazed by the price and the serving potions. If you have not tried this place, you are missing out on one of the best Vegetarian Indian flavours.”

“My first visit with friends last night and i wasn’t disappointed. The staff were all lovely and helpful, with great banter with them which helped create a lovely atmosphere. The food was fantastic, I had the beef wellington starter and crab and prawn risotto, followed by the salted sponge and I can’t recommend enough. Good wine menu and the promesa Rioja reserva was superb. One of our group had the filet steak which I was lucky enough to try and it simply melted in the mouth ( will have this I think next time I come). Heard about the legendary Sunday dinners so will be back to try this as well.”

“I had the fish and chips and the curry and sure wasn’t disappointed!! Nice fish with lovely batter, chips and good as they get and the curry sauce was fantastic. Everything was tasty. Wrapped in newspaper just like the old days. The service was great and served very quickly . I would definitely recommend. 10/10. .”

“We enjoyed a lovely breakfast today at Malt Mill Coffee and Bakery. The coffee was perfect strength and temperature with extra special touches of grated chocolate on the top. The breakfast burger was 10/10 with a delicious homemade burger patty and perfectly cooked eggs. I myself felt like something a little lighter and I was very impressed by the homemade marmalade on sour dough. We enjoyed the warm homely environment with plenty of beautiful antique posters and mood music. A beautiful was for some Aussie travellers to start their day. Thankyou so much . “Ordered as its close to site , 14 inch thick crust chicken tandoori was delivered ontime, food arrived hot, pizza wasn't greasy , plenty of toppings on. Bit on the pricy side. Only thing was it wasn't that spicy, maybe I'll try a spicier 1 next time”

“Family have just had a fantastic Sunday meal. 7 adults, 2 children. The staff were lovely attentive yet unobtrusive. The food was lovely, plentiful and served hot. Good value. The menu was a Sunday lunch /Dinner range. A much larger menu is available through out the week. Thanks to all the staff and Maz.”

“We were served wonderfully by Eva - polite, friendly, attentive and multilingual! We had perfectly made coffee, and fresh juice. There's a great atmosphere in the bakery, which is well used by the local community. There is lots of space inside and some outside tables as well. My companions enjoyed the pastries very much, but as a vegan with a wheat intolerance this was not the place for me to eat! However, I enjoyed our visit very much.”

“Went for breakfast with a party of 9 before heading to the football. Service was first class and the food superb with a wide and varied menu. We had a wide range of dishes and everything was served fresh and hot. I had the Rump steak and Eggs which was perfectly cooked, just pink and oh so tasty. Will certainly be making another trip soon.”

“My friend recommended here for a Full English breakfast as I've been living abroad for many years. We visited quite late so the breakfast had technically ended and they had ran out of bacon but the lovely lady said she would pop to the shop to get some just so she could make the full breakfast and it was definitely worth it. Amazing food and service.”

“I’ve been to this place twice so far. Once when my friends threw me a birthday surprise (there were 20 people ish) and the next as just a table for two. Both times have been wonderful. From the food, to the selection, to the staff and service - everything has always been high quality. Even when there were 20 of us, they really kept on top of our tables and helped accommodate our requests. The food you have a good selection for both BBQ and hotpot to order for 3 rounds, and also a side buffet for any additional veggies or side dishes. They change the grill quite regularly and are attentive to the water levels of your hotpot. The drinks are really good, my favourite is the passionfruit boba (yes even their boba is good). The staff has always been so lovely and smiley even when they are busy, they never fail to pay attention to their customers. Definitely recommend, will be coming back more for sure!”

“We dined at the Dog & Hedgehog as a spur of the moment Sunday lunch out. We called ahead to check availability (table for 2) and the friendly staff were able to fit us without any issues. The Sunday lunch menu had a very large selection of main meals to choose from including the traditional Sunday roast with a great choice of meats. The Sunday roast was well presented and accompanied by a selection of seasonal vegetables and cauliflower cheese, which was AMAZING! Every element of the dish was delicious, in particular the meat was plentiful, perfectly cooked and well carved.”
