βA beautiful cathedral lots of history and things to see. Β£5 voluntary admission price into cathedral. Takes a good hour to walk about. On day of visit part of area was unaccessible due to a private function. Nice grounds to walk around also souvenir shop.β
βFrom the moment we called to make our reservation, the service was exceptional. Stavros was incredibly polite and friendly on the phone, and that same warm attitude continued when we arrived β he greeted us with a smile and guided us to our table with genuine hospitality. The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented, and it was clear that a lot of care went into the cooking. Combined with the welcoming atmosphere, the whole experience was truly fantastic. Highly recommend β weβll definitely be returning!β
βThe Tuesday lunchtime concerts here (https://wesleychester.co.uk/whats-on/music-wesley) are well worth attending. Today the performers were four winners of the Chester Competitive Music Festival, mainly students from the Royal Northern College of Music or Chetham's School of Music, all very impressive musicians.β
βGreat for younger children. Animals are obviously well cared for (although lots of caged birds and ducks some people may not like). Reasonably priced entry with lots of opportunities to pet and feed the animals. 3 members of staff actively stopped to talk to us about the animals they were caring for which was nice. Wide variety of animals including a Barn owl, ferrets, pigs, sheep, goats, alpacas, canaries, donkeys, hens, peacocks and (rescued) parrots. 2 good playgrounds and a small indoor soft play. The food in the cafe was OK. Menu catered well for dietary requirements. No picnics allowed FYI. We were there for 4 hours including food and feeding the lambs so all in all a good day out.β
βAlways a great selection of quality meat. Martin is a lovely guy. Wonβt buy my meat anywhere elseβ
β24 hours on the specimen lake, great facilities. Staff were great, couldn't be any more helpful and polite. One of the cleanest fisheries I have ever been on not a single rat in site!! Will definitely be returningβ
βWent here Christmas eve, place is amazing inside, great architecture and kept all original features with a modern twist, gorgeous food and the best cocktails. Shut early as it was Xmas eve, but can imagine it being a buzz at a normal weekend.β
βAbsolutely brilliant! Highly recommended.β
βWe have been coming to Chester lakes from the very start when you used to drive to your peg/camping spot. We have seen so many changes and not all for the better unfortunately. The fishing is great. Charlie and Mark are so kind and really do go above and beyond for visitors. Unfortunately camping has been limited to 4 pitches. No campervans which is sad as we used to love coming in our campervan to the woodlands. We looked into buying a caravan and leasing a pitch but was shocked at how much the owner wants. Starting at Β£2750 for the part where you're very close to other vans to Β£4000 near lake. Fees do not inc electricity and you cannot rent your van to help cover the fees. Our friends have a caravan in Barmouth with swimming pool, entertainment and beach next to site with electricity/water inc and they pay 3500 a year and can rent out. I think the rates here should inc electricity and fishing for these fees. We've had so many beautiful memories here and we're sad they'll be no campervan trips here anymore. Common wood is going to benefit massively regarding the changes Chester lakes has made reading the reviews. Real shameβ
βI began lessons with Jan back in 2010, having already taught myself some of the basics I started lessons with the aim of sitting my Grade 5 ABRSM Piano exam. Although this aim was rather ambitious, Jan took me on and we began work right away. Straight away, I found Jan very approachable, friendly, and warm, which really eased my nerves during my first few lessons. Jan's teaching style is highly engaging, and I always found myself looking forward to lessons with her. Jan's lessons are very structured and easy to follow, but no two lessons feel the same. She always makes the interesting and fun, while providing highly constructive feedback and practise plans. I sat my Grade 5 within 6 months of lessons with Jan, and continued through until Grade 8 with her. Through my lessons with Jan I found my technique and musicality improved substantially, and I feel like much more of a confident pianist because of her. It had been a goal of mine to achieve Grade 8 since I was a child, and it's thanks to Jan that I was able to achieve this. Even since finishing my lessons, I've stayed in touch with her and she's always there to assist me in any piano related stuff i.e. suggesting books/repertoire etc. It was an absolute pleasure to be a pupil of Jan's for many years, and I couldn't recommend her enough.β
βGreat classes. All materials supplied. Supportive and helpful. Helps you explore and improve your abilities. Give it a go!β

βTook my amazing girlfriend for a surprise treat before going to chester. Well worth the hour and a bit drive. What a gem. Quirky tearoom set back from the road. Service was amazing and people very chatty and genuine. Even had a free library for you to take a book home with you or swop on your next trip. We had an afternoon tea. It was delicious and plentiful. We can highly recommend this place. Great value for money.β
βFantastic friendly service. They managed to look at my car at very short notice and identify the issue/order in the part promptly even though they are incredibly busy. I will highly recommend to all my friends and family.β
βFirst time having Christmas dinner in a restaurant/pub. What can I say , food was outstanding. The Chef Ryan certainly knows how to prepare and present the dishes. Service was brilliant by Marco who was really friendly and attentive. We enjoyed it so much we are hoping to book again for next year.β
βCosy little tap room/shop I popped into whilst staying at a local air bnb. A varied, interesting selection of drinks with some options on tap too. Modern and clean environment. Recommended.β

βGary and his team just serviced and MOTd our 2014 car with the minimum of fuss or expense. We were given a little runaround car for the day (at no charge) which was a huge help. The pricing was laid out in advance. We even got a call at lunchtime to say the MOT passed with nothing needed! The bill was ready to settle on arrival and in just 2 minutes we were out of there. Honest, timely and fairly priced. This is now our 'go to' garage. Recommended.β

βWell I live down the road from here so if we run out of the essentials like bread it is easy just to walk down. Also the shopkeepers are lovely so if you need any help finding things just ask.β
