“It was a lovely visit- we booked for a friends surprise 50th birthday which was unfortunately cancelled, but we managed to rearrange booking dates so that the stay coincided with my wife's birthday. Our first visit to Miller and Carter and we thought the rooms were very nice - everything we needed and warm and clean. Our first meal at M&C too, and it was delicious. I especially loved the onion bread! Breakfast was fabulous. Oh the staff were - without exception - really friendly and helpful”

“Great Place, for a bite to eat, got a great menu which will suit everyone's taste, the staff are really helpful and the whole interior of this place is beautiful, especially Christmas time. Clean , tidy and a pleasure to spend time here. Plenty of parking and wheelchair accessible . Wether your looking for a meal or just a drink , well worth a visit”

“Popped in to the pub today to try it as it’s under new management - really nice family, very welcoming and drinks were good. Kitchen opening soon so haven’t tried the food yet but we spoke to Alfi who will be managing the kitchen and is a really nice guy with great plans for food from next weekend. Also dog friendly - they made a big fuss of our dogs and they had the wood burning stove lit which created a lovely cozy place to stop on our walk. We will definitely be back to try the food and some more drinks. We hope the wider community supports them as well as this used to be a great pub on the canal to stop at and they really want to return it to that - we wish them success and happiness at The Slipway.”

“Came in randomly looking for food, was not disappointed. Food was reasonably priced, very tasty. Lovely staff, very friendly. Dogs are welcomed. Kid friendly and wheelchair friendly too. Clean, lovely scenery outside. All in all a very positive experience. Would recommend going.”

“Staff very friendly hadn't booked but we were seated straight away. We're given Menus and drinks orders were taken. When food was ordered we were asked re allergies. Food was excellent my Husband had steak and said it was the best he had eaten in a long time. Haven't been to the Morris Dancers for a while but will definitely be back soon”

“We held our mums wake at the Bull and Dog this week. Bar staff were friendly and efficient. The area was ideal for our group of 35. The buffet was excellent , well presented and kept warm. 3 vegetarians in our group were full of praise for their meals. Our chosen playlist was piped into the area. “This pub may sometimes get missed/misjudged by people not familiar with it. Security, bar staff, entertainers - all helpful and welcoming. It caters for a mixed clientele' young to old, guaranteed an enjoyable evening and with what I consider the best pint of Fosters in town.”

“Heard a rumour that one of my favourite local eateries was in new hands these days. So I popped in to see if my friends Liv and Lennie were still there. But they've moved on now, so I thought I'd test out their replacements. And I'm very glad I did too. I'm thinking that the people of Rainford must be particularly patient, because I was greeted by a very happy young manager named Ben, and we had a proper good old chat. Not just a cursory "how do you do" exchange, but a real good old fashioned natter, before he told me about our new chef Lewis, and then introduced me to young Zoe, who looked after me beautifully for the rest of the afternoon. And I realised, I hadn't had a simple good old fashioned cheeseburger for over two years now, so Zoe brought me a delightfully filling burger with a side order of sweet potato fries. It was delicious. Every bit as good as I remembered it. Maybe the staff might change and the management might be different, but the smiles are just as warm and the food is just as gorgeous. I'm glad I tried the new Golden Lion out. It's still amazing. I'll be checking it out again next month too. FIVE STARS PLUS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(+) #Excellent”

“Ordered from Just Wings UK last night, I have to say I was very impressed with the service. showed up 25 minutes after ordering, everything was spot on, the Mango harbour wrap was out of this world, accompanied perfectly with the jel and some American fries. Will definitely be returning soon”

“Went last weekend and it was great, the bar staff were really fast and service was quick even though it was really busy, special shout-out to Beth who served me and my friends she was lovely and the cocktails were really nice. Overall really good bar for a night out and really good music too! Will definitely be returning.”
