    Ben & Ollie's Breakfast Bar

    ★★★★☆ 4.6
    Closed

“Popped in for brunch on a Sunday morning. Food is the standout for me here. It's great quality for a very reasonable price. We had one of the breakfasts, a shake and a juice between us - sausage was amazing, eggs poached perfectly, toast well buttered and baked beans not too runny. Both the shake and the juice were exactly as advertised and we really enjoyed them. The menu as a whole is excellent and the plates on the other tables looked equally as good. Only thing i would say is that if you like your cafes on the quieter side then Sundays morning possibly not for you. Complete recommend. You won't be dissapointed.”

    Frydays Fish Bar Ltd

“Been a while since last visited but got to say, very impressed with quality. Ordered large haddock which we really enjoyed including wife who is from north of the Watford gap and reckons all the chippys down south are useless and overpriced. Large Chips were great as well, plentiful and everything cooked to order. Well done frydays and well deserved awards!”

    Bar 61 Restaurant

    ★★★★☆ 4.6
    Closed

“Bar 61 reopened on 25 July under new ownership with a soft launch of a slightly limited menu. Grand opening with full menu is scheduled for 1 August. The tapas menu is now much more authentically Spanish, with tortilla being cooked to order, so you have a choice to order it soft Spanish style. The wine list starts with a much more modest £5 a glass/£20 a bottle price point for the house wines. The loos have been completely rebuilt and are clean and shiny, but are located downstairs, so still not great for accessibility.”

“Between my friend and I, we’ve visited The Carlton Lounge about eight times. The service is always exceptional. The staff truly go above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable and have everything you need (and want) to complement your meal. Unfortunately, I forgot the name of the gentleman who served us this time as I misplaced my receipt, but his service was outstanding. The manager was also incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Everyone here is friendly, always smiling, and offers excellent customer service. The food quality, taste is an easy 10/10, the cocktails are delicious, the seating is comfortable, and the atmosphere is lovely (nice music, never too loud). As a bonus, the air conditioning is perfect for these hot days. We’ll definitely be back—thank you! ☺️☺️☺️”

“Lovely little place! I found them on Instagram and after seeing the daily cakes etc posted on there I had to check them out. I went on a Saturday morning, sat outside and had a lovely brunch (Eggs Benedict) and chatted to a couple of ladies outside whilst we all had coffee too. I then treated myself to an amazing cake that I took home for later! Service and food was great. I plan to go back tomorrow morning :)”

    Mare Street Cafe Bar

    ★★★★☆ 4.6
    Closed

“I was early for work and couldn't access the building I needed. So I had a quick look for a coffee and a small bite to eat and spotted this little cafe. It was fairly quiet for a Monday morning, which was a surprise. I had just a coffee and croissant with cannelloni. Both were fresh and tasted great. The price was reasonable, considering I would have paid almost twice as much at most mainstream brands for a coffee alone.”

    The Crown Pub

“Had a lovely Christmas dinner on Christmas Day , the food was good and loads of meat, bit stingy on the veg but non the less it was good food. HUGE Yorkshire pud. The staff, as always , were amazing so welcoming and friendly , the beer cold and a good selection too. Our stay was only marred by a loud, drunk, loads of money , family who really didn’t give a hoot about anyone but themselves , not The Crowns fault but did mar the event for the other patrons there!, hence 4 stars for atmosphere . We love this venue and will be back many times.”

“Fabulous first visit to the monthly brunch sessions on 1st Saturday of each month. Absolutely cracking. A great range on the brunch menu without being overwhelming, good choices and lovely selection of sides/extras. Enjoyed a beautifully presented plate of food that was amazing value for money! Also, try a brunch cocktail, or enjoy with juice or a cuppa. Or a pint! But do go and try. Staff super friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Lovely atmosphere and surroundings, a warm hubbub of chat, a really chilled atmosphere for a good feed after a big night out, a catch up with friends/family/neighbours or colleagues. A local for more than just locals. Dog friendly, family friendly. Just really friendly. Brilliant!!”

“This was my first time visiting the establishment. I had a business meeting. What I liked the most was that we were not asked if we wanted to order food. We booked in as a business meeting, and that was respected. Thank you, staff, for being invisible but visible. It takes a well-trained staff to achieve that goal.”
