Comfortable restaurant in London

“I really appreciated our hostess/waitress looking after us. This was more of a small family restaurant you would find in Italy or the Balkans where the menu is verbally told and some things were simply not ready at the time we arrived. However, having had the soup and burek we were both very happy with how delicious it was. Unlike a lot of London restaurants the food was more like how my serbian grandma used to make, warm and filling. Thanks for having us and we will be back again soon.”

“What a pleasant experience. We were greeted at the door and seated by the friendly "Ben" who anticipated our needs throughout the evening. Ben brought us some complimentary warm focaccia and olives to nibble on while we made our menu choices. The menu has a good balance of dishes and I quickly decided on my choices along with a bottle of Ramaro for the table; I have a soft spot for Sicilian red wine. All dishes were well plated and tasted as good as they looked. The portions were also very generous, perhaps "Mama" was in the kitchen dishing the plates. After the meal, there was little room left for dessert, so I shared a panna cotta with my wife; I have to say that it was the best I've ever tasted. My only regret is that I didn't choose one of the seafood dishes, they looked realy appetizing. My relationship with crustacions has always been one where no matter what precautions I take while shelling them, a jet of oil always squirts out and slashes me on my shirt. Perhaps next visit I'll wear on old shirt or a bib; perhaps both.”

“I had the Linguine Granchio at Bella Vita last night and it was absolutely fantastic — perfectly cooked pasta with tender, flavorful crab in a light, aromatic sauce that tasted incredibly fresh. For dessert, the Tiramisu was heavenly — creamy, rich, and just the right balance of coffee and sweetness. Every bite was pure Italian delight! The service was friendly, and the cozy atmosphere made the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!”

“Delicious Syrian food made with great ingredients and care (eg use of saffron in sauces). Particularly recommend the baba ghanoush and the Mashi (very unusual, I’ve never seen this before in the UK). Maher is also a super friendly, charismatic host. Strongly recommend.”

“Simply Stunning!! Valentines afternoon tea for all the family, we visited as a family age range 3y-68y and there was something for everyone. The food was fresh and extremely tasty, the venue itself was beautiful so special and has perfect photo opportunities and the service was outstanding it felt very personal with lots of extra special touches. “I cannot rate Longcroft high enough! Daisy is an absolute dream person to leave your furry friends with while you are away. She is so nice and easy to deal with and the service she provides is fantastic. We had regular pictures and updates on how our two were doing while we were away, which is so reassuring. We have two young, indoor cats who had never been away from home before. So were a bit worried about how they would adapt but we need not have worried! Daisy won them over in no time and they had a lovely holiday, while we had peace of mind to enjoy ours.”

“All my piercings done with Kd have been very good. Does clear markings before piercing and asks you if the placement is good. Cleans the area to be pierced so very hygienic. He is my go to piercer. I always have a very good experience”

“I’d been wanting to try this restaurant for ages, ever since it came highly recommended by my Italian friends. The crust did not disappoint. While I usually prefer Neapolitan style—super fluffy around the edges—the crisp bite of the outer crust here, paired with the earthy depth of the dough, almost made me reconsider my pizza loyalties. We started with the focaccia, which was as soft as a pillow—only much more delicious. It came with a beetroot balsamic, a completely new discovery for me, and one I’ll now be hunting down for my pantry. If I had one note, it’s that the pizza portions are generous; I only managed about two-thirds before admitting defeat.”

“Went there for my wife's birthday dinner and we were so happy with tasty food and excellent service. Drinks from the bar took a while to prepare so eventually we ordered different drinks but other than that everything went well. Happy wife and kids.”

“We came here first time and we didn't left disappointed. The food was amazing! It's definitely the best Polish restaurant we ever been! We had Żurek to start. For the second course we had Veal cabbage rolls with forest mushroom sauce (Gołabki z cielęciną z sosem grzybowym). I recommend it to everyone it was so delicious. Also we had Beef roulade (Rolada Śląska) witch was perfect in every way. In the end of course I couldn't not have dessert so I had Apple pie (Szarlotka). The food was very good, we had a Groupon for the afternoon tea and it's one of the best we've been to, I especially liked the salmon tataki sandwiches and the cheesecake, definitely recommend. Came back again for dinner and we had small plates, all of them were great. Especially liked the mushroom arancini and the crispy salmon tacos. The chicken bao bun was amazing too, would suggest if the bao could make 2 smaller ones instead of one large then easier to share.”

“I have just been back to PLU, for my third time, and it just keeps getting better. I do not know how this place does not have multiple Michelin stars, it is so much better than all of the 2 starred restaurants I have been to. To think that there is just one chef creating all of these dishes alone in the kitchen is absolutely mind boggling. This restaurant should be top in all of the guides, yet it is just quietly tucked away in St John's Wood and no one seems to know about it. Favourite dishes for me this time round... the tuna, no.. the foie gras, who am I kidding it must be at least one of the parts of the 'lobster trilogy'. Maybe it is easier to decide which of the the two desserts was the best... I said the Opera cake & my other half said definitely the Apple & Blackberry Crumble. Thank goodness you don't need to make choices!”

“We visited the restaurant as a group of five. We were greeted with a warm hello and a smile. Once we were shown to our table, Our order was served fairly quickly. The food was fresh and tasted amazing. We couldn’t resist having seconds which we washed down with spicy Ethiopian tea whilst listening to some pleasant classical Ethiopian music in the background. Great service. Will be back soon.”
