“What a great find. Fab coffee, staff and pastries. Stumbled upon by chance, and will definitely be going back - beats a high st chain coffee and nice to find somewhere local to chill. Keen to sample their wines next time, selection looked varied.”

“This is such a brilliant idea, and makes the meal really interesting when you get to observe the trainees. The food was excellent and we enjoyed guessing what they had been learning about this week based on the menu choices! It was hard to book, and I think we booked about 3 or 4 months in advance. However for the price it’s excellent value for money and a fun evening out! We ate 3 courses and left in exactly 1 hour and I think the attentiveness of the staff made it a very efficient, pleasant and enjoyable meal! We will be coming back.”

We ordered ‘All Hail The Cheese’ & ‘The Duke’ Both delicious in flavour, but would 100% come back for the Alll Hail, Service was quick, and friendly enough, didn’t wait long for the food either, good portion size and very filling. We had a slight issue with what we ordered but was rectified quickly which makes us happier to come back.”

“Baccala in Bermondsey is Italian done with a modern wink but without going full experimental theater. The chef revisits the classics just enough to keep things interesting, without losing the soul of the originals. Seafood gets a lot of love here — fresh, well-prepared, and the kind of dishes that remind you London can actually pull off Mediterranean vibes when it tries. The wine list is excellent, carefully chosen rather than bloated. And the tiramisu? Straight out of nonna’s kitchen — moist, rich, balanced, exactly how it should be. The crowd skews local, mostly Londoners who know where to eat, with only a handful of tourists who’ve clearly done their homework. Reviews brought them here, and honestly, this place earns every star. Service is friendly, not formal and very efficient.”

“Amazing little cafe, excellent food and attention to detail. My wife and I came here for a late breakfast and the staff noticed that we were celebrating our 12 year wedding anniversary. “A wonderful afternoon spent in this traditional, welcoming pub. We arrived early and the hosts kindly accommodated us and 3 dogs without any issue. The roast was a joy, wholesome home cooked food, full of flavour, and a few frills! The desserts were delicious and served with homemade ice cream, the best we have tasted for a long time. The staff were efficient, friendly and very professional, timings were spot-on. We would definitely recommend this pub, the staff, the service and the food, thank you”

“Fancy the best steak in London? Come here. It’s the platonic ideal of a good steak. And the great news is that the wine, desserts, starters and sides are just as fabulous too. It’s also a great, noisy, cosy place with fantastic service. (Shout out to Emma, thanks for serving us so splendidly, and for making my dad — for his birthday — feel especially welcome. “ΑTTENTION: Will start with the negative, but will not affect my rating… when we got the bill, there was the usual 10% service charge added on the bill( not stated as optional), but on the pay machine they asked as for extra tip!!!!! This is unacceptable. Otherwise, nice minimal atmosphere and hand roll sushi. We chose the 5 pieces set menu, Sando and karaage, all delicious! They serve premade cocktails. Mochi for desert. A bit overpriced.”

“My partner and I had a wonderful time at Patara. The service was first class with very friendly and welcoming staff, who were very knowledgeable of the dishes on the menu. The food would give the high end restaurants a run for their money, our dishes were well flavoured and the meats/fishes in the meals were very tender, which enhanced our dining experience. Very happy couple and will be bringing families on our next visit - hopefully sooner than later!!”

“I had an amazing dining experience at Cardamom Room. Adraki Lamb chops were succulent and tender. Chicken Biryani - The biryani was served with raitha, and cooked in a copper pot. It was perfectly cooked and flavourful with a generous amount of chicken. Lamb Shank - Highlight of the night. The lamb itself was amazingly soft and fell right off the bone each time it was pulled away. Mango lassi was delicious. They offered us on the house Onion Bhajji and Masala Karak Chai. The presentation of the dishes were amazing followed by the outstanding service by the staff, they regularly checked on us while we were eating to make sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a great Indian meal in Wanstead.”

“We needed somewhere to celebrate a life. We were lucky enough to choose Lisa's bar at the Stockley Park Golf Clubhouse. They provided a really good buffet for around 100 guests. We were able to display some memories on a TV screen. The service and everything about the day made a very sad occasion as pleasant as possible. Staff were all great. Happily recommend for any occasion. Thank all involved.”

“The black lion is one of my local pubs. Always receive a warm welcome from the owners and the staff. Food and drink is always of a high standard and a competitive price. If you’re looking for a pub to go and have a nice drink or watch sports which it is particularly good for this is your pub. If in the area I would recommend the black lion, you will not be disappointed.”

“Had a really lovely meal at the counter, where you can watch the chefs skilfully prepare amazing sushi and hot dishes. We had the tasting menu and the staff were kind enough to swap out the main course for a pescatarian alternative. All of the courses were fantastically prepared and plated, the ingredients used were fresh and of exceptionally high quality, and the flavours of each dish were distinct and innovative without straying from the classics. If you come here and get their tasting menu, you’ll leave full and happy.”
