“I visit this lovely cafe once a year because it is just down the road from where I get my car serviced and mot’d. They open at 8.30 (ish) and let me sit in until my car is ready - which is very kind of them. They also serve a really nice breakfast baguette and keep the tea coming. They are very friendly and helpful.”

Located on the High Road, this charming spot has been a local favorite since 1985, and it’s clear why. The menu is packed with options, from hearty sandwiches to fresh salads and comforting classics. I went for the Chicken Escalope sandwich, and it was on point – tender, perfectly cooked chicken in a soft granary roll with crisp lettuce, cucumber, and a zesty lemon mayo that made every bite pop. My buddy chose the lasagna, served piping hot with golden fries and a fresh side salad – classic comfort food done right. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, with generous portions and bold flavors. The staff were a real highlight – super friendly, attentive, and full of warmth. Joseph, in particular, stood out, greeting us with a genuine smile and keeping everything running smoothly, even as the place hummed with lunchtime diners. Sadly Barking has become an absolute rookery , and barking park once being a landmark is one of the very few things left that gives the town any appeal and would be in despair without it. “Absolutely fantastic little restaurant that offers fantastic food, a friendly, welcoming staff and a great atmosphere. Honestly the best breakfast I've ever had and I find it almost impossible to walk past without giving in to temptation and dropping in any time I'm local. The staff really do make it worthwhile - friendly, smiley, cheerful and make any meal a pleasure. The food is great tasting and incredibly good value for money. Highly, highly recommended. “Very nice spot just by the Hampton Court Bridge. I met with a friend for some brunch on a Sunday mid-morning. It was super busy as the sun was out, but the food was very tasty and worth the slight wait. Service was very good and attentive, plenty of seating inside and out back! But if you get the chance, take a seat out front and enjoy the scenery and bustling area.”

“Great pub with outside space. Ideally have a reservation on saturdays to make sure you get inside but usually its not too crowded on saturdays. They have a really good cider on tap (my fav) not too sweet, not too dry. They also have food but not really gf options as far as I remember besides crisps. They have loads of outside space and heaters too! They also have three bars - one outside and two inside - top and bottom!”
