“I attended the Autumn Spa Day with my Mum today, which was a birthday gift. We had an absolutely lovely time, the facilities are wonderful, loved the various sauna/steam rooms etc available. The outdoor thermal pool was fabulous too. We also joined in with an aqua aerobics class which was on at the time and we really enjoyed it. To finish off we had a 50 minute treatment which was incredible, the girls were wonderful who did the treatments and made sure we were always happy & comfortable. The staff on the spa reception were also really helpful and happy to help us. Although the changing rooms were a little tired and in need on a facelift, it didn’t affect our visit whatsoever! We would definitely return!”

“Stayed over Thursday night and had a very cosy and hospitable stay. We ate there today and the food was exceptional with great portion sizes. We were very impressed. Helen and Hattie served us and we couldn't have asked for more, it was a warm welcome and top service from both. Couldn't recommend it enough. Will be back in the future.”

“We were sceptical about staying at The Hyde venue as we knew it wasn’t as renovated as its local sites such as the Ashton site. Having recently visited to use the swimming facilities we were met by friendly staff so we decided to book an overnight here due to the low costs. Being regulars at sites such as Manchester’s dokota and the midland we naturally had high standards basing our recommendations off google and trip advisor ratings. I can honestly say after meeting Kai and Kiki at the bar they completed our stay. They were so welcoming and genuine honest people who cared to take the time to speak to you despite their clear busy work schedule. Before meeting them the staff were friendly but did the bare minimum. I feel I need to give a special mention to these two individuals because they go above and beyond what is expected and deserve to be recognised by management and higher as they have staff that exceed their pay grade. What they provided was above and beyond what any of the 5* venues we visit in Manchester City centre and we will return on the back of their hospitality alone. I hope this review allows the recognition they deserve, having started my career in hospitality at the age of 15 I know how hard it is to show care and general interest in clients but they do so in an impeccable manner. “Overall, a good place to rest in Manchester. Despite the necessity of a new face and a general cleaning, the hotel offers comfortable beds, quiet rooms, and the staff there was very friendly! Moreover, the price was very affordable being an hotel near the city centre (5 min walking).”

“Fantastic hotel! Only about a 10 minute walk from Piccadilly station, and the city centre. The rooms are small, but perfect for anyone on a budget. Lots of storage. Shower was incredible, as were the beds. Very comfortable! Staff were all lovely, and the reception has a pretty cool layout. Will definitely re-book here if we ever end up in Manchester again! :)”

“I had a work conference at this place. Beautiful building and very open grounds. Room was nice and modern but I heard they have some older looking ones too. Staff were helpful, friendly and made sure we enjoyed our stay. A bit pricey but I'd probably go again.”

“Nearly didn't book here due to some bad reviews. Glad I did because the place is fine. It does look a bit tatty on the outside but it is OK inside. Although it is on a main road into Manchester we were surprised at how little traffic there was overnight. Our room was overlooking the road and we had no problem with traffic noise. It had acoustic double glazing that was very effective. There is no air con but a fan is provided which helps. We were there on one of the hottest days/nights and found it tolerable. The meal deal was good. You eat in the pub which is attached to the hotel. Unfortunately it doesn't have any real ale but the Draught Guinness was good. There was a selection of lager and cider. So don't be put off, if it is convenient for you go for it.”

“I've rated this as a five star as I believe previously this place has suffered some bad reviews. It's not a 5 star place, It's not fancy or modern. It was warm enough for me and comfortable, peaceful and a short walk to the train station. Excellent value for money, half the price of the Travelodge down the road. I will likely stay again in the future.”

“Yea I stayed here for nearly 8 months from July 2019 to March 2020 and you what it my by far the best place i stayed at i absolutely loved my time there i stayed in room 8 which the best room in the hotel and the only one with a massive TV on the AND SAFE WAS A LIVERPOOL FAN JUST LIKE ME when I was homeless i stayed in hotels all over Manchester AND THE HAWTHORNS HOTEL WAS BY FAR THE BEST I MISS MY TIME THERE X”

“I stayed at the Springfield whilst on a cycling tour, and I am disappointed that a large number of negative posts are based on viewing a cleverley edited TV show, and not from personal experience. Although I only stayed 1 night, I found the hosts friendly, the rooms adequate, and breakfast set me up for a day in the saddle. I”

“We needed somewhere to crash for an extended period of time before a flight. The staff here were very helpful when we arrived. We can not fault the guy on the phone and the lady on site for how good they were to us. The room was a lot more spacious than expected and it had the cricket test on the telly. The bed wasn’t amazing, but the room was cheap so we were not expecting the Ritz. We got lunch nearby at San Carlo, which was very close and tasty.”

I have found the owner and staff extremely helpful and courteous, it is clean and quiet and very reasonably priced baring in mind its location.
