“We booked a table online for 10/9/25 and mentioned we would be bringing our well behaved dog.. Absolutely wonderful dining experience. The service was fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious. The owner?/chef came and checked everything was ok and had a chat. We will definitely be back. Doggo was very welcomed too... much appreciated. Thank you team Swan.”
“We chose Hilltop Country House as our wedding venue back in 2020 for our June 2022 wedding. It is perfection - the staff, the food & drink, the surroundings, etc. Our wedding day was simply magical. Clare was available for us whenever we needed her - nothing was ever too much and it made the wedding planning so enjoyable! I would highly, highly, highly recommend Hilltop Country House - there is a reason it has been voted the best wedding venue in Cheshire!”
“Been to Fernhill Hotel twice now and its really good value for money if you need to stay in and around Manchester, you will ideally need a car though as it's situated in a remote farm area, which does mean it is very quiet! The rooms are nice and are a mixture of modern and traditional, the main bedroom and desk are made from wooden and are of an older style, no issue with it though everything functions as needed. The bathroom/shower puts many mainstream hotels to shame, very modern styled bathroom, the shower has great water pressure and even has a heated towel rack, the only minor downside is there is a lack of an area to put toiletries other than the sink. Overall, a great stay and excellent value for money.”
“Had a 2 night stay here for exploring the local attractions, the hosts are very Friendly and knowledgeable. A good choice of breakfast items that the cook for you fresh, good quality food too. The local pub just a short walk away has excellent dining for a relaxing evening too.”
“Absolutely wonderful suite, brilliantly placed for travelling to local sites of interest. Hosts are attentive and offered brilliant advice on what was worth going to look at, couldn't have asked for more”
“Excellent little place, upstairs is amazing full of recycled crafts, materials, wool you name it you can find it, downstairs new crafts but all very much good price. Its a little gem and glad we found it .”
“Went for something to eat. Great service and a good menu to choose from. When the food came it was top quality and value for money. We went in the dark so found the drive a bit tricky but that would not stop me from going again.”
“Absolutely beautiful place! We stayed in the deluxe family room with our 4 month old which was really big with two bedrooms open to each other joined by steps with a king bed and double bed. You can reach the bedroom via the path outside which is good for a pram, or via the stairs through the pub. The owner and all staff are extremely friendly and chatty. We stayed for one night and had breakfast which was a lovely cooked breakfast with a good choice, and they also had cereal and yoghurt options with fresh juices, The bar is welcoming and had a good selection of drinks, also had their lovely little dogs walking round too. It’s very popular and busy, we stayed in October so I can imagine it’s very popular in the summer. The kids playground was good too with the animals in it and two lovely goats. We’d highly recommend this pub either for food or to stay too, and we’d love to return.”
“Cannot recommend this beautiful venue highly enough. We chose by chance ahd couldn’t be happier. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left 3 days later the staff and owners were nothing less than perfect hosts. Everyone was friendly and helpful, the food was simply incredible, the venue is gorgeous and the atmosphere is so peaceful and chilled. Our room was stylish, beautifully furnished and comfortable. We will DEFINITELY be back. A hidden gem of a place.”
“As I spend my working week in hotels, it’s great to find the odd jewel whilst away, This place is absolutely that,,, A lovely room on a beautiful farm with only a few animals to entertain, what stood out for me was the amazing service from Caroline, from the initial greeting to the best bacon sandwich the next day… I am sure this will be my base from now on as I stay in the west…”
“We had a wonderful stay at Dakota Hotel Manchester and it truly felt like a pure luxury experience from start to finish. The decor throughout the hotel is absolutely stunning, elegant, modern, and beautifully finished, giving the whole place a calm and sophisticated atmosphere. The staff were exceptional, warm, welcoming, and genuinely pleasant, always happy to help and making us feel valued as guests. Our room was amazing, spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated with high quality finishes that made it feel both stylish and incredibly comfortable. The food and drinks were outstanding. Everything we tried was full of flavour, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care and attention to detail. The bar area in particular was a lovely place to relax, with an impressive selection of cocktails and a refined ambience. The hotel’s location is another huge plus. It is only about a six minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station, which made getting in and out of the city completely effortless. Overall, Dakota Hotel Manchester delivers a true five star experience. Luxurious surroundings, exceptional service, fantastic food, and a perfect central location, we could not have asked for a better stay and would absolutely return.”
“Great location. Pricey nowadays. Showers were lukewarm. It's a campsite, not a hotel...upon which Google reviews does not differenciate.”
“We stayed in the B&B for one night. Fabulous place and views. Really comfortable, quiet and clean room. The breakfast was delicious and our host Alice was very friendly. We will definitely be back.”
“We had a great time here, we stayed in Cabin 1 and it was so peaceful. We had our 7 month old to think about and this worked well as we could have dinner and relax in the evening and she could sleep in the cot in the bedroom and we wouldn't disturb here like we would in a hotel in one room. Staff were lovely and friendly and the site was clean. Hot tub was great to chill in the sunshine. Lovely walks around Dovestone Reservoir just a stones throw away. Have already recommended to family and would absolutely recommend again particularly for young families who like lots of countryside walks and exploring the local area.”
“Hi left our 2 staffies here at weekend for the first time . Both my boys don’t go in kennels much at all but would definitely return to birch pet hotel if we were to leave them again Thanks for looking after my 2 giddy boys Diane”
“Our families have used The Hinton Guest House a few times for their stays when visiting us in the area, and it has always been a fantastic choice. Most recently, my parents stayed for 7 nights in December 2024, and once again, the experience was excellent. Ann has consistently been extremely helpful and responsive, making the booking process straightforward and stress-free. Her attention to detail and warm hospitality truly set this guest house apart. The guest house is in a central position in Mobberley village, making it incredibly convenient. It’s just a couple of minutes’ walk to the Coop mini market, the local pharmacy, and a bus station with routes to Knutsford, Wilmslow, Macclesfield, and Altrincham. Additionally, it’s approximately a 10-minute walk to the local pubs, perfect for a relaxed evening out. The rooms and premises are always spotless, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay. The breakfast service is a highlight—the food is cooked to perfection, and the service is attentive and friendly. We’re so fortunate to have such a reliable and high-quality accommodation nearby. I highly recommend The Hinton Guest House to anyone visiting the area. Thank you, Ann, for always making our families feel so welcome!”
“I had a great stay here. The bathroom was modern and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the service was really nice. I asked for cheese to have for breakfast and they brought me some. The breakfast basket they provided contained some nice items. I had a one day stay for business. Booking was through our corporate system. I managed to park on premises, no issues as the site is safe. Upon leaving they requested payment, I mentioned that the corporate booking company would settle, and offered to leave my details in case of issues, they appreciated this. No problems whatsoever. I'd definitely stay again when visiting Manchester for business. If there's one thing I would like them to improve is the breakfast offering. There's a fridge in the room, please offer slices of cold cuts such as cheese and ham along with bread and butter, you don't need to leave these items in the fridge for every guest but I do believe you should have them on demand if requested. I was provided two small blocks of cheese rather than slices, I was happy to have the cheese but I was unable to have a "proper" breakfast sandwich of buttered bread with cheese and ham slices... a chunky block of cheese does not taste very good in the middle of a huge piece of bread.”
“What an amazing B&B. Sharon and Dave were simply wonderful hosts, with my family descending on them for the weekend for a nearby wedding. The beautiful flowers on the door were a good omen that we were in safe hands. The decor in the cottage was lovely and the whole place was well maintained. Sharon did a great job providing breakfast for all of us and they made us feel very welcome. It was a lovely break from urban life, would definitely recommend to others and I'd happily stay there again!”
“I stayed at The Lamb Inn for one night with a friend while visiting the Peak District. We arrived late, but the staff were very accommodating and provided us with the keys right away. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was absolutely amazing—definitely a highlight of our stay. The only minor issue was that the shower leaked at the bottom, so the water didn’t drain properly. Other than that, everything was great. The inn is conveniently located for exploring the Peak District, though you will need a car to get around. We even spotted some Highland cows nearby, which was a lovely surprise. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay—I’d happily recommend it for a visit to the area.”
“This is a really good pub with a great range of beers, very good food and excellent service by attentive, friendly staff. After we’d had a kitchen nightmare at home, we phoned the pub on the off-chance and they fitted our group of 5 (and 2 dogs) straight in for a super Sunday lunch. We were looked after superbly and can’t speak highly enough of the team and quality of our roasts!”
“Amazing authentic guest house. Location is ideal as it's central to Hollingworth Lake and Littleborough or Smithybridge Station. Rooms are spacious and ensuite. Tea and coffee and nibbles in the room and a big old bay window. Really friendly owner who couldn't do enough for me . Fully recommend as a solo, couples, or family visit.”
“The most incredible place I have ever stayed. The lobby smells absolutely gorgeous, it’s so warm and friendly and the staff are so lovely. The suite was crazy. They had left a “Happy Birthday” card and neon sign above the bed as a lovely little touch. Absolutely worth every single penny. Thank you everyone! Amazing central location”
“Wonderful place to stop and enjoy beautiful countryside around you. Facilities were beautifully clean and staff were helpful. Good walks close by, a pub serving meals and a wonderful cafe too .”
“New Manager Salvatoire was very welcoming. Great business lunch, steaks cooked to perfection. Service - genuine, attentive but not intrusive. Nice atmosphere with fires burning. Well done guys, we will be back.”
“Stayed at the Sycamore Inn a few years ago. We were visiting from the United States and had put together a family reunion with 25 members of my British family. Sammy and her staff were fantastic! Food and service outstanding! Rooms are very nice. On a drive by last year we popped in to say hello and Sammy remembered us. We were going to visit again in a few weeks and found out the heartbreaking news regarding the upcoming closure. I cannot thank Sammy and her team enough, you definitely will be missed. All the best in the future. Chris and Ronna Smith”
“A rare gem of a B&B! Firstly, driving into Hayfield offers some fantastic views of the Peak District. Millie's is conveniently located right in the centre with plenty of parking outside and around that is free. We never struggled to find a space. Rukiya is very welcoming and kept in touch leading up to our visit and on the day of with lots of useful information and to keep in communication with us. She was there to greet us at the door and showed us to our room - Twenty Trees. The room was lovingly decorated with a cute view of the trail leading to Kinder Scout over the top of some roofs. Millie's is ideally located for many things. There is Sett Valley Trail conveniently located a stones throw away as well as the Kinder Scout trail. We also travelled 20mins and visited Castleton for the Speedwell Cavern (really cool) and Mam Tor hike. Lyme Park is not far either and there's also Buxton and Bakewell. Rukiya is by far my favourite ever host at a B&B - I have stayed at a fair few! She really loves what she does and that passion shines through. Her breakfast dishes were all freshly made and so delicious as well as the coffee and sweet treats. The sausages were divine. We also bought some chocolates to take home and try. Thank you Rukiya for your outstanding service. We're now planning to return soon for afternoon tea with family so we can try all of her delicious bakes too! This has to be booked in advance though so bare that in mind. She's constantly booked up for the B&B so I advise you book early to avoid disappointment and direct for the best prices. The tea room is only open on the weekends. During the weekday, Rukiya has breakfast service for B&B guests only. She can also make sandwiches for packed lunch for hikes with prior notice. Can't wait to visit again and also congratulations on being the only halal B&B in the whole of the Peak District. Millie's is welcoming to everyone. The outdoors is for everyone to enjoy and I'm so glad I have finally visited after waiting 3 whole years!”
“That sounds like a lovely review! Here’s a slightly polished version you could post online if you’d like it to sound a bit more refined while keeping your genuine tone: ⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Love this place — I’ve been here four times now, and every visit has been fantastic. The food, staff, and atmosphere are always amazing. You’re made to feel so welcome, and nothing is ever too much trouble. Can’t wait to go back again very soon!”
“I’ve been here twice. It’s quiet, clean and pleasant. The staff is wonderful, always available to assist with kindness. I’ll surely come back again.”
“The best stay we have ever had! Amazing service, the friendliest and most personable staff, our first time in Manchester and we received so many recommendations, so many homely touches and genuinely it has been the best hotel with the best value for money we have ever stayed in”
“Russ was just awesome can't rate him highly enough. He showed us around the entire hotel and gave us all the interesting history. People make the place, on top of the hotel being awesome Russ took it up another level. Wish Russ all the best for the future.”
