“My wife and I came for lunch, having previously visited for drinks a few weeks ago. We are trying all the local eateries as we will shortly be moving here. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and it all seemed very well organised. The food was excellent and we both really enjoyed the Sunday Dinner menu which was available on bank holiday Monday. Decor is really nice and the pub has a welcoming feel. Nice to see dogs are welcomed in the bar and garden areas. Will most definately be returning”

“⭐ One Love Kitchen – A True Gem in Ashton ⭐ I’ve just had one of the best meals I’ve ever tasted from One Love Kitchen. The fish is absolutely incredible — I ordered it half an hour in advance so they could prepare it fresh, and it was worth every minute. A perfect fillet, no bones, beautifully seasoned, and cooked with real love. I added the jerk sauce, and honestly, it complements the fish so well… rich, warm, and full of flavour. The staff are outstanding too — decades of experience in Jamaican cooking, and you can taste that wisdom in every bite. They treat you like family the moment you walk in. This place has become my go-to for Jamaican food in Ashton. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out. One Love. Unity in a time of division.”

“Decided to have a quiet midweek meal top celebrate my birthday and my daughter passing her driving test. Paul couldn't have delivered better service. he greeted us warmly on arrival and congratulated us both, which took me by surprise. He even had a birthday card and a congratulations card ready on our table. the service from Paul was attentive and friendly whilst the food was great too. we also took advantage of the tesco vouchers offer for a total bargain. thank you!”

“The Birches is a very welcoming pub, great atmosphere with an open fireplace to warm any weary traveller. A great selection of beers and larger, I had a glass of their Australian Shiraz, which was very nice; much nicer than what is usually served in pubs. Food is served using locally sourced produce. It is traditional, very well cooked, and served on nice warm plates. Recommended to all.”

“Lovely oasis of calm (no pun intended) in the midst of Heaton Park tucked away from the busier and noisier playground and lake areas. Good food, reasonably priced served by friendly staff. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome outdoors (not inside). And you can pick up some lovely plants from the garden centre on the way out!”

“Came here today with my friend to grab a quick bite and some coffee ! My friend is coeliac and can never find cafés with gluten free bread. Although we know most restaurants can’t guarantee the risk of cross contamination, Katie made a conscious effort to ensure my friends toast was gluten free and prepared separately from mine. I will be returning, great family friendly place to pop by for a quick drink !”

“Their woodoven fired pizzas and true italian flavored pizzas are delicious. Special shoutout to the ‘save the bees’ pizza with pepperoni, Parmesan and some tasty honey. Simple but tasty, as pizza should be tasting.”

“We enjoyed another great meal at La Lupa on 9th Feb. I was a little concerned from the recent poor reviews, and while the service is slow the food was as good as ever. The bruschetta, pizzas and meatball spaghetti were amazing! Oh and the tiramisu was great! Although the service is slow I actually quite enjoyed not being rushed to order and so it made for a very relaxed evening.”

“Had wanted to go for ages and today was the day and didn't disappoint. Food was amazing had a roast turkey dinner it was heaven. Partner had the steak with red wine pie ,beautiful he said best ever. Empty plates. Kids meal demolished as was the ice cream and the adult hot fudge cake. Staff were so polite and friendly. Will be there again soon x”

“Live around the corner from this pizza takeaway. It's not been open long so tonight we had the pizza takeaway and a garlic bread. First off ,real home baked pizza dough, second was the box was bone dry,no dripping grease under the pizza which was absolutely beut. The choice of garlic bread and pizza toppings are amazing. All in all.10/10 from me. New owners should be proud.”

The interior is beautifully designed, with a perfect balance of modern and rustic touches. The staff really knows their stuff when it comes to food – you can tell they take pride in what they do. “It’s in a very nice location inside a bookshop. It can get a bit crowded during Uni lunch hour but the quick and friendly service makes up for it. The place is also clean. I got a pistachio latte which was delicious. Looking forward to visiting again soon.”

“Have visited this place on a number of occasions. It is a Sam Smith's pub so they only sell their own brewed beers but the prices are very reasonable. Friendly staff and I guess that mainly older patrons (like myself) will enjoy visits to this pub. There is an open fire during the cold weather. A traditional pub that you can access from the main street by descending steps.”

“We have just moved into the area and decided to take a chance on this place after a long day of unpacking. What a wonderful evening we had! We were greeted and served by Luize, Kate, and Sue who were all very warm, welcoming, and inviting. The food was gorgeous and exactly what we needed, and the atmosphere was great (I'm an 80s child and to hear lots of the music of the time was just the icing on the cake for me). Firmly think this will be one of our favourite places for the foreseeable future! Thank you guys for making a very hard day that much more bearable!”
