“I went in today to drop my plane iron off for the in-store sharpening service. Nathaniel offered to call me back once it was done, and give me a demo on how to set the plane up, and use it as well. He went above and beyond with getting the blade flat and sharp, and set it up beautiful, giving me some fantastic advice! It's my Grandad's old plane so I'm absolutely thrilled to have it working, and cannot thank Nathaniel enough. Aside from this, I always get great service and advice, and great products of course - cannot recommend the store and team enough.”

“Brilliant place with a great atmosphere. Very comfortable and welcoming with extremely friendly volunteers running it. Brings a real sense of community which is part of the aim. They run a fab cafe with some very different choices of food and also include vegetarian and vegan options too. Events and projects for the community run during the day and the evening. There's a bar for evening events which serves a great selection of drinks at incredibly reasonable prices. A very relaxed informal welcoming place. Open mic night is lots of fun with anyone and everyone encouraged to get up and play or sing. Very eclectic with something for everyone. Lots of local artisans and artists sell their wares here too and there are lots of plans in the pipeline yet to come”

“Went to watch Cinderella over the Christmas period. The cast were brilliant and the script very well written. As others have mentioned, the ugly sisters were the stars of the show with lots of interaction with the audience. Overall, very good value for money on the initial purchasing of tickets and what the play delivered. I wasn't sure on the parking arrangements and it appears limited where you can park but there were some spaces behind and around the row of shops. We caught the bus to the local precinct and walked the 10 minutes so that is a viable option. The venue itself has food and drink on sale that is very reasonably priced and you can pay both with cash and card. It is a small venue that until recently I did not know even existed. It's intimate and seating, while seen better days, was adequate and even after the near 3 hours being there, was not feeling uncomfortable. Overall, an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon with family”

“Went to see STUART MICHAEL. Would definitely recommend! It was my first ever show of this kind. It was packed out! Would suggest getting there at least half hour before any show starts to get a carpark space behind the theatre.”

Aleina in particular was a wonderful host who took really good care of us all. This is the third year in a row we've had birthday parties at the Light, and it never disappoints!”

“Brilliant theatre. The oldest little theatre in the UK. Excellent regular variety of shows very well acted. Good bar area. The seating is comfortable and tiered so that all seats give a good view. Parking available next door with a lovely helpful chap who deserves a mention. Some notable present and past honorary members such as Sir Ian McKellen, Dame Sybil Thorndike and locally born Dame Wendy Hillier.”

“The inside is very modern, clean and welcoming. They have a drinks bar with tea and coffee as well. The seats are very comfortable. Just been to see Murder by Misadventure which was brilliant! I will recommend to all my friends to help support such a wonderful local theatre.”

“My husband booked a surprise evening for us to see Macbeth. Upon arrival we were greeted by some lovely people and they were happy to answer a few questions we had. We arrived early as we’d read that the waiting area and bar can get a little busy. Drinks prices were reasonable and plenty of choice. I was pleasantly surprised when we then went through to the auditorium, it was bigger than I thought and everything looked great - the stage set was brilliant! The seats are comfortable and with a little break to stretch the legs helped. The theatre is set within a residential area so you may need to park and walk a little to it, this was no problem for us. I have to say the play itself was absolutely fantastic and well done to all the actors. The fight scenes were exciting, the weird sisters and their “bubbling” cauldron was great and the demise of Macbeth into utter madness was acted out brilliantly. We’ll definitely be visiting again. Our only disappointment is that we have to wait until next year to see another play - but we’ll definitely be there. Thanks for a great evening!”

“A gem of a theatre for Bolton and surrounding areas. I've seen a wide variety of productions here over the years. From excellent stand up comedy, to great drama and inventive musicals. Good food in the attached restaurant and bar. The recent production of Dickens' Christmas Carol was brilliant and entertaining. Highly recommended venue. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“We saw Neil Simon’s play “The Odd Couple” last night at Wigan Little Theatre. It was an excellent production, really funny, well acted, costumes and sets were superb. Theatre itself was a lovely old place, comfy and clean, great bar area and place for teas coffees etc in the interval. This is a gem of a place, run and maintained entirely by volunteers. A local treasure belonging to Wigan ❤️. Can’t wait for our next visit.”

“This place is five ⭐ stars!! Afternoon event for a Holy Communion! Food, atmosphere and staff all amazing. A sense that they all enjoy their work!! Very clean and probably the best breakfast food I’ve had in years! Perfection!! Value for money also was a 5/5!!!! My son who has autism enjoyed his food and ate it so that’s a big compliment!!! We will be back!!!”

“Cannot recommend enough - this was Reuben's 4th groom, his first 'all-over' cut (and the 3rd different groomer I've been to because I want happy with the first two) The staff are lovely and took time to really listen to how I wanted him doing, while diplomatically advising me what would look best. He looked absolutely fabulous when he was done and I'm so relieved to finally find a groomer who I have confidence in”
