“Went here as a group of eight and I have to say that I was positively surprised. The location right at the harbour, the ambiance and the food really blew my mind. The prices are good for the quality and amount of expertly prepared meals which include a starter and main course. Toilets are hygienic too. Really give this place a try - I highly recommend it!”

“My family and I had lunch in the bar on bank holiday Monday. As you would expect Newcastle was very busy as was this bar however the manager and serving staff let people know the possible waiting time and gave updates until our food was served. The bar itself was well stocked and cocktails are definitely on the menu with their own mixologist to provide recommendations. The food was warm, delicious and well presented. I had haddock and chips, my husband had a burger (it arrived with bacon cheese and 3 huge onion rings) and my son had beef stir-fry. The interior is very eclectic with lots of oldie worldie gadgets, posters and ornaments relating to Newcastle and Northern Ireland. We were seated beside the window and had a fantastic view of the sea and the busy main street - definitely the best position for watching the world go by. Our waitress was wonderful, friendly, professional and asked numerous times if there was anything else we needed. I would definitely recommend a visit - we will be heading back”

“First time I was ever here, always wanted to go. Place is beautifully decorated inside, much bigger than you would imagine from outside. The cocktails are gorgeous and the staff are very friendly and attentive. We ended up getting food too, which was also really lovely. The menu is also great and a little different from all the menus that are in a lot of places now, which is nice.”

“Went on 18 Dec 2020 to pickup a boat. It is a wild place, good to clear out the lungs. People salt of the earth, pity the ferry was not running due to Covid, would have been a great experience to cross the Lough.”

“Another wonderful meal at Percy’s. Friendly staff, good food and a welcoming atmosphere, not much more to ask for.”

“We visited last summer and I am just now looking this place up to recommend to friends who are traveling soon. This is, by far, the most welcome we have ever felt in a B&B. The rooms are cozy and luxe, remodeled completely by the hosts. Books abound. Nooks to drink coffee in, space for groups, and an absolutely lovely child and pup are roaming around. Hosts picked us up from the bus station, fed us in the mornings, and took us to the foot of Slieve Donard to hike and explore Tollymore forest. We were only there a short time, but I can confidently say we will return to Newcastle and to Bryansford cottage. I believe they are adding on an event space which I am sure will only enhance the grounds. I apologize for my lack of photos of the indoor space, but just know that they are beautiful and will be up to your expectations. Attached are photos of the grounds, the forest and our hike.”
