“Top tier staff. My wife and I left with a smile on our faces. We were well taken care of.”
“Very attentive staff and delicious food, would highly recommend a visit. Was a slight wait for our table as it was a busy Saturday night however we were offered a drink in the cocktail bar.”
“A truly beautiful location and a lavish cavery to match. The service was excellent, everyone was very attentive and kind. The menu is traditional but diverse for a Sunday Cavery but enhanced in terms of quality and portions. The price is a little higher than your average cavery but as mentioned, the quality of items and the diverse amount of products that it comes with (seasonal veg, cauliflower cheese, goose fat roast potatoes, red cabbage and the finest yorkshire pudding i've had in some time) make a special meal. Highly recommend as we will certainly be back again.”
“Already busy at 6pm (although it was a Saturday so kind of to be expected) so there was already a nice atmosphere upon entry. No fuss in being directed to our table with a warm friendly greeting. The menu isn’t too extensive which is always a positive for me. Have enough choice but not bewildering so. The standout starter was the ribs. Great taste and just enough for a good portion but not too filling. The wings were ok but there are better out there. Steak time. We went for a 300 gram sirloin and the trio of steaks (small portion of fillet, sirloin and ribeye). The sirloin was tasty and cooked as ordered (rare) and the trio of steaks was bigger than expected and also cooked to perfection (medium rare). The sweet potato fries were very good as were the steak chips. The side order of mushrooms were the perfect accompaniment to our meal. We passed on dessert as we were already full. Very reasonable prices and the great staff just added to this as a recommendation from me. FYI there is limited parking on the high street so unless we missed the large carpark somewhere close it should be taken into account.”
“Visited for Sunday Lunch on 26th May. We did book the week previously, and glad we did as i dont think we would have got a table. Parking is plentiful if you have an earlier booking, but can be busy later on and you may have to park away from pub and short walk in. Plenty of seating outside, especially if weather is warm. I had a pint of San Miguel and my wife had a Malibu and coke, which was £9.20. We were seated at our allotted time and the restaurant was busy but tables not too close and they cater for larger parties. There is a 2 or course option for Sunday lunch, we opted for the 2 courses for £25. I had the topside roast beef and my wife had the chicken. There is an option for Lamb shoulder (i will be having next visit). We were served quickly and the staff are very attentive and friendly. My roast beef was delicious as were the roast potatoes, Yorkshire, the roast parsnips and carrots, were also yummy. The veg came out seperate with peas, beans , leeks and cabbage, all of which were very fresh and cooked to perfection, we asked for extra veg and extra gravy. I think you get a better deal with the Chicken option as you get pigs in blankets and stuffing, which you dont get on the beef?? Anyway, my wife said it was the best roast she has had in more than a decade (high praise indeed). I have to agree, the meal was delicious and the portion generous as i could not finish my beef. We could not fault a thing on the plate, so compliments to the kitchen staff. For desert we had Sticky toffee pudding, i had custard and my wife had extra sauce and butterscotch ice cream. It was light yet scrumptious, and we were both full to bursting. The toilets were lovely and clean and probably the best toilets i have visited in a pub/restaurant for along time. Overall, value for money and the food superb. The service excellent, especially Tim the manager, a lovely kind man. By the way for all 3 courses it is £32. We will be back in the next couple of weeks as this was the best Sunday lunch for miles and miles.”
“A gem of a cafe with truly exceptional food and service. It's places like these that make a day out worth it. I was in Kettering on business, but I'm going to be honest - I'd go back just for another meal here.”
“Best chips around. Great darts team too. Good range of beers and guest beers too”
“This is my favourite pub - good food at reasonable prices and pleasant staff. It has a good selection of ales anr is quite a popular place”
“Fantastic family restaurant, great atmosphere, service and of course food. Best pizza by miles”
“Oh my God you guys have GOT to try this place. It's been a long time since we've had a mean for a group that can only be described as an experience. Excellent service, amazing location, lovely atmosphere and above all, amazing food. They also have a large vegan menu. I guarantee you will not leave disappointed.”
“Lovely cafe with great service and a pretty outside courtyard. The team were welcoming and accommodating even when we turned up shortly before the kitchen was due to close with a large party. The food was great too!”
“What a fabulous place! Take friendly staff, a nice welcome as we arrived and what a menu. Granted, not the cheapest, but the food was sublime, well presented, delightfully cooked, and the food was front and centre to the experience, we had coffee outside afterwards, which just wrapped things up for us.. I love about 45 minutes away, but it's well worth the journey to get there.. I had scallops with black pudding, which was so flavoursome to start and half a lobster, which was an impressive size, well worth the money. The other main had was a lobster roll.. simple, but very tasty.. The lemon meringue was the right condonation of tangy and crunchy, chewy meringue..”
“It was a faultless evening for us. The staff were very warm and welcoming. The food was exceptional and really reasonably priced. The wine choice was brilliant. They went to the added effort of arranging a birthday card to be on the table. I'll be back again, thank you for a wonderful evening.”
“Had a great meal at Pete’s Fish Bar in Ringstead, the food was fresh, delicious, and cooked perfectly. What made the experience even better was the fantastic service from April. She was warm, friendly, and really attentive, making us feel so welcome. Her excellent customer service truly stood out. Highly recommend!”
“This little Thai family run restaurant was recommended by a friend. We are foodies, and were delighted to find the recommendation a good one. Very friendly welcome, spotlessly clean, good efficient service and delicious authentic food. Tim yum soup excellent, though it was hot enough to make my eyes water, the balance of spice and chilly was perfect and the meat was tender. Same for pNang curry, duck in plum sauce, and beef with basil. Fish for our vegetarian companion was perfectly cooked, and we'll presented. Pad Thai dish was fragrant and plentiful. Good value for money. Happy to go there again.”
“Big portion size, you need to be hungry before you come here! Food was really well cooked and delicious!”
“Exceptional food and service as always. I’d rather a takeaway from here than eat in at most Indian restaurants due to the quality. Fast delivery and exceptional service.”
“Went to this wonderful restaurant on Saturday lunchtime and had a mesmerising soup and fried potato main. Being British I wanted to try something new and was very impressed with the menu! Me and my brother will be back to try something on the evening menu. Thank you for a great lunch all the best x”
“Absolutely amazing experience at Wama’s Lounge in Kettering! The food was incredible - full of flavour and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was a hit! The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and professional, which made the experience even better. The ambience was spot on - stylish, comfortable, and perfect for a chill night out or a special occasion. Deffo recommend this place to anyone looking for quality food and great vibes. I’ll definitely be coming back!”
“It’s such a nice place. The service was a bit cold but it’s still alright. But the kebabs…… THEY WERE SOOO GOOD. Highly recommended place.”
“We came to Mumtaz at Merlin’s for a friend’s birthday,.. the restaurant has a cosy authentic feel, the food was great and the staff were absolutely fantastic and very attentive ! I can’t wait to celebrate my birthday here soon .. highly recommended.”
“One of my most favourite hotels in the whole of England! We make a pilgrimage to this hotel every year due to the most peaceful experience. One year we did the 3 days Christmas stay too! It’s just a beautiful 15th century oak panel building. The great dinning hall is out of this world, as is the service. If you want to feel like a king or queen head here! A fabulous weekend away, beautiful grounds to walk in. Can’t recommend enough.”
“The food was excellent. Tasty, yet each dish had its individual taste. The service was great, a special thanks to Mo. Very good value for money. This is definitely my place to go to now. I will be recommending Royal Bengal to friends and family.”
“Excellent place. Independent pubs seem to be quite rare now-a-days and this definitely is one. Excellent service an ambience. Great beer really impresses me and a lovely location. Popular indoor/outdoor space and enough parking. I always thought the Loop Road was a local myth but really is a road to where you just were with a great pub half-way round! Perhaps that's what heaven will be like...”
““Absolutely bursting with flavor! The balance of spices in this curry is spot on — rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. Easily one of the best curries I’ve ever had, Highly recommended”
“Myself, friends and family have actually been to this place multiple times but kept forgetting to review it. Cannot rate it higher, a must go to. We went on a Saturday evening. Massive choice in dishes well presented, freshly made and full of flavours, not at all oily like some places. New dishes on the menu which were very tasty. There are very reasonably priced choices, from inexpensive up to banquets. Gluten free and vegan options available. wheelchair access.”
“Really good food and choice. Staff very friendly. Nice place.”
“First visit with the new chef, the food was very good and my husband’s steak was cooked to perfection. Wine selection was good, I had a glass of the Argentinian Malbec which I really enjoyed so of course I had to have a top up. We received a warm friendly welcome from the owner and the bar staff who kindly found us a table as we hadn’t booked. I would recommend booking as the pub was busy which created a good atmosphere. Need to try their Sunday Roast soon.”
“First time here this evening from a recommendation and it definitely won’t be the last! Homemade, fresh, warm tasty and very very reasonable what more could you ask for?! Efficient for a quick bite but still providing better quality than your average pizza restaurants /takeaways. Friendly chatty service as well. I hope to see this little gem of a takeaway do well.”
“Delicious food, super friendly staff, feels like a proper family run business. Been here many times for lunch on a busy day and never disappoints :D 5 stars for sure!”
