“Lovely pub & restaurant, Sunday Roasts are heavenly and a good size, I had the beef. We had a table booked for 1pm and there was no mention of roasts being sold out like I had seen another review mention. Desserts are a little on the pricier side for the portion size in my opinion, and could do with a couple more options to choose from, but other than this I can’t fault my visit. Will definitely return!”
“Really good food and service, we started with the Thai fishcakes as a starter between us, really nice flavour and size, with just enough kick in the chilly sauce to keep them interesting. I then had the Pad Thai with beef, which was lovely and tender and the noodles and veg had a really good flavour.”
“The kebabs here a very decent in portion size and taste but the chips are on another level. The fries here are my No.1 Favourite as they are fluffy inside and crispy with a delicious flavour.”
“Absolutely amazing meal. The food is outstanding, served in a super-relaxed atmosphere by an extremely friendly and welcoming team. Highly recommended.”
“Great food as always, my husband and I really enjoyed the chicken and linguine special. Lovely wine and desert selection to complement. Also the young staff were very friendly, pleasant and helpful.”
“Absolutely top notch, proper homemade Italian food at Pavarotti’s in Shanklin, Isle of Wight. Firstly, despite being fully booked this evening, the wonderful lady hosting squeezed us in as early diners. I definitely recommend booking in advance if you can as we were lucky to be seated. It was already quite busy inside even though they’d only be open for 10 minutes. The menu is full of delicious Italian meals we’ve come to know and love - I could have chosen pretty much anything and would have been happy! In the end, I ordered the tagliatelle ragu, husband had the prosciutto calzone and kiddo ordered the pepperoni pizza and we had garlic flatbread to share. The lovely staff were very attentive and served us quickly (we were starving). All our food was absolutely delicious. My ragu was properly authentic with a soffrito base and fresh pasta. I tried to eat slowly, but my appetite wasn’t having any of it and I polished the plate clean within a few minutes. When we saw the dessert menu I had to have the tiramisu and the boys shared profiteroles. Just all gorgeous. What a treat to find this place! If you want authentic, family friendly Italian food on the Isle of Wight, then Pavarotti’s is for you.”
“Excellent Italian food, well prepared and well presented. Will definitely be back if in the area again. Small restaurant with a great feel and authentic cuisine. Best Italian food we've eaten recently (and that includes a week near Genoa).”
“The rumours are true! Massive, tasty portions at the cheapest prices inhave seen in years!!! My beef in black bean sauce with egg foo young and chips was excellent, hot, fresh and tasty, no skimping on quality. My beef in black bean sauce contained huge pieces of tender sliced beef My egg foo young packed with chicken, pork, peas and onion ( and chips included in same box ). Will definitely be ordering again very very soon, looking forward to ordering curry dishes next, fried rice, chow mein, soo much to order!!!”
“Excellent food, staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, and the prices were reasonable as well.”
“We came at midday and had the full desi breakfast which was so nice, it includes paratha, omelette, spicy sausages, spicy beans, halwa and aloo. The desi chai is also a must have!! Will definitely come back very soon.”
“Amazing staff, great pizza and good prices”
“First time at Prezzo Port Solent - the food was excellent and so were the staff - our waiter Pal was very attentive. One observation for restaurant owners - the booth my family and I were in was really cold and a continuous draught around our ankles and knees. I did say to the manger about this but she couldn’t do anything as the heaters were on full blast and it’s obviously a construction problem somewhere as they have had comments before. Other than that a fabulous visit. Will visit again but not sit in the booths.”
“Absolutely lovely service from Ciaran and Nathan. The food was delicious and drinks were great too! Had a lovely time and will definitely be back soon!”
“Definitely one of the best Zizzi restaurants in my opinion, not too crowded when busy either. Csilla served us and was very nice, food was also great.”
“Visited for Valentines Day at 8pm when it was extremely busy. Our waiter was lovely and helpful. The cocktails (Papaya Daiquiri and Apple Berry Smash) were gorgeous. We loved our starters (Vegetable Spring Rolls and Squid Bits), they were cooked to perfection and the accompanying sauces we delicious. We had the Thai Green Curry and Thai Melting Beef for mains, and the beef was lovely. I would highly recommend, and will be returning very soon.”
“We have just been to Mamma Mia for the first time. It won't be the last. Lovely atmosphere, very attentive staff with prompt service. The food was delicious. We recommend it .... probably best to book a table.”
“Had lunch on Tuesday. We had the mint lamb shank and steak and ale pie. Both were superb, the steak pie was not only huge but the meat was so tender and very tasty. The young lady who served us was also excellent and very helpful as my wife has a nut allergy. Very good experience all round.”
“Visited Monty’s at the weekend with a small group of friends. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed lovely cocktails and delicious food. I would definitely return to try other dishes on the menu.”
“Big portions, very diverse menu , great taste and very low priced.”
“Ambiance is quite and cozy. Ideal for birthday celebrations and dinner. Foods are superb. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.”
“Amazing food and great outdoor eating area. It's BYO alcohol with a minimum spend on food which is great if you don't want to pay restaurant prices for beer. Good choice of non-alcoholic drinks and delicious dishes.”
“We recently visited this Indian restaurant and had quite a mixed but overall positive experience. Upon arrival, we didn’t have a reservation as it was a Friday evening and it was 6pm ish , and the initial seating offered was less than ideal—a tiny table in a cramped corner next to a large and noisy group. However, the staff was very understanding when we pointed this out, and they quickly moved us to a lovely window-side table. This small gesture made a big difference and set the tone for the evening. We ordered three starters. Two of them—Venison, Paneer, and King Prawns—were outstanding. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, making for an excellent start to the meal. Unfortunately, the third starter was -which was squid- undercooked. The restaurant handled this issue very gracefully, agreeing with our feedback and removing the item from our bill. Mistakes can happen in any establishment, but their willingness to address the issue without hesitation showed great customer care. For mains, we ordered Lamb Curry and Monkfish Curry, accompanied by Vegetable and Mushroom Rice. Everything was cooked to perfection, with complex and delicious flavors that left us extremely satisfied. The curry textures and seasoning were just right, and the rice paired beautifully with the dishes. Our server was exceptionally kind, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the evening. They provided excellent recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed with a smile. This level of service truly elevated our dining experience. While there were minor hiccups, the restaurant’s ability to rectify them and make us feel valued as customers left a lasting impression. In any successful establishment, it’s not just about avoiding mistakes—it’s about how they’re handled. We left the restaurant happy and would definitely return in the future.”
“The best kebab in Gosport hands down! Fresh kebabs all the time, always hot when delivered. The fried chicken is delicious and the customer service is always next to none. Definitely RECOMMEND”
“It is a lovely place to eat. It feels authentic, and the staff is very friendly and kind. The food was delicious and well made. The portions were just right for an adult, and drinks were okay. The place is a little small, and felt a little packed when it got busier. For the two sharing starters, four mains, and a few drinks, we've paid a little over £100 - which worked out roughly £25/pp - so prices are fair too, in my opinion.”
“Had a mixed kebab and chips with garlic mayo and chilli sauce in pots, the followed my nots of no salad and can sauce be in pots. The food was hot, fresh, flavorful and good portions. Will definitely use again”
“The staff here were simply delightful, radiating a warmth and friendliness that made us feel right at home from the moment we walked through the door. Their welcoming nature set a positive tone for the entire afternoon. As for the food, it was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish was prepared with such care and attention to detail, truly a culinary delight. We visited for a late lunch on a Sunday and sampled the Joojeh kabab, an absolute highlight. This chargrilled chicken kebab, served with saffron rice, yogurt, and a fresh salad on the side, was simply divine. The chicken was perfectly cooked and infused with a lovely smoky flavour from the grill, complemented beautifully by the fragrant saffron rice and the creamy yogurt. This dish alone is worth a visit. The atmosphere complemented the experience beautifully. The space was warm and inviting, creating a cosy and relaxed environment perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family. It felt comfortable and homely, yet with a touch of elegance that made the afternoon feel special. Given our fantastic experience, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Whether you're looking for a spot to enjoy a quiet meal, celebrate a special occasion, or simply savour some excellent food in a lovely setting, this is the best place to eat Persian food close to Portsmouth. From the outstanding service to the exceptional food and the warm, inviting atmosphere, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish. If you have the chance to visit, do not hesitate – you will not be disappointed.”
“I have had trouble with other takeaways with some dishes being too bland. The fried rice and salt and pepper dishes are a perfect mix of spice and saltiness. Very happy!!”
“Walked in on a Thursday night, lovely service, very friendly and great food. Felt very welcome and comfortable.”
“Italian food at its best on the edge of a marina. Owned by Italians, cooked by Italians, and served by Italians, with a wide variety of dishes on the menu from pizza, pasta, fish, and steaks. Bellissimo.”
“Possibly the greatest pizza and tiramisu I’ve ever had! The meal was absolutely stunning. Everyone at the table enjoyed their dishes and the desserts were also a highlight. Lovely setting for all occasions and lovely team of staff looking after everyone. Will definitely be back!”
