“Went for the first time. It was almost full and we had no reservation but table for 3 was fine. I'm Spanish and a bit reluctant to go to southern european restaurants in the UK due to disappointments on many occasions. We ordered sardines (great, like back home) and calamari (not so great and something I don't ever order in the UK, but my friend wanted to try). Then bacalhau (fantastic), lobster (didn't try but friend say it was great) and fish skewer (just okay, as the salmon was not well done and a bit raw-ish inside, but prawns and other fish were good). Nice desserts too. It's a bit expensive but tbh for the quality and the produce I it is worth it, compared to many other places you go. Yes it's 19 for the bacalhau but that's the price of a Sunday roast these days which much lesser quality produce. They have a lot of deals during the week tbh. I will definitely go back next time I visit Portsmouth.”
“Absolutely amazing! If you are GF and dairy free, you need to visit here, I was so impressed with the service and food! These are not just people in the kitchen, these are actual chefs who understand flavours, nothing was too difficult or impossible to sort out. I asked for a gf lobster sushi and they adapted it to be gluten free! I was so impressed and honestly made our whole evening meal! And Gemma was so wonderful, she went above and beyond to make sure we had the best meal and service. We had chaotic tired children lol and it wasn't a problem for her or the staff there!”
“We recently enjoyed dinner at La Campania, a charming Italian restaurant nestled on High Street in the picturesque town of Arundel. From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy ambiance that made us feel right at home. The interior is tastefully decorated, giving it an authentic Italian feel, perfect for a relaxed evening out. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and efficient without being overbearing. It was great to see that the restaurant caters to a variety of dietary preferences, including a selection of vegan dishes. As for the food, it did not disappoint. Every dish we ordered was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the flavors were well-balanced, showcasing the best of Italian cuisine. From the appetizers to the main course, each bite was a delightful experience. Overall, La Campania provided us with a memorable dining experience, and it’s certainly a place we’d recommend, especially for anyone looking for great service and quality food with vegan-friendly choices.”
“A really nice, friendly Mediterranean restaurant offering really good food and excellent service. I called in here en route to Southampton for my daughter's birthday primarily because of the good reviews here on Google. I can honestly say that the reviews are accurate. The whitebait, calamari and prawns we perfectly cooked and my steak was as expertly cooked as any I've ever had outside of London. The service was excellent and our host, Bethany, made us and most importantly my daughter feel very welcome on her birthday. We'll certainly return if we're ever in the area again!”
“I recommend their roast pork rice or roast pork with lemon. The beef soup is delicious and generous in portion. The soup is very Fresh, high quality. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee, but it was very sweet, maybe because of the wrong amount of condensed milk. I added hot water and it was normal.”
“Outstanding food and service. Definitely the best restaurant in wittering and so reasonably priced. Cant wait to return”
“July 2025. We ate in off the cuff on a quiet windy Tuesday night and just can't fault Bangkok Lounge..Food was fantastic, service was better. Free parking after 6pm about 15metres away. The end.... Been here 25yrs nearly now and it is only my personal opinion but as other restaurants and pubs mainly focus on money laundering, supermarket food passed off as theirs or 1,, yes just 1,, egg on toast for £15!!. (It's a venue, not a pub the staff said as the dog hairs folded themselves into my £15 gold plated egg,, sorry Cold plated waffle.) Bangkok Lounge stands out a quality mile..Fantastic fresh food. Xx Bognor.”
“Wow!!!! We could easily give more than 5 stars. There was 9 of us but we experienced fantastic service and the most AMAZING food. The portions are really big but so tasty you can't stop eating. The meat was so tender it melted in your mouth. Absolutely outstanding on service and food. Thank you for a brilliant evening.”
“Tried this lovely restaurant tonight as we are in the area for 24 hours only, went for a walk and decided, quite late, that we were hungry. We were lucky enough to get a table as the kitchen was about to close. We had Pad See-Ew, mine with chicken, his with giant prawns, and a chicken satay sharer starter. The satay sauce was delicious; I've never had one like it before. The Pad See-Ew were amazing, piled high with good stuff and extremely tasty. I couldn't eat all of mine so I have it as takeaway. The restaurant is intimate and very comfortable. Don't walk past it. The prices are excellent, especially for a seaside area. If you're visiting Southsea, then this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. I promise you, you will find excellent food, which is great value, and absolutely the kindest staff in the area.”
“What an absolute gem, fantastic food, excellent atmosphere add superb service and it's a winner. Highly recommended.”
“Food tastes authentic and fresh, really tasty salads! Staff were super quick and efficient, lovely cosy atmosphere - lovely Italian!”
“A hidden gem. The food is superb and the service friendly. The kitchen and facilities are very clean. I had soup and a green curry, next time going for the green papaya salad. I have no idea why it was empty on a Friday lunch but if we want to keep this gem we must use it.”
“Been here loads of times and always drag my colleagues along when we're in town. Informal and friendly with great fresh wholesome food. Prices are reasonable and they serve olives, chilli sauce and warm flat bread as a complimentary appetiser. Try the excellent Turkish wine. Food is cooked over hot coals in the restaurant for an authentic flavour.”
“Very good food. Very kind and attentive service. I was with my family and everyone was very satisfied with everything!”
“Incredible food, beautiful drinks, wonderful atmosphere and excellent service from staff!”
“I ate there last night, recommended by the hotel receptionist in Portsmouth. Food and the service were excellent. I ordered the fried mussels for starter. Large portion and delicious. Chicken Beyti for main was very tasty, mild and good size, could not finish it all. Staff were very friendly and helpful, even booked us a taxi for the way back. Would go again when back in Portsmouth or Southsea.”
“My first visit. Sunday lunchtime. Charming host, very helpful with suggestions from the Tapas menu. Food wad delivered quite promptly and was all totally delicious. We had cocktails not alcohol and they were pretty and very nice. Atmosphere was a quiet Sunday lunch for us rather than a busy evening or weekend which is their usual vibe. We were very happy with a bit of peace and calm. We had pre booked a table which was easy to do online.”
“Haven't eaten in here just delivery. Always hot, always tasty, always less than specified time.”
“Excellent Italian. Friendly staff. Book or come early.”
“Fantastic steak, perfectly cooked, great quality meat, generous portion size. Other meals looked and apparently tasted equally delicious. Friendly but not obtrusive service. Nice surrounds and decor, pleasant atmosphere. Look forward to the next visit!”
“Absolutely smashing meal, great value, lovely staff. Very tasty, well cooked food, good portions. Very much enjoyed my seafood spaghetti. Not sure if it is but feels like a family run business. Kudos!”
“Consistently reliable and family-friendly What I appreciate about Zizzi is the consistency—they’ve really got that dialled in. This was our second visit to the Portsmouth branch, and it’s quickly become our favourite stop before catching the ferry. Staff are excellent. With a young child, we need somewhere unfussy, where the team is friendly and really understands families. Crayons and colouring paper appear straight away, and kids’ snacks arrive impressively quickly—perfect for keeping little ones happy. All served with a smile. The food is always up to the standard you’d expect from Zizzi. The picante pizza never disappoints and always hits the spot. My wife took a chance on the mushroom pasta and ended up raving about it. We’ll definitely be back—same time next year, I’m sure.”
“Amazing food and atmosphere, I felt so comfy I almost fell asleep. The staff were amazingly helpful and accommodating, even when I ordered a drink I wasn't sure on, they fixed it for me. Definitely returning.”
“Just had my first Uncle Sams in years. Bacon burger, fries and a 7up. Chips were nice and hot. Burger was so flavoursome.”
“I love this new cafe! Come here for your morning coffee and you shall not be disappointed! Bask in the sun at a lovely corner tucked away from the winds before you continue your sailing or paddleboarding journey to the quay!”
“Stayed here for Three nights while attending Goodwood Festival of Speed. The accommodations were great! Cozy bed and very clean room. Ate at pub for 3 Dinners and breakfast every morning! The food was amazing! Chef Harry does a wonderful job :) Sam and Don were great, attentive hosts! Locals we met there were super friendly as well! I HIGHLY recommend Richmond Arms! Trey & Leslie”
“We had an absolutely fantastic evening. The food was delicious. The service was attentive and friendly. We'll definitely be returning for another visit!”
“Great atmosphere and the food was absolutely amazing. Service was okay, one girl was very friendly while the other didn't look happy to be there. However, the food was way too good to give this anything but 5 stars”
“Had a great lunch here (September '20). The menu is really interesting and the sushi of the day was particularly good. The staff are all very friendly and extremely helpful. Great views over the Solent obviously and perfect for a sunny day. Was a bit windy outside, but they offered to move me inside if needed. Booked a late lunch at 2pm and did not feel rushed even though they were winding down after their lunch service. No obvious Covid measures, although they obviously had my details from the booking. Ample space inside and out. Do book in advance if possible.”
“Really cosy venue with great pizza. We had dough balls and calamari as a starter, and then the piccante al pecorino and porchetta pizzas. Such a nice atmosphere, really lovely waiter, and perfect food. I would recommend to go straight for the pizzas as with the starters it will be too filling! A shame the tiramisu was not available today”
