“The peri peri chicken here is absolutely delicious! The chicken was perfectly grilled, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. I loved that they offered different spice levels – the hot was perfect with full of taste. The sides were just as good – the fries were crispy, which balanced the heat really well. The portions were generous for the price, and everything came out quickly. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. The restaurant was clean, welcoming, and had a great vibe.”

The service was impeccable, Karen went above and beyond for us. Oh my ...so glad I chose the duck with the red cabbage & fried potatoes to start & the delicious chocolate torte for afters! Compliments to the chef. It was an exquisite experience and for me is now my favourite Southsea restaurant.”

“Lovely little restaurant. We had the set menu at lunch. Loved each of the three courses. They served a warm small loaf of malted bread with butter and a dish of fat olives at the beginning - nice touch to whet our appetites. We had the charred bream to start, and mains were the pork belly and the ox cheek. Desserts were warm carrot cake with cream cheese sorbet and dark chocolate bavarois with rhubarb. Everything was delicious. We will definitely return.”

“Food, service, and atmosphere were all just about as good as it can be at any Indian restaurant. I arrived with friends at 17:30 on a Friday, so quite early. But, already, the restaurant was filling up, suggesting it's very popular - rightly so, in my opinion.”

“What an absolute gem of a place ! Stopped off here while on a visit to the island it was recommended by the owner of the chocolate shop ..... a fellow biker . We was so glad we took his advice as the atmosphere, the food , the staff everything was spot on The food was huge potions and very good value with quality products. We had the breakfast witch was around £12 and worth every penny . I had the burger and has it was burger night it was only £10 was huge and I struggled to finsh it We came back on the evening too after bike night but unfortunately they had just stopped serving food”

“Went for lunch after a walk round Bosham. Warm welcome on arrival, we were shown to our table and we quickly received our ordered drinks. Food was excellent. Plenty of choice on the menu and specials board. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.”

“Getting to be a regular here and love the welcome family atmosphere. Staff seem happy knowledgeable and keen to make your visit the best it can be. Food is always that cut above alternative eating establishments and worth the wait as this place fills up to the brim and you must book a few days ahead. Do say if something is not quite right. I reluctantly mentioned a minor detail and was made to feel welcome the issue more than resolved and no fuss. Thanks guys. They deserve a medal for the sterling effort to keep going all through covid and now as we start to feel safe out again. Food great as usual. Thanks.”

“A cosy and surprisingly large 2-story cafe with lots of outside seating for the warm weather. Parking on the streets nearby. Generously proportioned sandwiches come with a really tasty salad. One bowl of pwefect chips as a side did the three of us. Too full to have cake but they looked nice. Fully dog friendly. Staff are friendly and helpful and service was very prompt.”

“I recently spent a few hours at Carter & Co. sampling their large cocktail menu and wine list. It's a great spot in Southsea for drinks, with a nice, buzzy atmosphere and plenty of comfortable seating options, including an outdoor area. Regarding food, they offer a selection of small plates and larger main courses. We enjoyed a few small plates alongside a fantastic bottle of wine. If you're looking for somewhere a little more special for a catch-up with friends or a date night, Carter & Co. is an excellent choice. The service is friendly, the cocktail and wine list is extensive, and the ambiance is spot-on. I'll definitely be back in the future.”

“We tried various starters, including the Taftoon (like a really light, excessively crisp Naan) with Humus, Dolma (stuffed vine leaves) and the not-to-be-missed Mirza Ghasemi (crushed aubergine, garlic, egg and tomato (wow!)). We shared the meat platter for four which was delicious and very filling. You'd never know it from the front but there's an amazing garden out back - this place is evolving from a cafe into a really outstanding restaurant and it's well worth checking it out.”

“Been meaning to visit for ages as I’ve heard lots of good things and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were really nice and the food was lovely at such a reasonable price. The Veggie Muffin was filling and very yummy. The atmosphere and decor was good whether your upstairs, downstairs or outside. Lots of parking marked with a Dovecote sign. You can book or turn up on the day. We turned up just after opening on a Sunday and there were plenty of tables free. Will be definitely coming back!”

But staff were so kind and looked up items and it meant that so much more of the menu was accessible to the allergies present. We had 2 really great meals here over 2 days and were a medium size party. Every meal was delicious and good value.”
