“A really nice showroom (physically much nicer than the Purley Way one) and lovely staff. Aaliyah was incredibly helpful whilst we were in the store and has also been brilliant in helping get a revised quote to make the most of the recent sale prices, which saved us a huge amount overall. Thanks Aaliyah!”

“Take advantage of the call and collect service, it’s a lots quicker place your order over the phone or email and the warehouse guys will try their hardest to have the order picked and ready for when you arrive.”
“Craig has been incredibly helpful and patient in planning and ordering our new bathrooms. We made numerous changes throughout the process and nothing was a problem, a solution was always found and good advice was given. The quality of the products supplied were high and we are delighted with the final outcome. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Craig and the Grant & Stone team. Many thanks”
“Great range, they had padstones in stock that no other merchant had. Massive range of lintels too, the chap at the counter was happy to give me some techinic spec on the pad stones to keep the architect happy, plus I got free pens, every body needs free pens! Look forward to dealing with them more often going forwards.”
“A big thank you to the driver who delivered some bags of sand yesterday. He was polite, kind and helpful. A credit to himself and your company. Well done!!”
“Gone here more than once. Find store navigation a bit confusing. A couple signs to label areas would be very useful. (It’s not hard and can be 3d printed for free, but makes a huge difference.) Overall excellent store with helpful workers.”
“Friendly and very helpful staff”
“Thomas P is one of the best person to speak if you need an account manager...”
“Straight up traditional plumbing suppliers. If they ain't got it, they can usually get it and if not they try and point you in the right direction. Best prices in Reading for radiators and copper pipe.”
“Thanks guys. Very helpful, friendly and knowledgable service. Will be using you again”
“I visited Thames Valley Plumbing for a few parts needed to fit a couple of filters. I’m not a plumber by trade so I was unsure where to start but the guys in store where every helpful in getting together the various parts needed to make this particular filter fit as intended, all just by looking at a sketch with a couple of pictures. If you’re not too knowledgeable, these guys are, I’d highly recommend. Thanks for your help John.”
“I absolutely love this place. I'd give 10 stars if I could. It's for sure the best hardware shop in the UK. The staff are always ready to help to find the right stuff. They also advise on how to do certain things if you just ask them and they are happy to help. They have everything you could need from a hardware store and much more. The staff always make conversation as soon as you enter. Its great!”
“I couldn't speak highly enough of Jeni. I had ideas for paint colours in a newly renovated open-plan kitchen and living area, but it was Jeni that patiently & skilfully guided me in the ultimate choices. Decoration is still in progress, and the colours are absolutely gorgeous. Heartily recommended.”
“Really helpful staff. They stock loads of useful stuff and mix Dulux paint all at competitive prices”
“The thing about this shop, is the service and the fact that in this store is you can buy what you want/need in most cases. Well worth a visit. Not enough shops like this about now. If you need/want anything, check out this place FIRST.”
“Needed some tiles to replace cracked ones in kitchen. The tiles had been bought about 15 years ago. Contacted Reed Harris on off chance. We had the full tile details (I always photograph things like this). Reed Harris tracked down supplier and arranged supply of a box of tiles. Just arrived. Perfect match. We are so grateful and have to say the service was above and beyond. Thank you Karen Fatima and Sam.”
“Very good service, good value for money and prompt delivery.”
“We are extremely lucky as a town, to have such a fantastic hardware store. The wealth of knowledge and friendly service offered by the staff are great. Helping to keep waste down by offering reasonable quantities on screws. Also offers made to measure mats and a host of hardware tools.”
“One of the most friendly and helpful staff, I have ever encountered when returning "surplus to requirement" equipment in comparison with other stores. I did not have the receipt, but the manager sorted out the transaction within minutes with a full refund. Quality professional tools at competitive prices. Brilliant, honest service. Thank you.”
“What excellent service I received from Elliotts. I rang for fence panels last week to be delivered today, but I had managed to order the wrong size. No problem they were taken back. I rang Elliotts and the correct size was delivered this afternoon. Excellent service.!”
“Brilliant shop. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good atmosphere. I don't know if they still do it, but you used to be able to buy a bag of floating bird feed to take down to the river nearby, sold in a paper bag for a £1. I highly recommend Homecrafts in Caversham. ***EDIT*** It's still a brilliant shop. Floating bird food is now £2.50 in a paper bag to go feed the river or pond birds. You can buy a sack for £8. There's a good selection of bird food towards the back of the store or in plastic buckets inside the store, towards the front. There was a cheerful, helpful chap serving today (Thursday) in the shop. I had a little wander about while I was in there. It's such a great shop. There are so many useful products.”
“I believe they've thought of everything here. A fabulous Aladin's Cave of everything you didn't realise you needed, there really is everything from hardware, to gardening to pets, to knitting, to crafts, cards, and snacks. Add in the wonderful service and encyclopedic knowledge of the staff and you have the perfect shop for pros, amateurs and emergencies, as well as a lovely place to see what takes your fancy. Altogether a brilliant store that I will definitely go back to.”
“Very friendly and helpful staff that gave a 5 star service”
“Have used Dads Shop many many times. Always helpful, if they haven't got something, they get it in usually by the next day, however, this place is like the Tardis!!! Caters for virtually everything that you need, and if they haven't got it in stock, as I say, they can get it for you. Staff are always knowledgeable, helpful and friendly”
“Brilliant little hardware store that has almost everything you might want. Staff are very helpful and go out of their way to find what you need. You can even buy loose washing up liquids, vinegar etc, just bring your own container.”
“Very good shop with a great range of products. Friendly staff. Competitively priced. It has that great hardware shop smell. Very homely feel as well.”
