And I have got to say it was the best Chinese food I have had in a long time. I love Chinese food and itβs been a long time since I have been to a restaurant and been served food that was so nice. Iβm now sat here with a bad belly because I just couldnβt stop eating hahaha ( Iβve made a pig of myself ) Service was fast. Staff was polite and the food was absolutely phenomenal. βBest Chinese takeaway I had in Reading. The food I had was amazing. Crispy chilli beef stays still crispy the next day. Beef Chow mein was delicious. I normally collect my food , so my order is usually ready within 10 minutes and the staff is amazing, helpful and friendly. It is not a restaurant, it is a takeaway, so I can't say much about the atmosphere. But I can see the kitchen from the pay counter. It looks very clean.β

βA hidden gem! Even though it is classed as a casual dining pub, the quality of the food was impressive and the interior reminds of a high-end diner in London. Service was great and staff members were very helpful when it came to deciding what to eat. While we were waiting for our food we had the opportunity to have a walk around the restaurant which has a gallery of pictures depicting the village and the local landscapes. The duck leg ordered for a starter had a very good combination of flavors and herbs. The wine that was recommended to complement the steak was spot-on as well. After dinner we moved into the bar area where we could enjoy a live performance for some Friday night dancing and singing. Definitely would recommend visiting!β

βNever a bad curry here. I have tried many of the curries across the menu and there has yet to be a disappointing one. Service is good, food is good but the seating is quite limited so I think if you were to visit at a peak time like a weekend it may be best to make a booking. Also, there is parking available but there is paid parking, unless after 18:00 in the evening.β

βA huge thank you to the team at Reading Pizza Express. My mom visited the restaurant last Friday while she was in town for a quick lunch. She was visiting the country for a week and doesnβt speak the language, so when her card unexpectedly stopped working and she realised she didnβt have enough cash, she became quite stressed. The staff were incredibly kind β they reassured her, offered to reduce the cost of her meal, and even took the time to contact me so we could sort things out together. They truly went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and supported. When we returned the next day to pay the remaining balance, they refused to take it, insisting that everything had already been taken care of. Their compassion, generosity, and genuine human kindness made a world of difference. Thank you for showing such great character β we deeply appreciate it.β
