βi have been with the clinic for more than 10 years both me and my wife cannot recommend enough, very helpful and friendly staff and top class work. I have been suffering with toothache for a few days and decided enough was enough so i popped in the clinic at 9 am explained my issue and they were helpful and the lady receptionist got me in the same day at 14.30 for and extraction. Surprisingly she also asked if i was going to be at home and i was so should took my number and told me if there was chance of getting earlier she would ring me .Sure enough she rang me at 1200 and by 1300 that tooth was out . Unfortunately thanks to our government most dentists are having to go private but you get what you pay for and id rather have fast service (especially when it comes to toothache) and knowing i have a dentist with vast experience in his field .I cannot thank them enough as i am a very nervous patient but they really know how to put your mind at rest.....A+++++++++++β
βI never appreciated how good a surgery they were until I experienced some other disgraceful practises in Sheffield. Have been very efficient with Covid Vaccines and always follow up quickly on test resultsβ
βGot taken into AMU for tests. There was a wait but the nurse Christina was the most caring and kind nurse, and put me completely at ease. Everything was fully explained and the examinations were very thorough. Thank you Christina xβ
βAn excellent Doctorβs surgery. In almost 10 years have had great experiences with the surgery and would not want to go anywhere else. Dr Page and Maureen (advanced nurse) have always been so helpful, empathic and always professional. All receptionists have always been helpful and friendly. Dr Page has been excellent with both my babyβs care and mine. He listens, is patient-focused and immediately follows through with actions from the appointment. If I phone at 8am I have usually been offered an appointment on the same day, more often not before 10am.β

βThey've been looking after my wife over 5 weeks and 4 visits and one operation.I just cannot find fault with all the staff,Everything was fully explained, nothing kept away from us .The staff are the nicest and most professional I've ever had the pleasure to deal with and this year we've dealt with 5 hospitals who were great but this hospital is on another level. Many thanks to them for their careβ
βBrilliant practice always friendly and polite. Nurse was lovely who did my smear very friendly and reassuring, as smears go it was a delight lolβ
βK Coning, My experience at Parkhill was second to none. My surgeon Mr Ahmed was wonderful, kind,Caring, Reassuring, and gentle. He answered all my questions in a way that I totally understood. I cannot praise him enough. Every one at Parkhill was wonderful, from reception to nurse's, and the chef cooked a delicious cottage pie. I was treated like royalty nothing was too much trouble. Thank you everyone especially Mr Ahmed.β
βHad mostly positive experiences so far. Managed to get same day appointments without issues a few times. Receptionists have always been lovely and pleasant. One of the better practices ive been to. Thank youβ
βOn the 29th of July 2025, while I was at work, my right eye suddenly closed. I went to A&E the same night and was told it was a chalazion. I asked whether there might be a problem with the nerve, and I was reassured there wasnβt. However, it later turned out not to be a chalazion, but Hornerβs Syndrome, which is caused by damage to the sympathetic nervous system pathway. In my case, the cause was idiopathic, but in other circumstances it could have been something serious β such as a carotid artery dissection, which can lead to a stroke. That night, I could have been at real risk, and it makes me realise how easily a human mistake could cost a life. I understand that everyone in the NHS works under great pressure, and I truly appreciate the effort of those who tried to help me that night. I especially want to thank the GP in A&E who referred me to the specialists when I went back for the third time β I donβt know his name, but I am very grateful. I would also like to thank the ophthalmology department, who provided a high standard of care. I saw Dr Anne-Marie Firan, who was a knowledgeable and caring specialist. Thank you to all of you at Barnsley Hospital.β
βThis service has helped me more than any other service I have been under. I have had my fair share of workers who werenβt so good at this team which hindered my progression and support, but hopefully thatβs in the past. The staff I work with now listen to me, support me and help me with anything I am struggling with (despite their new. management who are not so good). I just want anyone whoβs thinking of accessing support to know this team will help you. Iβm no where near the place I was 12 months ago: things are still hard but I became stronger than I ever thought possible because of my self and this team. so please donβt be put off by the negative reviews. They are a small underfunded service doing their best.β
βCan't thank the doctor enough for the help in getting my daughter straight into hospital without going through A and E as she has a learning disability and autism. Rang and was seen the same day. He was very thorough and compassionate. Turns out her appendix had burst and she needed surgery promptly.β
βProfessional, courteous staff. Recently they have been so accommodating with getting you an appointment time that suits you. I haven't had any difficulty arranging appointments and have always been treated respectfully and kept well informed. I have not tried the walk-in service but I recommend calling to book.β
βGot appointment by following the procedure. On arrival nice calm atmosphere until a middle guy came in ranting at the receptionist just doing her job. He wouldn't listen to her advice on what to do, and said he was putting a complaint in. Shortly after I was called in to see Dr Ayesha Ahmed, she introduced herself and had read my recent medical notes, she listened intently and advised on the next step to my issue. I was extremely impressed with the Doctor and the receptionist.β
βAfter just joining this surgery after leaving middleton lodge of 19 yrs, I was expecting to be treated the same which was disrespectful and very uncaring but I was wrong, the doctor i see here Dr Gopi is the most caring pleasant doctor I have ever known, and the reception staff and administrators are absolutely lovely and kind. I am being treated like a human being and I actually feel like someone cares about my health, all I can say is Thank you so far xβ
βAll of our midwives went above and beyond to give my wife fantastic care during labour, delivery and recovery. They were kind, empathetic, and informative throughout, and we really had the feeling of a team around us helping us through the experience.β
βLovely quiet place to come to, very nice staff all smily faces and a warm welcome everytimeβ
βFabulous service, at first it felt a bit onerous to fill in the online referral but it was very user friendly and did help me to focus and be clearer about my symptoms which saved time in the face to face appointment (which I opted for although was given the option of a telephone consultation instead). I was kept quickly up to date regarding my request and telephoned within 2 hours to be offered a same day appointment which was totally satisfactory.β
βI'm quite happy with the Surgery and staff they are very helpful I always sorted out my stuff with them and staff is very positive and cheerful thank you to all staff xxxβ
βI wanted to write a review as a parent, having had a child admitted here last year. I have to admit when I googled the place once I knew it's where my child would be going, the reviews scared me at a time I was already scared. At the time it gave a score of about 2.4/5. I could tell, looking through, that they mostly seemed to have been written by children, but that did nothing to ease my fears or worries. I didn't need to worry though. Right from the first time I pulled in to the car park, the staff were nothing but helpful, kind and considerate. My main experience is of Emerald Lodge. Unlike my experience of a long term stay with my child in a general hospital, it was clear that every member of staff I dealt with here was understanding and empathetic with appropriate awareness of mental illness, and the ability to separate the illness and the child. At their worst, I know my child would say horrible things to the staff, and lash out - entirely caused by the illness, or at least their fight/flight response triggered by it - but the staff continued to treat both my child, and I, with respect, concern and care. Again, this is sadly not the response I experienced after challenging behaviours on a general children's ward, so it was refreshing not to feel judged and like I was responsible for bringing up a disrespectful child. I had to deal with numerous staff over a 4 month period there, and whilst there are some names who will always stick out to me as having gone above and beyond, there is not one person I felt didn't do an amazing job. My experience of the staff at the school there too was also brilliant. Caring people who were happy to talk to me, show me their classrooms, tell me how they'd come up with activities and topics to spark more engagement and interest from my child. I knew I could contact any time, and get an update, even if I'd been there just a few hours before. I knew if it all became too overwhelming, and I ended up a sobbing mess sat on the floor of a corridor, I wouldn't be judged or ignored - someone would make time for me if I wanted it, whether it was to bring me a cuppa and a tissue and give me space, or give me a hug and sit with me. I'm hoping by writing this review I get to help put at least one parent's mind a little more at ease. I know for a fact if my child was the kind to write a review, it too would probably be negative like others on here - but they spent those months there as a child, with a severe illness, away from home, battling their thoughts and being made to follow a routine, including eating, which was something their illness didn't want them to do. Of course they won't say they loved it there. But as a mum, I saw the progress these people helped him make. I saw staff at all levels doing anything they could do engage with him and win his trust. Even now, a good 2 months after discharge, he still uses techniques he was exposed to there, because they helped. He will refer to how certain staff would help him in similar situations (e.g. "we could do what Nick helped me do"). He will randomly comment "I wonder what they're doing at Becton", or remember activities he did there. My child still has a long way to go before he's recovered, if that ever happens, but from the boy who entered Becton, to the boy he was when he left, I just never thought he'd come so far in such a relatively short amount if time. If you're a parent reading this, my heart goes out to you, as I wouldn't wish the illnesses that require going somewhere like here on anyone... but equally, I hope this review helps you feel a little less worried, and gives you some element of hope. I know I will forever be grateful to the people who looked after my son, helped him battle against his illness, and helped him be well enough to come home. I hope with all my heart I never have to go back, but I know if I do, and we receive the level of care we experienced on our first admission, that I can be confident my child is in a place that will help them.β
βThe new e-triage system is so helpful if you are a busy person and can't spend ages waiting in phone queues. I submitted my problem and the GP called me back really quickly to discuss and write a prescription. I had a problem with the prescription at the chemist and when I went into the surgery the receptionist was polite and really helpful and the prescription was resent within minutes. I have found the GPs compassionate about my mental health and other problems. A bit hard to get an appointment soon for routine things, but I'll be using the Klinic system in future if I feel I need to book sooner than the available online appointments as it seems like it works well.β
βI have always had a pleasant experience with both avenue house on Saltergate and hasland medical centre. When myself or my son need an appointment we have always been able to get one within 48 hours maximum and the communication is great. The GPs are always lovely and helpful, special mention to Dr Ratcliffe, she is fantastic.β
βVery helpful receptionist who submitted a sample to be triaged for me, with an appointment request. Very soon I had a text to say that they would be contacting me soon, followed within a very reasonable time frame by a doctor who issued a prescription straight to the pharmacy. Excellent service. Thank you very much.β
βLovely receptionists, nurses and doctors. Always managed to get an appointment.β
βI have used this practice for 15 years. It has always been good but I now believe it to be excellent. I have never failed to get an appointment on the same day and my experience of the two Nurse Practicioners has been superb as well as Dr Abraham and Dr Mcgroarty. They all listen, take your concerns seriously and deal with them professionally and compassionately.β
βHad a lovely experience today with a nurse and occupational therapist. Both very wonderful and attentive ladies. Made the environment very warm, welcoming and non judgemental . Gave me practical solutions and suggestions. Listened to what I said and gave me guidance for the future. Thankyou.β
βThis GP surgery is superb. Always have time for me, staff are amazing and friendly. I've never had any issues with them. I get appointments when needed and Dr Bell is honestly the best GP I've had in 50 yearsβ
