“First time trying this restaurant, the food was great and full of flavor, Feels like home inside, nice and cozy! The staff are very welcoming and helpful. I Would recommend a bigger selection of none alcoholic drinks such as mocktails and 0% wines and beers for people who are pregnant or sober, as you only served becks blue and pop. “I love this hotel. It’s quirky, original and fun!! It’s also impeccably maintained with spacious comfortable rooms. But it’s the staff who make it such a great place to stay, always happy to help, to provide great service and always with a smile. It’s a great team. I would however agree with one of the comments that the breakfast is overpriced. But overall I would highly recommend it.”

“When we set a date to get married the 1st venue we booked to view was the holiday inn, when we arrived we just knew it was the venue for us, so without hesitation we booked, that was 80 weeks ago. We have just had our special day on Saturday, and what a day it was. From the initial booking to the day, noting was too much trouble, Olivia was very attentive, responded to all of our questions and helped us get everything organised so our day would go without issue. It was the most amazing day. All of the staff where amazing, Olivia and Richard made sure everything ran smoothly, nothing was too much trouble for either of them or any of the staff. Even our guests said how lovely and friendly each and every staff member was. They all played their part and made sure our day went as smooth as possible and without any issues. If there was one, we didnt know about it. Thank you all again for making our day as special and amazing as it was. We would recommend this venue and the amazing team in a heartbeat. “We hired Tickhill Alpacas for our Wedding in August 2025 and they truly made it a special day. Alan and Lenny stole the show and all our guests loved them! If you are looking for something unique and special, I would highly recommend hiring them for your special day. Karen organised every detail we required and Dean was on hand on the day with any questions anyone had about the Alpacas. A great experience all round!”

“Brilliant service, got greeted as soon as we walked in. Didn't get force sold anything, had a nice chat and laugh with staff. Food was served quickly, you can see it all being cooked in front of you. Seating is limited to only 4 tables but we found space easily! Would recommend and will be going back!”

“Quite a busy little local pub with a great atmosphere. Enjoyed a lovely meal there, just a simple pie chips and peas, everything seemed home made and was very tasty. Friendly and attentive staff looked after us well. I will definitely be making a return visit.”

“Lovely place, a bit dull at moment given where still in winter mode, A few paths closed ( seem to be water logged 2/2/25 ) not much in way of birds or deer. Great walk around and a few people about , Cafe area is large but the wooden/metal chairs are too heavy.”

“Myself and my little boy (14months) came here for light illuminations and stayed over in hotel. What an amazing time! Hotel was immaculate, super clean, modern. A great nights sleep! Staff were super friendly and helpful especially accommodating as I was my own with little one. Only downside was the travel cot mattress was extremely hard but this is common across most hotels we visit. Zoo itself was great. Super clean, great to see all the animals, play areas were super for little ones too. Illuminations was spectacular and SO impressive! Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend :)”

The convenience of a large car park and public toilets makes for a stress-free visit, and the crowning jewel of this destination is undoubtedly the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, which provides a fantastic day out for families and animal lovers alike. One of the standout features, is its vibrant community of shop owners. Each shop is staffed by friendly owner operators, knowledgeable individuals who excel in customer conversation and communication, making shopping here an enjoyable experience. It's refreshing to see such dedication to customer service in today's retail environment. We thoroughly enjoyed browsing through the boutiques, and it was a delight to interact with the passionate owners who take pride in their offerings. As for the eateries, the cafes are charming and well worth a visit, but I have to give a particular shout-out to Cornerstone Gelato. Their ice cream is nothing short of dangerous—amazing flavours that will leave you two stone heavier! The staff are enthusiastic and persuasive, ensuring that you leave with a wider selection than you’d initially intended. It’s a testament to their excellent customer service; just be prepared to indulge a little too much! However, there's potential for even more growth and enrichment at The Yorkshire Hive. Adding a few more small shops could enhance its appeal as a shopping destination, allowing retailers to support one another and create an inviting marketplace atmosphere. Perhaps the Yorkshire Wildlife Park could play a role in this development by offering discount coupons for small businesses in The Hive. Such initiatives would not only bolster the local economy but would also create a community-centric vibe that would attract repeat visitors. After all, every little bit helps, especially for small retailers trying to make their mark. This is a must-visit destination that captivates with its diverse offerings and strong sense of community. We will certainly be returning, Thank you, Yorkshire Hive, for a delightful experience!”

“This is an outstanding area of beauty, situated along the Don gorge at the side of Sprotborough Falls. I walk or ride along the Don on the TPT (Trans Penine Trail) quite often with my partner and the dogs and pass the Flash. It's a place that's beautiful no matter what time of year. In the summer this year we spotted the local king fisher. He/she was sat on a post not 20 yards away looking around with not a care in the world. If you're in the area be sure to go. After a nice walk you can always pop into The Boat Inn for a bite to eat and maybe something to drink.”

“First time visit,and I was hooked. The Blue Bell is a beautiful English pub. It was mother's day lunch a Sunday roast beef dinner, and it was delicious. I forgot to take a photo because I just wanted to eat it. The staff were lovely and had a table with pretty surroundings. I couldn't fault it at all. Definitely on my list to visit again.”

“We just visited for a hot drink and piece of cake on a cold afternoon in Donny. I had a tea with oat milk and a vegan & gluten free chocolate brownie. My partner had an oat cappuccino with a chocolate praline cake. With both enjoyed them a lot. Lovely friendly staff, great food and beautiful venue. Highly recommended.”

“Found this hidden gem on a recent trip to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.. so good we visited twice! We stopped in for lunch and were spoilt for choice between the fabulous fresh sandwiches and the delicious homemade salads. Kids also delighted to find pizza as an option for their lunch box! The cafe is spotlessly clean and the AC was very welcome on a hot day. Staff were warm and welcoming, definitely service with a smile. The excellent customer service didn’t stop there. I arrived home to Scotland and realised my glasses had fallen out my bag while in the cafe! After exchanging a few messages on social media, my glasses were posted home to me! Now that really is going the extra mile. Highly recommend popping in for a visit, once of the best independent coffee shops/cafes we have visited in a long time.”

“Stayed at HEX on a coach trip from Cornwall. This is a fantastic hotel the concept of the hotel is fantastic. Rooms modern very clean well equipped. A separate resutrant and bar fantastic to be seperate from rooms. Great to have wildlife park on the complex no travelling. Also a complex of shops places to eat and coffee shops. The staff are wonderful so friendly can't do enough for you it's all the extra care to detail to make your stay great I have stayed in a lot of hotels Hex is first class. Highly recommended. Thanks to all staff see you again.”

“We only had drinks. There is plenty of inside and outside space and seating. Service was fast. Card payments are accepted. It's very clean, including the toilets. I would definitely go again. My friends had non alcoholic drinks, which were a bit overpriced. Parking behind the building has a lot of space but is on a slope, so not really accessible for people with disabilities.”
