“We had a take away yesterday evening and really enjoyed it. The quarter of crispy duck was a very generous portion. Really crispy skin and succulent meat. We also liked the salt & chilli ribs starter and two main courses with king prawns & chicken. All were good sized portions and very tasty. The lady who served us was lovely. We are staying nearby as pet sitters and would definitely visit again if we return to this area.”

“I've been here several times now. The fataya is pretty good but the schwarma especially the mixed one is amazing. There's never really a queue when I go in the evenings and it's usually a quiet relaxed atmosphere which is perfect for me.. The guys are friendly, and the portions are generous and filling. I'd definitely recommend it especially if you want a quick bite before catching the train as it's literally a few minutes walk away.”

“Been going to Shalimar for over 25 years now. Best balti in the area by a country mile, immense naan breads. Never had a bad meal here. Top service, fantastic family business with great food every time.”

“We just left a different pub we decided not to eat at due to atmosphere and overpriced. This place I can honestly say the staff and service was the best and most accommodating I have ever witnessed. The kindness and communication skills was slim to none. The team you could see it's an atmosphere here that is very comforting. The food was beautiful. A couple of suggestions was the gravy was very thin and roasts was very lightly cooked taking away from the feeling of a roast potato. We are meatfree and the chef even took his time to talk to us about the gravy content. My 11 year old daughter spoke of how kind the server was and how it was nice to see the staff paying interest in the customers unlike the other establishment we left which she described " just about the money " Thanking you”

“We ordered meat and vegetable thali and it was yummy. The amount of food is big enough for two meals each... my veggie thali included tarka dhal, bombay potatoes and veggie curry plus rice with vegetables. We order from regularly and it's always delicious. And for all of that we paid £18...”

“Visited The Railway Inn yesterday as a halfway point to meet a friend. Had an excellent experience. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was fresh, tasty & homemade. The chef came to ask if everything had been OK. Will definitely be back!”

“Fine dining is reflected with the chefs passion for ingredients and fresh produce. The two chefs are always competing to make each dish better every time. I recommend the scallops starter, as an example where each chef has tweaked the dish to get higher and higher praise each time it's served. Service is impeccable, which is what you would expect from a Maitre d'hotel from the armed forces, serving in the officer's mess. I can't recommend this restaurant enough, as today we live in a world of pub grub and a decline in fine dining experiences which should make you feel that you have had "a special meal"”

“We had booked for a table on our walk, and we got there a bit early before opening, but tables outside to sit on. It started to fill pretty quickly, all the food we ordered was delicious and cooked perfectly no complaints from any of us and we were a group of 5. Even some drinks came quirky. Would definitely go again.”

“My daughter and I spent a wonderful day here at the Buxton Crescent spa for my birthday. It was a great experience. The staff were brilliant and made us feel very welcome. The pools and saunas were lovely and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The lunch we had was delicious. We both had the Indian head massage treatments. Very relaxing and very chilled afterwards. Would definitely do this again.”

“We had a meal at pizza express tonight for my daughter’s birthday . In total there was 12 of us . We were looked after from start to finish impeccably, the service was top notch - which is hard to find at many places these days . The starters and main pizzas arrived all in good time , the table was constantly cleared of used plates and more drinks offered frequently . The food was all 10/10 , hot , no mistakes with any orders and all left to feel like our custom meant something to them . The deserts were incredible too. All in all - fantasic !”

“Great new bar open in Stafford, went with my wife for the opening night and we enjoyed that much we went back again the following week for lunch on my wife’s birthday. The drinks are reasonably priced and there are some lovely cocktails to choose from. We ate on both visits and the food is of excellent quality, the seasoned fries are to die for, they are special trust me !! All the staff were friendly and very attentive, the service was first class and very efficient. All in all I can’t fault any part of our experiences and would definitely recommend, we will be going back again very soon. 5 out of 5”

“Best Indian food in stoke on trent!!!! Recommended by a family member previously, used to always drive past but never did I go in... however the past 18 months this has been my number one everytime. Yes you can pay a bit more than other places, but it's the perfection in the food and the quality!!! Whatever I ask for they do even if it's off the menu. Never had one bad meal and the staff are great. Even let me hire the room for a gender reveal me and my partner did to find out what sex our baby was going to be, and on a day they were shut. Don't be shy, give it a try !!!!!”

“Wonderful little Chinese. CASH ONLY. The salt and pepper pizza boxes are delicious. The portions are huge and the staff are lovely. If you call up you can be given a time for collection to save waiting a long time for your food. Never had a bad meal.”

The only downside was the price of the wine which was excellent but so expensive for such a small glass. We would recommend it very highly x”
