“Farima was our waitress this evening, She was friendly and helpful with regards to our nut allergy needs. No task to hard checking ingredients for us. “This delightful hotel set in stunning countryside provide lovely comfortable rooms. The whole atmosphere of the place is peaceful and "countryfied" well suited to its rural setting. The restaurant has a goiod choice of food and both our choices were delicious and good value for money. Great real ale too served in the cosy bar area. First class.”

“Really enjoyed having a little stop at this cafe for a drink. In the centre of town just off the main area it’s big enough for maybe 25 people with various tables inside and out. Toilets on site and it’s wheelchair accessible too. They allowed our dog in as he was well behaved. Lovely service and very friendly. We had a couple of cream teas with great clotted cream and home made scones - it was a great time thanks”

“Fabulous Sunday roast, wanted somewhere that wasn't a chain and this place really delivered. Amazing Sunday roast and really good service and well priced especially for the portion sizes. Kids well looked after you, non of this beige nugget and chips! Interior is lovely too, very well decorated. Will stop there again!”

“My grandsons blessing was held in the Nuns Room, it was a perfect venue. Recently refurbished it had charm and character and was beautifully presented. Our buffet was delicious, we made our choice on Mathews advice, it was perfect. The staff are all so flexible. They are polite and friendly , nothing is too much trouble. A perfect venue !! “Had a lovely comfortable stay. We were in the coach house very clean bed comfortable but could do with a lick of paint & some attention to the Bathroom. Breakfast was lovely fresh & very filling. The Staff upon arrival & through out our stay were Brilliant! Excellent customer service so friendly. We will be back.”

“On 25th October we had our wedding at the Lion & Swan, WOW it was certainly 5 stars!! After 8 years of being engaged and looking at sooo many venues, we randomly stumbled on The Lion & Swan and when we came for a viewing we knew it was what we were searching for. During the whole time planning our wedding Liam has been great, he is so attentive and nothing is too much trouble! Our wedding day was amazing and went smoothly. The venue is just stunning and even more so with wedding decor. The food was delicious!! Downstairs at Radleys is the perfect place for an evening reception which creates the best atmosphere for a party. Also all of our guests that stayed at the Venue commented on how lovely their bedrooms were and what a nice breakfast they had. We absolutely loved having everything for our special day under one roof and wouldn’t change a thing! Thankyou so much Liam for all of your help and support. Hannah & Dan x”

“This restruant has great food, great service and cooks the food in great time! The food is very tasty but the prawn crackers.... aren’t.... but I think it’s very safe to say that this is the best Chinese food in the town or probably the county!”

“Table for 1 on a Thursday - but the service was excellent. Food was fantastic too, one of the best Indian restaurants I have eaten at. Food tasted fresh and well prepared, presented amazingly. Spice levels in the menu were accurate too. Staff working here all seemed happy and recommended dishes that I haven't heard of and could describe them very well. Drink selection good too and draught cobra tasted good and matched well with food. Glancing into the kitchen and was refreshing to see a clean kitchen with organised sections too. If I'm ever back in the area I will be going back here!”

“We had Sunday lunch today for 7 people. Everyone had a different Sunday Roast that was on offer. All were very nicely presented on hot plates. I had the pork belly that was very tender & tasty. Some of us had turkey that was very moist & plentiful. The beef was very nice & was cooked to your liking, the lamb was tender. The selection of vegetables hot & nicely cooked We also had some extras, pigs in blankets, red cabbage & cauliflower cheese all really nice. The service was very good, friendly & helpful. Was a very relaxing afternoon with friend's. Would highly recommend the Peacock for a lovely meal in nice relaxing surroundings. Will be going back for sure. Thank you for your service & a lovely time.”

“We came in as we were stopping at the premier inn next door for an event. We thought we'd go here for the evening and were extremely surprised by the food and service. Every meal we had (steak, pork belly, pie, hallumi fries, desserts) were incredible. We had a very friendly waitress who I believe was called Emma. The experience was brilliant and couldn't recommened enough.”

“We've just spent 5 nights in the Byley suite at this lovely hotel. I can't fault it in any way. It's very clean and comfortable. The staff are all friendly and attentive. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. The grounds and outside spaces are attractive and well maintained and there's plenty of parking available.”

“Really unique concept of dining, menu is street food style that leaves you spoilt for choice. Fresh made burgers that to say the least are filling and absolutely delicious, there's also burritos and noodles and a huge choice of other bites for every taste and appetite. Everything on the menu is freshly prepared with great attention to detail of the ingredients. Good choice of cocktails served in a variety of quirky ways but only one draft lager but it was quite refreshing. Great repurposed furniture and decor with an outdoor seating area to the rear. Great place for groups great food, great atmosphere and really nice staff.”

“Came for a 'posh' fish and chips with my sister on Saturday afternoon. It was a Virgin gift voucher from my friends. We were seated straight away and all the staff were really lovely. Modern decor. The fish and chips were delicious and we also enjoyed the fizz that came with it. Great first impression of the place and we will certainly call in again. Thank you for a lovely time.”

“Having played here multiple times in the past, at least 20 and always enjoyed it. I’ve not played at Malkins Bank Golf Course for about four years until today. I knew by the website that there were new owners and they understood the trial ahead of them to get this once great course back to its best. The new style club house is superb. More modern, welcoming and solid range of food and drink. Driving range is closed due H&S reasons, but not current owners fault. The course is still great to play. Undulating, narrow in places, risk and reward, and fun packed holes. Yes, the fairways and greens need work, but once again I knew this from the website and still thought £25 was a good price for the round. A good green keeper will need at least 12 - 18 months to work the magic, but it will be worth it. Today was the most fun I’ve had playing golf in a long time. Thank you.”
