“Stayed here with 6 of my friends for my Queen Scout Award as we was doing long hikes each day. It was so nice to come back to a clean cozy barn. The views were great the barn got nice and warm with the heater and Wifi so I could uploads my pictures. Alison was lovely too had lots of information and was nice to chat too. Great place to stay if you love the outdoors.”

“I have been going to Monty’s Fish and Chip Shop in Leek Market Square for over 15 years, and I can say with complete sincerity that it is one of the best fish and chip shops in the world. From the very first time I discovered Monty’s, I knew it was something special. The quality of the fish and chips is consistently exceptional—the fish is always unbelievably fresh, encased in perfectly crisp, golden batter that is never greasy. The chips are spot on every time: fluffy inside, just the right amount of crunch outside. Over the years, I’ve brought countless family members, friends, and even my students here. Every single person has agreed: these are the best fish and chips they’ve ever tasted. What makes Monty’s truly stand out is not just the food, but the genuine care and passion of the owner, Keith, who takes enormous pride in his restaurant. Whether you’re sitting down for a proper meal or grabbing a takeaway, you’re treated with warmth and excellent service. I’ve sampled fish and chips all over England—including many famous seaside spots—but nothing comes close to Monty’s. In my opinion, it is perfection in every way. If you try it yourself, I am certain you will not disagree. This place is a true gem, and I feel lucky to have enjoyed it for so many years. Highly recommended.”

“I came back to Stoke after a year away, ended up heading down after a recommendation from some friends, the landlady straightaway made me feel welcome and added to the great atmosphere overall. Good prices on drinks, has great entertainment nights like Karaoke etc and overall, just a great place to go to relax and hang out with friends. “Beautiful hotel set in some of the most amazing of scenery. Room was cosy and everything we could need. The staff are friendly and willing to go above and beyond to ensure your stay is exceptional. Even the local were welcoming and offered their wealth of experience and knowledge of the local area and history. The meals are priced well and prepared to an exceptional standard. “As Weary Travellers staying in Leek (At The Green Man) for 1 Night after a long Day at Alton Towers with a Hungry 5 year old in tow, not knowing anywhere to eat, l ended up searching for a nearby takeaway, and using Google maps & Turkish Delights popped up followed their reviews & my Nose & can honestly say this place lives up to the reviews, the food was cooked fresh, substantial & importantly reasonable having been fleeced by Merlin Entertainment All Day Long was very welcome to my wallet. We ordered Pizzas which were delicious & with friendly Staff! Well done guys keep it up! If we ever return to Leek again next time I would like to try the Burgers & Kebabs! Simon from Brighton”

“We booked the function room upstairs for a hen party and it was perfect! The perfect size for what we needed and the staff were so helpful. We booked grazing boards for the event with the chef and they were absolutely brilliant. Couldn't recommend them more. The drinks from downstairs were delicious and well priced. Can't thank you all enough.”

“Visited for the first time today after recommendation by our daughter. Had a mega breakfast and a large breakfast which included toast and hot drinks. Food was hot, tasty and well presented and two large empty plates later says it all. Staff are really friendly and helpful and there's ample parking outside. Will definitely be here again soon and have already recommended it to others. Keep up the great work.”

“I ordered from Stakeout yesterday and I was really impressed! The pizza was delicious — hot, fresh, and packed with flavour, with a perfectly crispy base. I also tried the chicken fillet, which was juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The food arrived on time and was still warm, and the service was smooth and friendly. Great quality and good value for money. I’ll definitely be ordering from Stakeout again soon!”

“29th of June /2nd July 2024, we stayed there for 3 nights, at Lavander retreat, and we enjoyed every minute of it . The hot tub was amazing ,we used it even when it was raining ,chilly outside nice warm water in the tub . Decent size of bed ,shower room ,all you need to enjoy the stay . Nobody disturbed us during our stay , we had music on giggles and laughter . One thing ..... the steps were slippery when wet and really dangerous. Thank you ,Hen Cloud Cottage x”

“Served by James C extremely well looked after. My little boy has allergies and the attention he took making sure all possible safety measures were in place was very impressive. Time spent conversing and paying attention to my son and even let him put pictures up within the restaurant which made his day. Food excellent as always and great hot selection. “Popped in here for something to eat after a long drive. The amount if food you get is amazing. All cooked in a clay oven and finished on a grill. The flatbreads are baked in a clay oven and are massive, they're the best flatbreads I've ever had from a takeaway. Staff are great, even let you wait in your car if you wish and bring it out to you. I can't recommend this place enough.”
